Honestly not sure if I can adequately describe how perfect this stay was. It’s even more beautiful in person and the level of attention and customer service we received was beyond our expectations. Manos is a perfect host!
We loved having our own private space to watch the Santorini sunset. The location of the windmill is ideal - close enough to everything you’ll want to see in Oia, but situated just far enough away that it’s easy to escape the crowds.
The hot tub was a huge hit with our family and we really enjoyed spending time at the pool.
Our only regret is that we weren’t able to stay longer. Our family needed a beautiful escape from everyday life, and Manos with his stunning windmill helped make that a reality. We hope to return again soon. Santorini with its unbelievable sights and incredible people stole our hearts!
Thank you, Manos!

We had been dreaming of staying in the Windmill for three years after our original plans were interrupted by the global pandemic. Finally, we were able to re-book and the reality exceeded the dream. From the moment we arrived until we unfortunately had to leave Manos took care of everything we needed, checking what we were interested in doing each day and giving recommendations for the best places. His restaurant suggestions were excellent and I would suggest picking from his list and making reservations early. Highly recommended.

This was a unique accommodation; very authentic and quaint. It had limited windows but it was still fine. It had everything we needed. The one thing that we give three stars for are the stairs; narrow and very steep tho did have secure railings. If anyone is at all limited in mobility, you should consider another place. The beds were not as comfortable as they could’ve been but just ok. Location was great, sunset fabulous, pool was beautiful with a great view and wasn’t crowded but the best part was how well we were taken care of by Manos. We were treated like family. He texted us asking if everything was okay, gave recommendations, called taxis who were prompt - this was an all around great experience except for those crazy stairs!

Manos was a friendly, informative, helpful host. Excellent communication before and during our stay. We were well taken care of at poolside, too.
I would highly recommend a stay and bonus: the best spot on Oia to watch the sunset!

Wonderful stay!!!
We had a wonderful experience from the initial booking process to check out. Manos, the property owner, is absolutely wonderful. He is so responsive and attentive and made us feel so welcomed and “at home” at the property. The windmill is amazing. Great spot in Oia and nice sunset views. If you are looking for even more privacy, he also rents the Liyoyerma cave houses a few step down - my father in law stayed there while our family with children rented the Windmill. The cave houses were typical Santorini properties with beautiful views, a ton of privacy, and each had its own pool. Such a lovely experience. I highly recommend for your stay in Oia. Full breakfast delivered to “the room” every morning. Amazing service!

Stunning location amazing owner and brilliant staff
We would give 10 stars if we could !
The Windmill is the best place to stay even with the steps inside and Manos could not do enough for us even checking we had arrived home from airport safely. The choice of 3 breakfasts bought to us every morning were all delicious and kept us going most of the day. Having free use of the pool with sun beds reserved was a life saver to escape the heat and the food and drink menu was good with discounts as staying at Windmill. There is so much to see and we did SunsetOia boat trip , hired a Quad bike and walked from Thira to Oia after catching a bus to Thira to start the walk. Despite being lots of tourists we felt like celebrity’s sitting on the patio watching the sunsets with everyone taking pictures of the Windmill !!
We only had 2 meals out at Los Pelicanos and Terapinos N Oia snd would advise booking ahead for some restaurants.
Again we cannot fault our stay with Manos and the memories will last forever , it was worth having to wait 2 years for.

The most unique place we have ever stayed!
This was such a cool place to stay. First off, sunsets in Oia are considered best in the world by many, and this windmill gave a private viewing spot where you can go to the pool deck or just stay at your windmill deck. Everyone in Oia flocks to the area for sunset.
Manos was a wonderful host. Very easy to communicate with and accommodating. I unfortunately had an accident during our stay requiring a trip to the hospital in Fira. He helped arrange our taxi and made sure I had whatever I needed.
Breakfast every morning was lovely. We sat on the deck to enjoy that. We would often get asked by other visitors if we really were staying in the windmill. People were fascinated by them.
And just to fully disclose, this place in cozy, aka, tiny. Don’t arrive with a full size suitcase. Plan to live out of your bag during your stay, no unpacking into a dresser. Also, there is just a small frig, a coffee press and a tea pot. No other kitchen amenities. But you really don’t need any as you will enjoy the wonderful taverns and restaurants all within walking distance.

