Perfect for a family get away Dare Escape Beach House is ideally located in a quiet location in old ocean grove, close to everything: a cute dog friendly café around the corner, a short 8 minute walk to Ocean Grove beach or 3 minute walk to the river, and cafes and shops close by. This home sleeps 10, so ideal for one or two families, is child and dog friendly, with a secure yard.

With its clever and practical design of two living spaces, a big deck, Wifi, TVs and guests love that there is plenty of room for everyone, providing a relaxed, no-fuss and comfortable holiday.

We also offer full refunds if your booking is cancelled due to Victorian Covid metro or regional restrictions.

Dare Beach House has 4 bedrooms, accommodating up to 10 guests. There are queen beds in three bedrooms, and the 4th bedroom two sets of double bunks. The bedrooms are supported by two bathrooms. Linen is provided and towels can be booked at an additional cost.

The practical kitchen is well fitted out with crockery, cutlery, glasses, dishwasher and microwave. There are two separate living areas with WiFi, TV, DVD, air conditioning/ heating unit, and outside there is a gas BBQ and outdoor furniture.

This is a great beach house for a short week-end stay or an extended holiday break.

Dare Beach House is also a great location to explore nearby Barwon Heads, wineries and other attractions of the Bellarine or the Great Ocean Road.

We stayed for a week after Easter 2024 having previously stayed in 2023. Weather was not kind but we still managed some beach time. Property is well located - under15 min walk to beach or 10 min to city centre. Two bathrooms and toilets along with two lounge areas made for easy family living. Crockery and cookware is fine for simple meals but not for serious cooking. A modest home, secure yard, makes for a relaxing holiday.

Great location great for large family and dogs. Grass was very long at side of house could do with a bit of an update with furniture inside but comfortable. Kitchen cupboards very cluttered not much room for food storage for family for 4 days. Outdoor furniture bit rusted could be updated. Overall clean and suited us with family wedding locally.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this property and not only is the location ideal being close to the surf beach and main shopping strip but the property is ideal for a larger family and it is set back with a private yard where you can securely park multiple vehicles and has plenty of space for our furry friend to run around in.

The property is in an excellent location. Close to the beach and shops without being too close. Its very private, all rooms a good size and the kitchen well-appointed. Everything you need. We had an awesome time with family - at one stage three adult couples plus children. We also had two dogs, and the yard is very secure. The house is light, airy and very comfortable. We wouldnt hesitate to book a getaway here again. Thanks!

Great beachhouse. Quite rustic so you could relax but very comfortable. Excellent location, walked to beach, shops, easy cycle to Barwon Heads. Everything worked well. Comfy beds. Air con in main areas and fans in every other room in wardrobes. Great to have a second lounge and outdoor space for sitting and BBQ. Nice street and very quiet. Would love to stay again!

The property is well appointed with all needs for a family. Walking distance to shops, river and patrolled beach to swim in the ocean. Very quite as located at the back of a shared block of two residences. Murray our host was easy and timely with communication and arrangements. We recommend!

The location of the property & the layout & privacy of the house we’re excellent. Unfortunately the following issues existed as at 14 January 2023. Dear Murray We left your property today & would like to provide you with some feedback. The property has many great features - location, layout, comfortable chairs & sofa in main lounge, dining table, good fridge, good stove, good bbq. Unfortunately, we found a few significant issues that really pulled our stay down. As owners of a holiday rental ourselves, we understand that you don’t necessarily know about issues unless tenants tell you. While there were many good features to the property, our review will include mention of the following. Mattresses All mattresses are very poor quality & very uncomfortable. You can feel the springs in all of queen mattresses, especially the queen bed next to bathroom. My husband & I had to sleep on two of the single mattresses on floor. These still weren't great but were better than the queen bed option. Cleanliness inside There were many surfaces especially in the kitchen that were not clean. Dirt & hair in all of the kitchen draws & some of the cupboards. Cleanliness of glass The filth on the windows & doors was very noticeable. We cleaned the windows & sliding door that look onto the deck so we could see out of them. Pots & pans Other than the small fry pan, the Teflon coated pot, frypan & wok are unsafe to use due to severe damage. Drainage Drainage in both bathrooms is poor. Key box We couldn't get the front of the key box back on so couldn't use the key box at all. Therefore only one key between us all. If the above issues are rectified, the property would receive 5 stars from us.

House was perfect for our extended family group. Even though it is not large, it is so well designed that we felt we had plenty of space. Particulary appreciate the two showers, with 3 teenage girls in our group! Short walk to both main beach and shops, and host was very responsive. Very enjoyable stay.

My family, some friends and the hound enjoyed a wonderful 9 days at Dare Beach house. Great central location, close to river, beach, surf club, OG shops, an easy walk to all these, and easy scenic runs to beach, or along the river, to the Heads and further afield. The OG Parkrun start is literally at the (river) end of the street, 3 of us enjoyed participating in that as well as breaky afterwards at the Garage Cafe around the corner. The house uses its space well, with plenty of accommodation, 2 bathrooms and 2 living areas. We also enjoyed some Bocci on the new (synthetic) turfed area at the front. Our second stay here.

Plenty of room for our 2 families. Unfortunately the grass was being replaced so the 3 kids had limited play area & we didn't have a nice outlook but everything else was exactly as pictured. Communication with Murray was excellent.

Comfortable and surprisingly spacious house that had everything the 9 of us (6 adults, 3 kids) needed for our stay. The unexpected bonus was the awesome shower pressure and a seemingly never ending supply of hot water! Great location in a quiet street but within easy walking distance to the town centre, beach and river. The host responded very promptly to any questions. Would recommend.
