Our second stay here and still love it! Terrific walk-to-everything location and plenty of space for our family. Thank you for another great trip!

We stayed at this property as a home base for daughter’s wedding this past weekend. The home is lovely, in a great location and has plenty of room to spread out. The third floor master suite was a such a great surprise. It has its own en-suite bathroom and a very large walk in closet which was so helpful for all the wedding attire to be stored. The back yard is so cute and has a great deck and sitting area. For the coffee loves, there is both a Kuerig and a Nespresso machine. The beds were very comfortable. 10/10, we had a great stay and you can walk right around the corner to downtown Newburyport where all the shops are.

My husband and I stayed with our teenagers and their cousins for a quick stay. The house is spacious for all of us and very well kept. the area is nice and there are many small shops and restaurants in walking distance. We had an issue with fire alarms randomly going off in the middle of the night while we were sleeping. We were unable to turn them off or reach the owner but had to call local fire department to come help reset.
A few other things that need to be updated; none of the bathroom or bedroom doors lock; the towels are old and worn out; and there were so many leftover toiletries and condiments/spice/food leftover from the previous guests and need to be thrown out.
Overall good location with spacious rooms, just needs deep cleaning and some updates.

This 3 story house was very well equipped with all amenities for any length stay. Beautiful kitchen which we used minimally due to the numerous excellent restaurants within easy walking distance.

This is our second time staying at this property. The best part is the location which is right in town. The courtyard in back is so peaceful and loved having coffee outside every morning. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are extremely comfortable. It’s a little “rustic,” but completely perfect for us. The house is very charming, clean, and a perfect spot for a family!

This was my 3rd time renting this house and it doesn't disappoint! Location is perfect, rooms/beds are comfortable and well appointed (lots of hanging/storage space), great living/entertaining space. If I had to list a "down-side", it would be the parking...you can only fit 2 cars for a 4 bedroom house, and the street parking is for 2 hours, so we had to continually shuffle cars and/or walk to the parking lot a distance away. Not a fault of the house/owner...just something to be aware of if you have more than 2 cars (perhaps a street parking permit could be issued to renters for their time there?) Regardless, I would rent for a 4th time if the occasion arose!

Very accurate listing. Clean and well-stocked, and quite cozy. As others have said, this is a good rental for someone who likes old house charm, not someone who needs wide hallways and access for disabled people. Location is great. Parking is tight, typical for Newburyport. I appreciated that towels and blankets were plentiful. If you prefer a plush towel, you may want to bring your own. Kitchen is excellent compared to other rentals - it has the basics you need but hate to buy just for a weekend, and more than enough tableware. Nice!

Stay was just what we hope for: plenty of room; comfortable beds; and very walkable to downtown. Photos were accurate and everyone enjoyed our stay.

We stayed with family over Christmas weekend and the house was great. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas which was a nice bonus! The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. Also can’t beat the location - we walked downtown several times.

Needed a large enough home for 8 adults and a one year old. Our adult children and their SO were getting together with us to celebrate our first grandchild's christening. This house was perfect. A meticulously kept, beautifully decorated Captain's house that was a short walk to everything Newburyport has to offer.
Highly recommend.

Our family was able to reconnect with one another during our stay. Enough communal space, a kitchen with cooking supplies, and private spaces and rooms upstairs. The mattresses were comfortable and the upstairs shower was fabulous. Newburyport is super cute and close with good shops and boardwalk.

We had a great stay. Great location and clean. Perfect for what we needed.

This home is well located in close proximity to all the fun that Newburyport has to offer. It's relatively quiet area, and parking was sufficient.
Beyond that, we were on the whole, disappointed by the upkeep and maintenance of the home. The flooring on the ground floor buckled up in areas. The awning over the outdoor table was ripped and rigged to the fencing. There were ample towels but they were old and over used. The BBQ was filthy - could not have been cleaned recently. One toilet seat was broken. Unlike the photos, the living spaces were cluttered (including redundant appliances -e.g., 3 coffee makers in the kitchen) and the furniture was only partially as shown in the photos. The landscaping is not as nicely maintained as the photos depict, and the structure needs a serious power washing to remove mildew. Given the high per-night price, cleaning fees and deposit, we were very disappointed that the property wasn't better cared for.

