The property owner cannot be faulted with her kindness and consideration. We felt that the cleanliness could be improved, and we felt that there was an excess of clutter contained in the residence.

We spent ten days in mid-May 2023 in the well-equipped house of Sophia and Mogens who received us very friendly and provided us with good tips, interesting information and small attentions. We don’t miss anything.
The house is very individually furnished with a lot of love.
Highly recommended.

Everything we expected and more. Sophia and Morgens are wonderful hosts. Wonderful hints for places to eat and things to see and how to avoid any driving problems. We were there for two weeks and wished we could stay longer.

From communications before arrival to a goodbye at the gate the hosts were wonderful, attentive and very helpful. My wife had been walking through Italy for three weeks while I was leading a scooter tour around Greece. The plan was for me to join her in Italy but the Peloponnese was cooler and had much less tourist so she joined me. We were looking for a nice quite comfortable place to spend some time and Casa Sophia exceeded our expectations. Though we spent most of our time on the terrace reading or walking locally, we made a daily venture up the mountains to one of the small villages for lunch. Or, we drove the quick 5 minutes down the mountain to one of the local beach towns. This was a fantastic break for us and Casa Sophia and it's location is what made it so.PS: even the knifes where sharp.

Wunderschönes Haus in denkmalwürdigem Dorf

Schönes altes Haus Toller Blick Absolute Ruhe

Wonderful location
Casa Sophia is situated in very picturesque mountain village.
We found the apartment spacious, atmospheric and cosy and well equipped. The terrace is beautiful and offers an amazing view over the coast. Apartment and village are extraordinarily quiet and private. It is perfecly set for excursions and hiking tours into the mountains, but also in close distance to the sea, costal villages and restaurants.
We were more than happy to have found the beautiful place and had a very relaxing and verstile holiday.
Sophia is very welcoming, warm, supportive and discreet. It was a pleasure being her guest.

Tolle Unterkunft!

Beautiful, comfortable place to re-set and recharge.
Our hosts provided a ready-made canvas for relaxing and rejuvenating. Casa Sophia is an impeccably well-equipped place with lovely attention to detail and where everything from the books to beach equipment has been considered. The jewel of a terrace has a view like no other across the bay. Our 'Welcome pack' of food and wine was such a kind and generous addition. It is a sturdy solid 'home' steeped in history. It's decorated beautifully and is comfortable enough to spend all your time there if you felt like it. The handwritten information pack our hosts provided was invaluable and came out of experience rather than hearsay. They were there when needed and answered all of our daft questions! It is a perfect base for exploring mountains or coast in a stunning part of Greece that would shine anytime of the year.

Perfekter Urlaubsort

Great for walking!
We were greeted by Sophia on arrival, fairly late in the evening and having showed us around, discretely left us to get settled. She had left us some provisions to get started., oranges from her tree (wonderful for breakfast), milk, eggs wine beer, olives, feta and bread. The apartment is wonderfully traditional with a beautiful terrace full of pot plants, herbs and the smell of orange blossom was ever present. We came to do some walking and the Mani doesn’t disappoint, breathtaking scenery, lovely mountain villages and friendly people. Some of the paths we took were very overgrown however and needed a machete! We were too early in the season for swimming, though it was hot enough some days to visit the beach. Stoupa and Agios Nicholaos are lovely and close by with plenty of tavernas, but you need to drive. Sophia was happy to advise and give directions and there were plenty of maps and guides in the apartment. The only downside for us was that the village does not have a taverna, which meant having to drive to go out and eat and one of us not having a drink. It is however a great location for exploring the Mani. Thank you Sophia and Mogens for your hospitality and a lovely stay, you are so lucky to live there!

Gemütliche Ferienwohnung in ursprünglichem Bergdorf

A lovely historic villa
We loved our stay in Casa Sophia. The location is fantastic. You can beach in the morning and explore the mountain villages in the afternoon. This casa is a wonderful jumping off point. The little village is so peaceful and you feel as though you have stepped back in time. Sophia C. is a lovely hostess, there when you need her but completely respectful of privacy. We especially appreciated the welcome goodies she left for us.

Sehr schöne Wohnung - sehr angenehme Vermieter - sehr gute Lage

Paradise with a view
Our first impression of Casa Sophia was the description and photo on the website. Following our booking we received a wonderful description of Sophia and Mogens home and, the surrounding area. We drove from the North West of The Peleonnese using the descriptive guide from Sophia and Mogens and arrived, with no hickups, late in the afternoon. The surprise awaited us!!!!! We parked our car out of the village and walked slowly through the narrow, cobbled roads and lanes to the beautiful wrought iron front gates of Casa Sophia.
Sophia greeted us with a welcoming smile and showed us through her gorgeous home.
Once we stepped onto the terrace and, then inside, the peace came over us. The house offered us all we wished for, including some extra goodies! We made ourselves at home and sorted out our luggage as we had been travelling for 3 weeks. Sophia kindly washed our travel soiled clothing and offered us suggestions of the different possibilities of exploring the mountains or the coastline.
We spent our days arising late, enjoying a delicious breakfast on the terrace listening to the birds and gazing at the azure Mediteranean Sea. Off in the car exploring the mountain villages was an adventure and great fun discovering the spots to stop for a Greek salad and coffee - one under a 100 year old Sycamore tree. The Bysantine Chapels and churches are very special in this area and well worth stopping to take a look inside. As it was very hot we always made it to the sea for a late cooling swim, headed back to Pygos, refreshed ourselves and then drove 10 mins to one of the seaside villages for a delicious Greek meal.
Thank you very much Sophia and Mogens for our wonderful stay in your home and congratulation on making it such a special place.
We will recommend Casa Sophia on the Mani in the Peleponnese to our friends, family and travel agent.
Go well both of you. Warmest regards, Kerrie and Rob

Hidden gem
We have just returned from a really wonderful 9 days at Casa Sophia.
The property is ideally locate for anyone who wishes to have a peaceful holiday. As soon as we arrived we realised we had found a real gem - not only for it's position in a beautifully quiet village in real, old Greece but also for the comfort, facilities and most of all the stunning views from the terrace.
You can see the love Sophia and Mogens have put in this place, as the 350 years old house was very tastefully restored and decorated without compromising the comfort of modern life: air conditioning, wi-fi etc. Waiting for us in the fridge there was a welcome pack with fresh food and a bottle of wine (very thoughtful of Sophia).
We were spoilt for choice for wonderful tavernas in Stoupa - all offering traditional greek food in lovely settings. Sophia has recommended a lovely taverna ten minutes away up in the mountains where we had amazing food, lovely wine and the company of the owners Yoanna and Dimitris.
In an essence, we loved the place. To say it exceeded our expectations is an understatement and if we could award a 5.5 out of 5 we would be happy to do so!
Overall we had a fantastic time and will definitely return to Casa Sophia.

Atmospheric, comfortable, traditional village house.
Our week at Casa Sophia in mid May was just perfect. I don't think we've ever rented a more well-equipped house; nor a prettier one. Our hosts were great. They were available for directions and inspiration for trips around the area but we were otherwise unaware that they live downstairs. Pyrgos is a very traditional village complete with friendly cafe/bar just a short stroll from the house. We loved the terrace; amazing starry skies and sunny lazy afternoons.
Lovely.
