About this apartment rental
The little palace where the la perla apartment is situated was built several centuries ago - as most of the Venetian buildings- and it has been difficult to restore to its original state.
Two full years of intense restoration has recovered its artistic and cultural beauty so well known all over the world.
The main structure has been kept due to strict rules of our monument conservation superintendence that forbids futuristic transformations.
LA PERLA apartment has three areas about the same size and facing the canal. We were able to obtain a large living room, a medium kitchen, three bedrooms, two large bathrooms without changing the outside fantastic look. From each room you can enjoy a unique panorama mostly on the canal and open space around.
The floors are in jroko wood cut in large boards and inserted along the wall in a wide sheet of Pietra d'Istria (recovered from the restoration) and treated with bee wax. This gives an extraordinary brightness to the room.
The bathrooms are really luxurious all in marble. The bathroom with bathtub is in pesco di Verona marble recalling the Istrian stone of the other room.
The bathroom with twin lavatories and shower is in flowery travertine marble and stone.
The original ceiling beams and the marmorino finishing of the walls, as well as all other details speak of a true Venetian house.
The furnishing is elegant. We chose good quality for the beds, the furniture and the well equipped kitchen. Avoiding any exaggeration. You have all the space to create your own atmosphere. The location of the house is rather central within walking distance you can reach the Academy area, the Frari and Saint Rocco churches. In 15 minutes you can go to Saint Mark's square and the Doge's Palace, via 22 marzo with its famous boutiques.
If you want to rest for a while you can sit in one of the small cafe in the minor squares inhabited by Venitians and not invaded by tourists. You can stroll in Saint Barnaba square or along the Zattere facing the basin. In the evening you can have a full immersion in the very lively campo Santa Margherita, general meeting point for a sprtiz, a Venetian typical aperitif.
This is our Venice, the Venice we like to offer you.

Great apartment! Rooms were big, spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped! We loved the location and the restaurants on the same street of the apartment. Venice was a great city to visit! I will stay here again! Thank you

This was a perfect space for our family!
Very comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to the water taxi stop. Many wonderful restaurants nearby. It was a great find!

The apartment was very well situated with lots of restaurants in close proximity and an easy 20 min walk to most of the key sites in Venice. It was very clean and was exactly as pictured on the website. The host was very easy to communicate with and even arranged the water taxi for us from the airport when we didn't get any response from the online bookings for the various water taxi companies and had someone meet us at the drop off point to help us navigate the short walk from there to the apartment. The views out the windows were classic Venetian and the building was fairly quiet for downtown Venice. A great choice for a family vacation!

We absolutely loved the apartment! It was located close to everything you need…Chiara was fantastic, providing us with everything we required to have a stress free vacation! Would highly recommend this apartment.

The property was in an excellent location, walking distance to many sights but far enough away to be in a quiet picturesque neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again on our next visit to Venice. In addition, our host was very knowledgeable and helpful.

What an experience to stay in a 1200 year old apartment! It was clean and completely updated and had all the amenities for our stay. It is located about a 20 minute walk to St. Mark’s Square, but away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping near the apartment and lovely cafe’s as well. There is a supermarket nearby also. Highly recommended!

We stayed here as a group of four for our last few days in Italy. My brother is blind so traveling is difficult and unpredictable. Italy in general was not good for traveling with any disability, blind was especially difficult. The host helped us book a water taxi and was very patient when we could not provide exact meeting times.

Great convenient location - spacious accommodation for 3 couples. Explore the local area for many local gems - food/wine. The greeting service was excellent

Loved everything about this location. Clean, well stocked, beautiful area of town, very short walk to the bus, etc. Definitely will stay here next time

Irene is an amazing host, the property is spacious, clean and with great views. Location is amazing, as it’s close to some of the water bust stations. Cannot wait to come back.

This is a very nice condo in the quiet and great Dorsoduro area. It is very near a vaporetto stop, a couple of great squares (many restaurants, shops and a market within) and major attractions. The condo is clean, pretty and suits 4-5 people well. AC is only a single unit in the living room but the bedrooms were comfortable at night. Irene met as at the vaporetto stop and communicated well on arrival day by Whatsapp and text. I don't think she uses the VRBO app for communication much (Whatsapp is much better anyway). She replied to questions promptly and provides a good welcome manual. Walking around Venice in alot of fun if your GPS is working. AM strolls are advised to avoid crowds and the annoying influencers and vane tourists who have to pose constantly. Lido beaches are worthwhile if you have the time. As for the accusations that the canals smell bad that is false. Venice is very clean considering the ridiculous tourist traffic. Would like to return for sure.

