Danyang is a fantastic place - the city of flowers on the shores of a narrow lake. Very walkable, with walking paths across the street that go down to the shore and paths along the street.
Sono has a number of hotels in Korea. This is one of the oldest. Our family suite had a kitchenette, with a good size refrigerator and a small 2-burner stovetop. There was a table with 4 chairs in the kitchen and a good size living room with a large couch.
The main bedroom had a half bathroom and there was a full bathroom when you entered the suite as well. The second bedroom was ondol style. From the living room and balcony we had great views of the city and the lake.
Like the other Sono properties we have stayed at, the rooms are in need of a refresh and renovations. That said, there is a lot to like about this property and the fantastic location:
Lots of parking, free
A small water park
Restaurants in the basement level as well as shops, games, singing rooms for karaoke
A fantastic bakery with top quality goods, that offered a big discount after 7pm

I'm still searching... it's old and overpriced
No small table near the bed, no power socket either and nor in the kitchen, had a power socket between the kitchen and the kitchen table, so you ad to put the kettle or what ever you wanted connect on the floor or on a chair.
Same to charge or connect your phone or laptop, you couldn't reach the bed, the phone or laptop had to be placed on the floor or on a chair between the TV and the bed!
Neither was a power socket in the bathroom to plug in the toothbrush or razor...
Staff said at the checking, that house keeping will be done every 5 days, what's not an issue for me, I stayed 5 weeks in total, but after 11 days still no house keeping was done, and when I complained, they told me I have to call 101 to request housekeeping! So I told them I'm here now (at the front desk) so please take my request and do clean the room please.
I had to come back another day to remind them again to finally get my room cleaned, and then an other staff told me that they clean every 3 days...
Was the case after that for a short time, after what was again inconsistent, the 2 last week I stayed was again no room cleaning during my last 10 days.
Didn't appreciate the small towel, so unpractical.
Didn't appreciate also that for long stay like me (5 weeks!) they don't reserve parking for long term guest, on weekend had to turn 10 minute in the parking lots to find place.
Wifi wasn't that fast too and often disconnected

Family studio was well furnished, clean and comfortable. The heated floor was a big plus! Location was convenient, walking distance to Gugyeong market. Fall colours were amazing.
No shower curtain in the toilet - floor got easily wet.

The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating despite the language barrier. We were able to book tours directly at the counter and they even booked a taxi for us cause we were not able to call.
The breakfast buffet was amazing, the facilities within the resort were great, e.g. BB.Q chicken, convenience store, karaoke bar. It was a perfect stay to relax.
The rooms were rather old fashioned, especially the bathroom not having a shower curtain. It was something to get used to having to sleep on the floor and using small handtowels. However, we understood that this was more of a difference in culture than service.
Personally, do not recommend the Ocean Play for adults. It was completely full and difficult to move. It is mainly for children.

You will have all the comforts a family can need... and even more! Big room, well equipped, in a structure full of facilities and things to do. Grat stay!

Nothing...
I don't recommend it at all. The facilities are very old, given the price it's way too expensive!
Also is very Far from the center..

Breakfast is good but expensive. We didn't get coupon this time :(

The view from the room.
It’s a very tired old hotel. Your room is not cleaned every day and the towels are only hand towels.

great location and good view from balcony
huge size comes together with mass processing at reception. do not expect too much help from personnel and especially do not expect anyone speaking one single english word with you. 😕

a bit too warm in the rooms. third room was just empty

The room was much bigger than we thought!! The view was amazing and the room was well equipped. Our room even came with a balcony and it was ssoooo clean!! We moved the single beds together and it was even clean under the beds and bedside table.
When checking on the app it said there were no cooking facilities in our room, but we had pots and pans and everything - even a rice cooker. I'm not complaining, just knowing would have made it easier to plan. Also all the recycling information was in Korean and had no translation so we had to use a translation app - which isn't always trustworthy.

The family room was large in size and was comprehensively. The dining table and cooking equipment were a nice touch. The room was clean.
There was a great view of the mountains!
We loved having the convenience store and bakery at the basement.
Ample parking lots were available.
Would have appreciated having larger bath towels.

The rooms have a small kitchen with butane stove, dishes, etc. but no paper towel, tissue paper, no bucket for ice, etc. The rooms are in decent sizes but the hotel’s room rate is double on the weekends. The hotel has a small walking area downstairs for kids to run around.
The rooms didn’t have enough pillows for 4 people in each room that I booked. There’s only a hand towel and no bath towels, toiletries, or tissue paper. If you want an extra small hand towel, you’ll pay extra. Restaurants in the hotel is not within reasonable price or budgeted trip. Near the tourist spots but it’s not easy accessible so you’ll definitely need your own vehicle.

The location was nice. It has a large arcade downstairs, along with many other things, like restaurants, shops, etc.
-Very outdated
-Miscommunication with the staff about Pool and Sauna hours (the front desk said it was open till 2200 however it was closed when we came at 8 pm)

We enjoyed our stay at Sono Moon. The apartment was very clean, bed was comfortable and the pillows were soft.
The towels were tiny. The second bedroom was too hot and it does not have a window, so it was difficult to cool it down.
3.5
There's a fun arcade for families that's reasonably priced and the BBQ restaurant in the lobby is really good.
The beds are rock hard and not comfortable AT ALL. The windows are single paned, so the room was freezing just like the temperature outside. The second "bed" room was traditional Korean style (even though we booked a western-style 2 bed) and the floor was burning up hot with no AC or fans available. The room was NOT clean, there was a lot of hair in both bathrooms upon arrival. Also, the noise between floors is horrendous. My family had trouble sleeping because the upstairs neighbors were talking, stomping, and jumping all night and we could hear it crystal clear.

Ideally located. Rooms are clean.
However, food options are limited especially with no continental or vegan options.

The property activities and restaurants were the highlight of this property.
Rooms were old and dingy, bathroom smelled like straight bleach. Plenty of room in rooms for more than one bed. The assigning of beds once you get there is kind of ridiculous. Price was not worth the room. Could not check out early, which I have never heard of. Literally tried to make us stay and not let us check out.