We had an amazing week staying here. The beds were extremely comfortable and had a ton of room for our family of 5. The kitchen was well stocked and tons of towels. The location was the best part- 2 minute walk from everything! We look forward to coming back!

This location was perfectly close to town-- walking distance to shops and restaurants and enough distance for our visitors to be able to park on the street.
The house felt homey and was very well equipped.

Mothers/daughters trip. It was great to have 4 rooms, 2.5 restrooms. It’s a historic home so lots of steep stairs. Back patio area was perfect. The kitchen was stocked. We went to plum island and had wished there were some chairs or umbrellas to use, but that would have been the icing on the cake. It was wonderful and very comfortable! Location could not have been more perfect.

Was a great place to stay for our family to get together. Beautiful old home. All beds were comfortable with the exception of the top floor bed. The dryer definitely needs to be repaired as the door doesn’t shut so we had to use tape. Second floor sink needs to be snaked or something. First bedroom on 2nd floor has some very loose floorboards. Top floor is very warm. I gave five starts because we truly loved the home. Loved the location. We had an amazing time.

Easy lock on door for check in but Picture on VRBO shows red door! It's black now so harder to spot when arriving. Navigating big car on this street and for parking is challenging fyi. House is spacious! Lots of stairs should be mentioned in description...maybe we overlooked? Please replace carpet on lower staircase, very old and dirty....maybe add carpet to upper stairs, might be safer. Would suggest arriving with some basic groceries....not much grocery shopping very close. 7 eleven type store about 4 blocks which works in a pinch for the basics! Overall, a great place to be close to shops, restaurants etc...Newbury Port has many good restaurants, wonderful town to stay in.

We highly recommend this fantastic property. There was plenty of room, great location, cozy, comfortable, well decorated and with all amenities you could think of. When we visit Boston again… we will be looking to stay here if there is availability. Thank you so much… It was absolutely FABULOUS!!

The house is in a great location, close to downtown and all the shops and restaurants. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. A few things the owners may consider for future renters would include new sheets, linens and pillows, and new bath towels. The kitchen could use some updating, and a few pods for the coffee machines would have a been appreciated. Overall a good stay and the location can’t be beat.

We stayed over the Christmas weekend. The home was beautifully decorated inside and out which my family loved! This home is in such a great location. Short walk to restaurants and shops in downtown Newburyport. There was plenty of room for my family of 7. I agree with other reviews - the kitchen is pretty well stocked with dishes, silverware, and cookware. There is a Nespresso, Keurig and a regular coffee pot as well. Also has a tea kettle on the stove.
It was a bit drafty, but to be expected and we were able to adjust the thermostat when needed. The upstairs was already warm and comfortable. The driveway only fit two of our cars but that was not a big deal. We parked my sons at a nearby park n ride lot at no cost for the weekend.

Couldn’t have asked for a nicer place for our family to stay for my son’s wedding. The Christmas decorations were sweet and added to the festive and happy occasion.

We couldn't have been happier with this sweet home. There was plenty of room for 7 adults and was in walking distance of great restaurants and shopping in downtown Newburyport. The house and town both had wonderful charm and would suggest staying here and in this town to everyone! Loved it!

Great location, nice big kitchen. Family of 3 generations, we all fit nicely. Loved walking into town. Luckily our 3 cars fit into the driveway at night - it was tight, but no overnight parking on the street!!

We're a group of friends from high school celebrating a BIG birthday. We arrived not knowing it was Yankee Homecoming week. Sidewalk sales, concerts in Market Square every night and fireworks works.... Just for us???Except for going to the beach, we never got in the car. The house is a few short blocks to shops and restaurants and we got our steps in every day. Many clothing shops, restaurants as well as ice cream and the Angry Donut. House is very well stocked, comfortable and clean. FYI, coffee maker is a keurig or French press. Just meant a 2 block walk to the first many coffee shops every morning. Also, there is a market 2 blocks away with everything from bacon to sweatshirts. Bike/walking path is surprisingly well decorated with sculptures and art work. Beautiful city, beautiful house. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