The best and most unique rental I have ever had.
Staying in one of the iconic windmills in Santorini is a once in a lifetime experience. The private balcony for sunset and the reserved space at the pool make this truly special. Manos and his team are very helpful and always available. As has been stated in other the reviews, the stairs could be a challenge for those with any mobility issues but we loved the place.

Bucket List Stay!
We loved every minute of our stay. Manos treated us like family as soon as we arrived. We loved staying in the windmill and we loved the pool. We were treated like family and everyone was so helpful and kind. Great communication, do not hesitate to book this unique place to have a picture perfect vacation!

Fantastic unique place
Absolutely terrific place. We would walk outdoors to people taking pictures of our “house”. Manos and his family are wonderful.
The pool is amazing and the views at sunset are the envy of the rest of the island.
Space inside is cramped if you brings lots. So pack light.
Recommend half day boat tours with sunset oia. Highlight of trip. Good dinner a Blue Sky Taverna if you don’t need the ocean view. Prices much better off the water.

Incredible stay at the windmill!
Manos, Ellen, and George and all the staff really made this an amazing experience. They helped us plan excursions, recommended great restaurants, and we had a beautiful breakfast every morning by the pool. The windmill is terrific. The views from the two balconies are out of this world. The quarters are tight but comfortable and you do get used to the space. We were outside most of the time but it was a wonderful place to come back to. The open shower was nice, the price was great for the area, and having the pool right there every day was a joy. Spent four nights there and after we checked out on the fifth day we stayed by the pool since we had a late flight. We relaxed, ate lunch, and it was a perfect end to an incredible vacation in Greece. I would highly recommend this as a unique experience that you would not get in a hotel. Thank you to Manos, Ellen and all the staff. Scott and Tony.

Great week in a beautiful location
We stayed at Lioyerma Windmill in August. The location in Oia is beautiful and everyone involved made us feel welcome.
Our children (aged 12 and 9) shared the top room in the windmill and we shared the downstairs room. It's compact, but in reality we spent little time there, preferring to relax by the pool or head out site seeing. Just be aware that the stairs in the windmill are steep, so need to be navigated cautiously.
The evenings were wonderful, with the views of the setting sun from the Windmill's terrace just perfect. We felt particularly privileged because the tourists pack the little streets of Oia during this time to catch a glimpse of the sunset, whilst we relaxed with snacks and wine. There are plenty of restaurants to then head off to in Oia if you wish.
The team at Lioyerma helped out every day and were very kind - from keeping the sunloungers for us, keeping us fed and watered, and suggesting things to do.
We had a lovely stay, would certainly recommend if you were a family like ours or a couple looking for a treat or something a bit different.

Excellent stay
Wow this place is brilliant. We loved staying in our very own windmill. It’s perfectly located just on the edge of Oia - a couple of minutes to walk into town but far enough away to not be in the throes of cruise ship madness.
The owners are lovely and very accommodating, the windmill is spotlessly clean and serviced daily.
The photos accurately reflect what it’s like. It’s simple inside with a small living area as you enter then steps up to a bedroom on the top floor ( my children slept here). We slept in the bedroom on the bottom floor down a ladder/ staircase, the spacious bathroom is down here too. This is pretty steep but we soon got used to it - you can access the bottom floor through a different doorway though if you were to find it too tricky. Oh and the beds are comfy too.
The owners also own a pool bar around a 20m walk away. My teen daughter felt like a VIP here. You have sun beds reserved for you at all times and you also come here for breakfast which is included in the price.
The views are amazing from the terrace outside - words don’t do it justice. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for something a little different to the norm. How many people get to say they’ve stayed in a windmill!