Situated in a perfect spot in a quiet neighborhood close to good places to eat and relax away from the mobs of the big tourist areas. Unusual to have such amazing views of the canals from multiple directions. An ideal spot for our family.

We loved our stay in Venezia and loved the apartment. It was exceptionally clean, well equipped for cooking, and close to 3 vaporeta stops. There is a market near by, some great restaurants and you can walk everywhere. Great communication with the owner. Quiet neighborhood that we loved. We will definitely be back as long as it is available. Thank you so very much. Can’t wait to return.

Pictures do not capture the beauty of this Villa. Very well equipped, clean and welcoming. Beautiful views of the canal and very easy to get to shops and restaurants. Yet very quiet and quaint. Cannot say enough about the property owner she is wonderful and will do anything needed. Highly recommending this property just perfect.

Convenient base for Venice wanderings
An excellent apartment overlooking a canal. A short walk from many places of interest. Definitely recommended.

The best city apartment that we've ever stayed in! Very comfortable with fully equipped kitchen and large bedrooms. Away from the madness of tourism . And yet close to the Canal Grande vaporetto and the major sights. Nice authentic restaurants nearby.

We have spent the last 5 days in Irene’s beautiful apartment in Venice. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 teenage children. The apartment was a very good size for us. 3 large bedrooms, large living/dining area and a kitchen which allowed us to prepare a couple of meals at home. It’s about a 15/20 minute walk to St Mark’s square, we never caught the vaporetto, we enjoyed walking everywhere. The checkin process was very easy and we were given lots of information about the room and surrounding restaurants etc. There is a supermarket about 5 minutes away. Nice and quiet position, heating worked very well. Grazie Irene

Great place, great owner, great location!
We couldn’t have been happier with the apartment!
We have 5 in our family-our 3 teenage sons and the 2 of us. The apartment gave everyone room to spread out.
Our visit came at a very difficult time for Venice with all the flooding. Thankfully it was back to normal by the time we got there. Irene was very gracious and flexible about the booking since no one could know how it was going to be or if we were going to be able to go!
The location is wonderful! Can’t beat opening the shutters to the view of the canal to know that you are in Venice!
The apartment was very clean. Erika met us and gave us a fabulous recommendation for a local place to eat. She also helped us get a sense of where we were on the island. The apartment was nice and warm when we got there, which was nice since it was a little chilly at the time.
The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of glasses, cutlery and dishes, and it was easy to find everything. There were also the basics like salt, pepper, sugar, tea and coffee. Much better than having to buy everything for a few nights stay!
The apartment is only a minute walk from San Barnaba square; a few minutes from the Accademia neighborhood and took us 10-15 minutes ( including a flood detour!) to get to St Mark’s Square. Walking from the train station was very easy, and about 15-20 minutes...faster than the vaparetto! Vaparetto stop is very close and easy to find. Just remember that there are LOTS of bridges in Venice, and that you will have to carry your suitcase up and down each one.:) Pack light!
If you want to feel as if you’re really in Venice, and get away from all the tourists, this is absolutely the place to stay! Enjoy!!

Excellent Venice Accommodations
This is a fantastic place to stay in Venice. The apartment has all the amenities and is very large. The kitchen is fully stocked and everything is so clean. I would highly recommend staying here.

nice place but property manager hit us up for another fee upon arrival that we never agreed to pay and I have bug bites all over my face and arms. Hope to death it is not bed bugs.

Under the Venice sun
My husband and I have been to Venice many times as he is originally from Padova. We have always gone to Venice for the day with the rest of the tourists. This time we were traveling with our two adult daughters and decided to try staying in Venice. Best decision we ever made and staying in this unit was fantastic. It is located in a quiet, local, beautiful neighborhood with the best of everything Venice within walking distance. The Vaporetto stop is close by. The apartment is immaculate and the kitchen better appointed than my own with everything we needed to prepare meals in house. Tastefully decorated with true Italian flare. Wonderful library and comfortable for the 4 of us. We were met on time by Erika who showed us to our place and pointed out great walking routes and restaurants along the way. I highly recommend this property for an experience you won’t soon forget. We most certainly will return. Gracie Mille.

Great stay in Venice
We had a great stay at La Perla. The checkin process was easy. Julia was very informative about the neighborhood and the flat. It was pretty hot when we were in Venice and the one AC unit wasn’t great for cooling the bedrooms, but we can’t complain too much. We were in Venice and had a blast.

