We have been for the second time in Cottage 215 and it was as lovely as the first time. The house is well equipped with everything you need for a holiday with family or friends. The location at the tip of Aughrus Peninsula is fantastic, you are literally surrounded by the Atlantic. All windows have sea view. No matter if the weather is nice and you enjoy your breakfast on the terrace or if it's stormy and you watch the rage of the elements outside through the panoramic window - it's always a great experience. And there is no better way to end the than with a peat fire at the open fire place.

I used to come to this area every summer when I was a kid, over 30 years ago now. It was great to be back and explore the place with my own kids. Weather wasn't great, but that was exactly how I remembered it. We had lots of fun, exploring the rock pools on the strand in Claddaghduff, and spent a day wandering around Omey Island, even catching a fish off the rocks. Cliften and Clean are both close, with really good seafood and other options. And we did a trip to Hillary Harbour and Leenaun one day too. The house was great, bigger than we imagined. We had loads of space, got the fire going, wifi was good, and the sitting room views out over the ocean were beautiful. Will definitely come back.

Outdoor Furniture
Fab view overlooking the sea but no outdoor furniture to sit outside and enjoy it bar a couple of white plastic chairs! Please please and also a barbecue would be fantastic. Still think 20e a day for electricity is outrageous!

Rural treasure
The natural location of this cottage is outstanding, there is everything you need in this house, not super modern but has all you require whilst on a break. If you can entertain yourselves, the water, the rugged landscape and the peaceful tranquility is ideal to get away from the day to day grind and refresh the soul. We highly recommend to families who enjoy a walk, a cycle, a swim, watersports or to groups who just want to get away from it all. We will return.

Location to die for
I love this place but some of the beds with their double mattresses could be replaced but it must be ok or we would not be back year after year

Great views tired house
Location is fabulous, ocean views all around. Quiet location so great for a week of relaxing/doing very little.
The house is tired (needs a paint) & some furniture (beds are old & seating by the fire is shabby) needs replacing.
The extra €20p/n for electricity is a rip off as the house is already expensive!!
Would recommend the location but the house needs work.

Yes the location is just amazing. Pity
As always a fabulous place however its a pity the large fridge freezer was not working the alternative is very small for 9 people!

Beautiful location
Had a lovely stay in a beautiful location. The views from the property and it’s situation out on peninsula are spectacular.

Great location was enhanced by the beautiful weather.
Really enjoyed the stay. Accommodation was fine although a little bit dated. If looking for peace and quiet this is the perfect location. The only drawback was the €20 per day cost for electricity. We were visiting sites most of the time and spent little time in the house as the weather was so good. The only electric shower in the property stopped working after 2 days, so the charge for electricity was even more bitter. €20 per day is at the top end for domestic property- especially in summer!!

What a beautiful place, and such a lovely relaxing house to stay in. There is everything available to have a really pleasant stay including an open fire and a really well-stocked kitchen.

Check sealant on fridge
Wonderful place but 20e a day crazy for electricity. Why not meter reading? Much fairer . Swimming in front of house gorgeous

Favourite Holiday House
This was our third visit and we are already planning the next. Absolutely our favourite place to stay.

I love the location but there are a few gripes
It's a fab location and the house suits us very well.
However I think that 20e per day is exorbitant and that the electricity should be metered. That would not be hard to sort and would be much fairer. This summer it was a joke with those very hot weeks. Why should a renter in July pay for a renter who has a wet week in August. Seriously unfair.
The barbeque should be either replaced or thoroughly cleaned it was unusable.
A salad spinner would really help.
Aside from the above its great

Beautiful Views
This cottage is in a wonderfully isolated cove at the end of the Cleggan peninsula, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The location is perfect if you want a quiet break with nothing to do but wander on the rocks by the sea and watch the tide ebb and flow (11 feet of vertical tide). There are pubs nearby, including some with music. The town of Clifden is about 25 minutes way, and the rest of Connemara is just beyond. Fishing and horseback riding are available within a 15-minute drive.
The cottage itself has everything needed for a getaway. It accommodates 7 comfortably. The kitchen is perfect unless you have several chefs at once. The sitting room has a magnificent view of the sea. WiFi, laundry facility, and dishwasher worked perfectly. The caretaker was friendly and helpful.

I'll Be Back
I have been staying in Connemara for 40 years and this house has been top of the list. The views are just captivating and the only sounds are the birds and the sea, great location with hours and hours of exploring/wildlife/activities on your doorstep. Great set up in the house with plenty of kitchen space and large dining table for feasting, whilst still enjoying the views. Decorated in keeping with the cottage with lots of really interesting pieces and good book collection. Lots of individual cosy spaces within the living areas so never feels cramped. Comfy beds (not always the case in rentals) and all home comforts you would require. Lovely atmosphere and feel to the house, i think lots of happy memories have be made here over the years. We plan on coming back to make more.

We had a very good week at this cottage in Claddaghduff. The house is beautiful, there is everything you need, nothing is missing to spend a pleasant stay. It is located in a quiet and splendid place with sea views from all sides. The dream!

Lonely, beautiful, quiet, rugged!
We stayed at Gannough's for 3 nights and would love to stay again. We loved how quiet it was, how we could sit looking out of the window staring at the beautiful coastline for hours. The house is clearly well-loved and cared for, we enjoyed the personal feel it had. The kitchen had all the utensils you needed, gas cooker and was clean. The bathrooms are simple but do the job well. Bed linen was clean and good quality. We would definitely recommend this to others and hope to come again.

It was really good as we were paying 10e a day for heating it would have been nice to have some fuel
Could not have been better and I am booking for next year we were an age range from 6 months to 73 years and the position of the bedrooms meant that we all had our space!!!

Ocean in our living room
Beautiful cottage. Very relaxing with incredible views of the ocean and the beach right in front. Great kitchen with large refrigerator. Excellent place to unwind and relax.

Perfect
OK so yes it is all about the view and what a view.
But this cottage also has excellent facilities and a quality finish in a perfect location.
Decent broadband also available although not stated in the description.
Only 3 other properties with it at the end of Aughrus point and the week we were there they were all empty.
So we had the whole place to ourselves, absolutely magical.

Beautiful location
Beautiful views of the sea which is only day 150m away via full length windows in the living area. Cottage was well equipped. Well looked after by Eileen who was very pleasant to deal with. Bit remote, which we liked, but need to stock up food etc in Clifden.

House with a view!
Despite of the cold and windy weather, we had a nice, relaxing time.
Beautifull view of the ever changing sea.
In the house we enjoyed the many books.

Location, location, location! Roomy, and right on the coast with a lot of nearby activities.
We enjoyed our stay thoroughly - from the hikes out the back door down to the shoreline, the views out the family room, and the area the cottage is located in. We enjoyed a the ferry ride and activities on Ishbonfin island (hiking, beaches), affordable fishing trip, horseback riding on the beach, great food, and fresh seafood at Cleggan - just a few minutes away. The local corner store can point you towards Johnny King who can hook you up with great crab claws and fresh fish, in addition to the fishing. Clifden is about 15 minutes away and has great shops and restaurants. Omey island is 5 minutes away; nearby is the abbey, national park, Clifden castle, etc...
The house feels like home - plenty of room, nice fireplace, well-furnished with lots of local history. We had one issue (no fault of the house - fuse went bad), and it was very promptly fixed - Eileen was great to deal with!
The view out the living room and off the porch is incredible - we cooked out on the BBQ multiple nights just to enjoy the view and sound of the ocean.
Look forward to our next trip back!