Best spot in Oia
We had a fantastic 3 nights at the Windmill with 2 adults and 2 children (7 and 10 years). The staff at check-in and at the pool bar were very attentive and they reserved 4 day beds for the duration of our stay. The stairs in the windmill would be an issue if you had mobility issues but we had no problems and found it quite fun.
The view from the terraces was stunning and perfect for sunsets. So many people stopped to take photos of the windmill.
Do not hesitate to stay here

Amazingly beautiful experience to stay here
I am a very lucky person who come back to Santorini every summer with my friend for our summer vacation. Of course I've loved this windmill to included in my trip pictures whenever I came to Oia for the breath-taking sunset, however I've always thought this windmill was a property of Greek goverment and not owned by a person. While I was looking some special different nice places to stay during 2019 summer vacation, I happened to find this place on homeaway...! I was thrilled and didn't hesitate to make a reservation for the stay.
During your stay, you will be provided with a sun bed and a table at Lioyerma Lounge Cafe Pool Bar which is located just next to the windmill. Breakfast will also be provided at there every morning. This place is owned by a very kind and warm hearted family, who tries to respond to the guests. About how special/unique feelings come from the stay at a windmillI, I should just say "thrilling". It feels like it is just you and your company left alone in this crazy world; peaceful and calm.......on the one of the most crowded spots in Oia! However, what my friend and I loved the most about this stay was the warm welcoming by the owner family. We really loved hearing the beautiful harmony from two beautiful ladies who sang while cleaning the inside of windmill for us (mother and aunt from the family). They made a scene from Cinderella-Walt Disney animation, enjoying what they were doing for the guests indeed from the bottom of their hearts. (I have a wide smile upon my face while remembering this scene again) Lovely place to stay at least once in your life, if you come to Oia!

16-Days of Awesome!
So I did my research for over six months to find the perfect place for me - and the Lioyerma Windmill was it! Exceptional hospitality, family-owned and in the most beautiful spot on the entire island of Santorini. "My" Windmill was cozy, well-appointed (even a french coffee press) and provided the most unique and amazing 16 days of living like a local. Yes - it's tiny (it's a windmill!) but the AMENITIES ARE HUGE! We had delicious breakfasts by the pool every morning, reserved sunbeds at any time of the day and THE BEST SUNSET VIEW in the world. Manos and Jenny were gracious hosts - always checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Aunt Ellen took such good care of us and kept everything neat and tidy - four girls in a windmill was not easy! George is absolutely fantastic and made sure we never needed a thing. This is the place for you if you want to feel at home, have great service and experience Santorini hospitality at it's best. Note - you must be able to negotiate steep steep stairs in the 3-story windmill (after all it IS Santorini) and take a short walk from your front door to the pool (oh the hardship). I highly recommend Lioyerma Windmill as THE place to stay if
you're into a laid back, easy going vibe with exceptional
hospitality. #lovelioyerma

Amazing stay in a one of a kind property
My family (myself, wife and 11, 13 year old boys) had an amazing stay at the Windmill. It's such a unique experience and an incredible location. Manos and his family were so nice and helpful. The pool area was really nice, where we were able to cool off. There was always a reserved spot for us when we went and Manos and family gave us a discount on our food and drinks. The sunset views are to die for and the location is close to a mini mart that has all of the essentials. Thank you to Manos and his family for treating us like family and making our stay wonderful.

Exceeding expectations
Myself, wife and two teenage children had a fabulous three nights at the windmill. It is an amazing experience to stay in the property and whilst tight on space is high on fun, individuality and service. Santorini is renowned for being expensive but with a fantastic breakfast and 50% off all drinks our bill was meagre. Manos and his family ( special mention to Ellen) were fantastic hosts and went out of their way to make our stay special. On our departure day a ferry strike was called and they helped ensure we got to our next destination whilst many others did not.
Thank you!

Perfect location and wonderful hospitality...
Manos and his family go out of there way to make you feel at home while staying in this very unique and well-positioned windmill. There literally is not a better place to watch the sunsets each evening and to access restaurants and shops. There is also a mini-market very close by with all the essentials. The windmill was quite comfortable although I would not advise more than 3-4 people using due to size. There is parking available and when staying at the windmill, you get full use of the adjacent pool and bar/restaurant run by Manos' family. Highly recommended.

