Nice location. Everything else is less nice.
The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood, close to the beach.
Most things. First of all, the location on booking and Google maps is wrong. It's called Chez Evelyne on Google maps, we didn't find it at first. Luckily, our taxi driver was more helpful than our host. Second of all, the room is a bit small and you're not allowed to use the kitchen or other areas, except for the bathroom. We thought we could use the kitchen for breakfast, but no. You're also behind a little curtain, because she sleeps in the other room. You have to walk past her to get in and out. I also had to wear a face mask for a brief moment inside, despite me being tested for COVID-19. When we arrived she poured us two glasses of rum and asked for a 10 point review on booking. So if you're curious of what the high reviews are, here's your answer. The room is extremely hot and the fan isn't the best. However, there's AC for 0.5€/hour. We would happily pay this, but it didn't work. It only worked on a freezing cold mode, so we didn't use it. The bed is quite small and sweaty. I also killed a cockroach when I went to the bathroom at night. It's also worth noting that the host comes off as quite fake. She seems very helpful and nice at first, but she's very rude whenever you ask for something. Upon departing the trash bin was full, so we stacked our trash next to it. She had the audacity to write to us and call it a pigsty. I have stayed at hundreds on places on booking, and I usually don't expect much. I slept on a wooden board in Malaysia and behind a shower curtain in UAE. However, this has been one of the worst experiences. Don't be fooled by the price! Spend 10€ extra and stay somewhere that will bring you happiness.

So much positive energy in such a little body!
Evelyne was extraordinary in her hospitality, never seen an old lady with so much positive energy. She's a super host, and her dogs are best, they are friendly and respectful! Even if we can't speak French and she can't speak in English, she did everything it was in her hands to make us able to communicate. The breakfas was as well very nice, fresh fruit, toasts, coffee...what else can you ask for? And last but not least, she reccommended us a place to have dinner, and the choice was perfect!!
The location that the map shows is not her place, it's the school where she meets wlth the customers. Finding her house was a little bit of a mission, although we calles her and in less than a minute we met to go together at her place.

Hospitable Host Provided a Highlight to our Trip
The host, Evelyne, was very kind and welcoming. We spoke a bit of French but she was willing to have long conversations with us through French and had lots of interesting information to share. She drove us to our bus stop in Le Marin and brought us to one of her favourite beaches along the way. The house is full of personality and Evelyne explained how and why she gathered her menagerie of objects and souvenirs decorating the walls and shelves. The bedroom is comfortable, there is a fan & air-con. There is a mosquito net and the window has a mosquito net over it so it can remain open at night. The WiFi is strong. The house is a long-ish walk into Sainte Anne town, but a very short walk to get to one of the most popular beaches in the area. The breakfast was simple and tasty, and all the bowls are made by Evelyne from coconuts! I would recommend this place for people visiting Sainte Anne.

Host is very generous and will help you in any way she can. You can feel at home here when you have just arrived in Martinique.

Looking for a place in St. Anne? Look no further. Go here!
Simply amazing for its rooms, its location and above all: dear Evelyn, the manager. We ended up here due to unfortunate events in the midst of Covid and had a ton of problems to solve. This place was the answer to all our needs and we couldn't have been luckier having landed here. The property is really a set of apartments, perfect for a family stay, several families sharing an apartment, or the backpacker willing to share common spaces (kitchen, in some apartments also the bathroom). Lovely kitchen and sitting room and outside, breezy, dining area. We felt right at home. A few minutes away from the beach in a quiet, very safe neighborhood. Cheap in comparison with other properties. We went there needing wifi, which ended up not being available (internet is crazy expensive in Martinique, so maybe this was due to covid and low number of travelers), but the manager was so incredibly kind and solved that for us. She also helped us in the process of solving all our other issues (finding transportation, finding flights, getting our covid test done, she even gave us a ride when there was no bus!). In short: we would go here again, and even visit Martinique again just to stay at this lovely place and greet the manager. If you go there after reading this: give the lady a big old hug from us!