Beautiful home and prime location
The property was clean and very close to great restaurants and a market. Far from the hustle and bustle from the tour area.
The only thing is that one of the shower drains worked slowly leaving a puddle while showering. Other than that everything was wonderful. I would stay again and refer this house to friends.
Thank you Irene for letting me stay in your property.

Venice Apartment
For reference this review is by a Canadian.
This apartment was perfect for the 5 adults who stayed here. Irene was very helpful, friendly, and had excellent advice for the best gelato.
The apartment was very well appointed with all the requirements one needs when travelling away. The location could not be beat, as it was quiet but close to everything.
The only minor improvement would be the addition of newer fans for the bedrooms as they are well used/loved and the AC (while excellent) was located in the living room.

Venice
Stayed in Venice for 2 nights. Here is a short summary of the unit based on our experience:
PROS:
*Location is just outside the tourist area.
*Location is next to a canal which you can view from two of the bedrooms
*Location is quick walk to restaurants and boutiques
*Can walk about 20 minutes to most sites from the unit
*Common Area has an A/C unit and is very comfortable
*Quiet area around the unit
*Large bedrooms
*One of the two bathrooms comes with a double sink
CONS:
*The only A/C unit is in the common area. The bedrooms are very hot during the August heat. The overnight air can help to cool the rooms, however the windows are without screens so we were unable to leave them open as mosquitos are nearby due to the water.
*The building does not have an elevator so please be aware in case you have heavy luggage or an elderly guest (Unit is on 3rd floor)
*The mattress was a bit short for anyone taller than 5'8"
Other info:
The water bus is very easy to use. You will want to purchase your tickets for the entire trip when you arrive as not all stations have ticket purchasing capabilities. We only purchased a roundtrip ticket as we walked everywhere, but there are multi-day passes as well. Please also note that you have to activate your ticket before you get onto the water bus. When we arrived at the stop closest to the unit we were greeted by the property manager. She walked us down to the unit and gave great information about the area around us.

Family trip to Venice
I took a family trip to Italy with Venice being our first stop. Right from the beginning, Irene was extremely helpful and very responsive. The apartment was very well located and within walking distance to all major locations. The apartment was as advertised and their was a supermarket nearby as well as many restaurants and cafe's. apartment can be reached by using the Alilaguna orange line and a 4 minute walk from one of the stops. Roberto met us at the stop and walked us to the apartment and showing us around at the same time. He is an extremely courteous gentleman and very helpful. The only one slightly negative comment that I would make is that the air conditioner didn't work as well as it could have. But, to be fair, it was very hot during our stay.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone.
Pleasant travels.

Great place to stay!
We had a a great stay in Venice! The property manager met us at the dock and walked us to the apartment. She was outgoing, friendly and had great suggestions on where to go and places to eat! The apartment was spacious and comfortable for the six of us! The location was great and a nice change a pace away from the tourist section of town.
The living room has air conditioning but bedrooms have fans so , it can get warm on those hot summer nights.
We a great time exploring and the view from our room was just perfect!!
Hope to be back someday!!

Hot Stay in Venice
From initial contact and up to arrival Irene was great to deal with. We met Giulia at the water bus stop and she was great, full of knowledge and lots of tips for our stay.
The layout of the apartment was great, spotlessly clean, however one air con unit in the lounge is not enough to cool the property in the summer months. There was a ceiling fan in the main bedroom and a cooling portable fan in another however this was inadequate in summer months. Guilia was great and brought us up another 2 fans but I have to say we had 3 uncomfortable nights sleep. Resulted in the evening sleeping in the lounge near the air con unit!!!!! Overall I would say this apartment is great in the winter and spring but too hot in the summer. The location is great and had fantastic canal views . Conad supermarket just round the corner as well which worked well. 5 minutes walk to the apartment from water bus stop Ca’Rezzonico.

Wonderful stay in Venice
Our stay at Irene’s place was amazing. We had great coordination throughout the process. The apartment was spotless and well positioned. It is in a quiet location (which we preferred) and no more than a 20 minutes walk to the train station or San Marco. The rooms worked well for our family of four.
We enjoyed our stay. Our host recommended La Profeta restaurant a half block away - we ended up eating there two nights! We highly recommend for future travelers.

Beautiful Venice Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Venice at this beautiful Vrbo. Very clean and beautifully decorated. Wished it had an elevator because of all the luggage we had. Would highly recommend this gorgeous flat 😀