You will not find better hospitality on the island!
Four of us, two adult couples, stayed at Lioyerma during June.
First let me say that Manos, his family and staff were outstanding hosts. They paid great attention to our needs, went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and did this with laughter and smiles. All of us felt welcome and we enjoyed many conversations with the them.
The windmill is a true experience. It's a very unique place to vacation, and you are easily reminded of it's presence whenever you see an iconic photo of Oia...the windmill features prominently in nearly all of them. The windmill is well accommodated and suited our needs with basic supplies. Additionally It was cleaned daily, which was a great plus. It was a great place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone wanting a unique, non-traditional experience. One note is it is not a good place for those with mobility issues as the stairs between levels are steep.
The location is fantastic with grand, unobstructed views of the caldera from the windmill patios (there are two) and the pool. During sundown people flock to the area to watch the sunset, yet there were rarely large crowds which made it feel like a good quiet place.
Give Lioyerma strong consideration if your vacationing in Oia! Recommended highly!

Amazing hospitality
Manos was so great to work with. He arranged pick-up from the airport and drop-off at the port. He gave us the best restaurant recommendations and made reservations for us. Breakfast was included every day but it doesn't start until 9:30 am. Staying in a windmill was a cool experience and made for a good story but wasn't ideal for two couples. I think for a family where the kids can stay in the top room, it would be perfect. It's on the quiet side of Oia so you don't get a lot of crowds.

Location, hospitality, and unique accommodation
As you can see from every review below, Manos and his family run this property and the adjoining pool cafe. They are the best hosts you could ask for in Santorini. The location of this property is perfectly placed for visiting the Oia town center and Ammoudi Bay, while also offering a private view of the sunset. The windmill is one of only two on the island. It is so fun and unique - tourists passing by will envy your spot. My husband and I were treated like the king and queen of Oia by the family and the staff and we definitely hope to return.

Perfect Greek getaway
We stayed 3 nights in the Lioyerma windmill in the beginning of May, and we were so happy with our stay. The location of the windmill is perfect—close to the bars and restaurants in Oia but far enough down the island to offer some privacy. You can watch the sunset right for your private porch or at the Lioyerma cafe, which has the best view on the entire island. Manos and his family were incredible. They were so friendly and helpful. They did everything they could to make our stay perfect from cleaning to arranging transportation to preparing the best Greek breakfasts. We highly recommend the windmill.

A romantic snug with the best sunsets in Oia
The Lioyerma windmill is a romantic little get-away set in some of the most dramatic scenary in Santorini. In the evening, people flock from all over the island to this furthest point in the town of Oia to soak up the famous Santorini sunset where the windmill commands the perfect private patio from which to enjoy it. And they truly are breathtaking! Manos and family are incredibly welcoming and will do anything to make sure all your holiday needs are catered for, sorting out transfers, taxis, and restaurant reccomendations whilst keeping the windmill clean and the towels changed with a daily visit whilst you’re out. Accomodation includes access to one of the best pools in Oia, which offers an included breakfast, reserved sunbeds and special rates on the bar menu. The staff really looked after us whilst we were there. You can also enjoy a perfect sunset from here too if you fancy a more lively atmosphere.
We had a wonderful time and would reccomend to anyone looking for something a little different, cosy and romantic with a fantastic warm and welcoming host. Be aware that because this is a restored windmill, the stairs are steep, although this wasn’t a problem for us.
Thank you Manos and family and all the folks at Lioyerma. It was Perfect!

Great value for this unique stay!
It is not too often you get to say you stayed in a windmill - for that experience alone, I would recommend this. The windmill is on the quieter side of Oia, which we loved, but still steps away from everything! My daughters loved having the top floor, while my husband and I stayed on the bottom floor - close to the bathroom. You do have to be good with narrow stairs/ladder to get to the bottom floor, but we got used to that very quickly. What made this a five star experience was the treatment by Manos and his family and the staff at the pool bar (great pool, by the way). They treated us like royalty with welcome drinks/snacks, there was always reserved seats for us at the pool bar, a good-bye lunch, and even surprised us with bottle of wine and platter for our anniversary, which we enjoyed on our balcony over-looking the sunset. While everyone is scrambling to find a place to watch the sunset, you have your own private balcony to watch. This really was a perfect place for our family of four. A great value and highly recommended. Thanks Manos!!!

Services with the height, in the reception and in the daily relation. Clean windmill, near to the swimming pool, the beach and the city, located very well. Exceptional landscape with the privileged sight of the sunset but also of the volcano and the sea. To advise.
