They should do a limited buffet bar in the am I think it would be profitable and good for guess, a chance to mingle with others - may be less waste.
I have diabetes and there should have been other options for breakfast

Staying here was big fun. A quick ferry ride and you feel like you've really escaped NYC, and the campground was great -- tents/beds are comfortable, staff is helpful, loved the campfires and hammocks. My daughter and I loved it and would totally do it again.
$20 for a beer? What's up with that? Cocktails and wine more reasonably priced, not sure what the deal is on beer pricing, but I went to get one and had to abort, being congenitally incapable of dropping $20 for a brew. It was quite loud in the morning due to helicopters -- not their fault and they warn you about it and supply earplugs, but FYI.

I loved mostly everything about our stay. The location was great, my surroundings were peaceful quiet and relaxing. It was so pleasantly strange to be so close to the city and have that much peace! The facilities were kept very clean so we were extremely satisfied with that. Initially, we were worried about how the outdoor bathrooms might be...they were great. The Byredo soaps...like a spa experience. I even looked them up online to purchase for my own home. I loved the comfort of our journey tent and the bed was incredible! We had everything we needed right in our little tent and it was so great to experience the sounds of nature (crickets and the water) and having the luxury of being "indoors" while still feeling like you were outside. I slept like a baby.
The food at the Three Peaks Lodge was a HUGE disappointment. As beautifully presented as it was it was extremely over-seasoned and so salty our dishes were practically inedible. We were really looking forward to dinner, I even timed my reservation so that we could see the sunset and from the description on the website I thought we were in for a lovely dining experience. Although our server was an absolute doll, we had to send our first entrée back (the shrimp fettuccine) because the pasta was extremely salty. My fiancé and I use quite a bit of seasoning so we aren't afraid of flavor. Furthermore my mother and brother are chefs so we are foodies with an experienced palette. When I apologized for sending the dish back the server asked me not to apologize for "my taste" and I felt like she was insinuating that it was me that had the problem. I also asked if it could be re-made without so much salt and she told me that this dish was "pre-marinated" and that if I ordered it again it would taste the same., I have never heard of pasta being pre-marinated. We ordered something else and it wasn't bad. The following morning we attempted to dine again at the Three Peaks and had the same problem with our breakfast. We ordered eggs and potatoes with a side salad and toast. EVERYTHING had been seasoned so heavily that again it was almost inedible. The chef really has to cut back on the salt and allow patrons to add more to their liking. Even my toast was generously dusted with salt and pepper. Toast? We were so bummed and although we will be visiting again we most definitely will not be dining at the restaurant again.

Our tent was wonderfully appointed and the property grounds and views were amazing.
The noise level at night was unbearable. We did not sleep. There are party cruise boats that dock right in front of the property until 4am and play music so loudly that can be heard for miles. Some disclosure about this given the price for a one night stay would have been appreciated.

I was there with my twins and their families. Breakfast was in a fun location (tent) and quite good.
I liked everything.

The city views.
Our bathroom tent made an awful, loud, disgusting pumping noise for the entirety of our stay making it impossible to sleep. Management was non-responsive. The issue was never resolved. I would never pay for this experience again.

Breakfast was good, but the french press had the wrong size insert so when you poured your coffee you got lots of grounds. Since we have a french press at home, we knew how it should work.
When we arrived it was 105 deg. Ice and cold water in the Yeti cooler would have been very helpful. Working with the look for the place would help. Use plants from the dessert. The place looked uncared for. Trees not trimmed, weeds and parched earth and rocks with no real paths. Our tent had an opening in the top and so when it rained it came in while we were sleeping. No covering over the porch area, so the sun was beating down on us.

the scenery and views
terrible weather, do not book in early May ! it was super windy. their restaurant menu sucks, they changed it for the worse. I recommend bringing your own food to the island but what’s the point if a stay if food is provided but it’s not enjoyable

it was a perfect escape from the city. the accommodations were cozy, clean and exactly the glamping experience I was looking for
the hot water didnt work in one of the showers. the paths between tents was unkempt. it would make the experience better if the grounds were as maintained as the center of the area

Our stay at the Collective on Governors Island was one of the most unique, peaceful, and enjoyable experiences I have ever had in New York City. The retreat is absolutely bucolic. The accommodations and views are spectacular, and the service is impeccable.
I should have planned to arrive earlier and leave my bag to explore the island. This was no fault of The Collective, just poor planning on my part.
