About this house rental
Single story 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom house on large flat block located midway between seasonal patrolled surf beach and YMC beach. Easy walking distance to the beaches, cafe and surf shop at Smiths Beach. Great house for any season with bright open plan living/dining/kitchen. Well equipped kitchen has fridge, oven, microwave, sandwich maker, electric frypan, pod-compatible coffee machine plus dishwasher to make for happy chefs! Separate laundry with washing machine. TV and DVD players provided in both lounge and kids bedroom. Reverse cycle air conditioner provides heating and cooling. The first bedroom has 1 Queen sized bed, second bedroom has 1 Queen and 1 King Single bed with trundle. No Bunks! Outside there is a fully fenced backyard and double garage. Ample parking for both cars and boats. Due to neighbour disturbance plus past damage to the house (car reversed into house, holes in walls, etc.), we do not take bookings from people celebrating end of school (schoolies). What to do during your stay Bring your bikes as the bike track runs all the way to Cowes or San Remo. A two minute drive will take you to the Grand Prix track, 6 minutes to Cowes and 11 minutes to the Penguin Parade. Walk to the Smiths Beach surf shop and take a surfing lesson. Walk to the Smiths Beach cafe and enjoy a coffee and cake. Visit Churchill Island for the market or just wander around the homestead. Visit Cowes and enjoy dining in one of the many excellent restaurants and cafes. Check out our information folder for lots of other things to do. Great location. The house is comfortable. We had an issue with the toilet that was resolved quickly as the person in charge of the house was easy to get in touch with. We had a great time.

This is a great little beach house in a lovely location and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The problem is that a lot of things need fixing and/or updating to make it an exceptional stay.
Minor repairs need to be made or completed, and things like plumbing and power points need addressing (an awful lot of power boards) plus remotes for TV and Aircon were awful.
Would be a terrific house with these upgrades.
The host was super to deal with and I am sure is aware of these few issues.

We had a lovely time. Nice little house, easy walking distance to two beautiful beaches. Hot water in the kitchen would have made things much more convenient for us and the description of beds in the bedrooms on the website was not quite right. But otherwise a nice place, we would absolutely stay here again.

This is a nice little house in a lovely spot - walking distance to Smith's Beach and YMC Beach. Bit light on for some supplies (ie toilet paper, dishwasher tablets and bin bags) and couldn't get to the BBQ at all, which was a pity. Yard is well-fenced so furry friends can't escape to chase the bunnies.

Great location, amazing beaches we went in October so it was really quiet around the area, house was well equipped with everything you could possibly need.

My first trip to Phillip Island. This cottage really was the perfect base from which to explore the Island. Wonderfully tranquil. Well equipped. Ideally placed for morning/evening walks along Smiths and YCW beaches. I'll be back.

This Holiday house was everything we needed for a weeks getaway at Smiths Beach. Comfortable beds, open living and dinning area. Perfect backyard for our Beagle who joined us. We will stay here again without hesitation.

It's also only a short drive into Cowes. The house is clean and more spacious than the photos suggest. The kitchen had all the cooking, cutlery and appliances you could ever need. The laundry and washing line was great. The kids loved the collection of videos and PlayStation. This is a great place to stay!

Well appointed house in quiet street near beach
I’ve stayed here twice now. It feels like a home away from home. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed house with everything I need. Town is an 8 min drive away, beach is a 5 minute walk and lovely cafe and grocery store down the street. A relaxing and comfortable stay!

Everything you need
This is a compact property with a large backyard.
The TV remote was missing so we couldn’t use it, but the owners supplied a brand new TV the very next day.
house has everything you would need.
The cleaner needs to lift their game but the owners are going to rectify this.
Would definitely rent again.
Close to Victoria’s best beach.

Excellent stay great little holiday find...
We had a fantastic time during our holiday and the accommodation was good. The location is second to none really. Very short walk to the beach and the local surf shop just down the road. My kids had surfing lessons and went again the next day, in part because of the great proximity of our accommodation. We packed one last beach trip after we checked out. The owner was responsive to communication and we were able to check in early which was greatly appreciated. If you are planning to bring your own linen, I recommend bringing along mattress protectors as well. I was holidaying with small children and with kids you just never know! I always think a mattress protector is a must! If you are planning on cooking and you do not have too far to drive, I recommend bringing your own pan. Some of the cookware is not in the best condition. Contrary to other reviews, we found that the house was not as clean as advertised. There were heaps of dust bunnies under the beds and sofas. Pretty much on every surface that is covered by some furniture. Not a deal breaker but good to know. We had fun playing some of the games provided. All in all a pretty great place to stay. Hopefully we can return some day.
