Really friendly host and nice common area
The location it outside town so you just need to take a taxi or bus (depending on the time of day)

The best thing about staying in a guest house is getting the opportunity of seeing what it’s like to live like a local. Which is exactly what it felt like. The owner was very friendly when we communicated with him. Very quiet neighbourhood
When we arrived no one answered the door, after waiting 20 minutes someone (not the owner) arrived to hastily hand us the keys and show us our rooms before storming off again. We did eventually get to meet the owner which was 5 minutes before our check out. He was absolutely lovely but we wished we could experience all the wonderful things written about his hospitality in other reviews.
Another thing: our room had a weird odour that wasn’t present in the rest of the house. This wasn’t super pleasant but after 10 minutes our noses got used to it so it was doable.

Feels like we are staying in a family home. Everything is so neat and clean. Kitchen is fully equipped tho’ we didn’t use except having coffee.
Owner is extremely kind and friendly. He loaned us bicycles to cycle to the Takayama Old Streets and it was an amazing experience exploring the streets in the evening/night.
Room for 4 is a bit small but manageable

Everything in the house, spacious and clean. The bathroom is downstairs and that has no problem at all. Nera to the shrines and is a good walk to the market and local friendly restaurants nearby. The host is awesome!
Nothing

The host was extremely kind and even drove us into town twice when we explained someone in our group had gotten heatstroke. The beds were SUPER comfortable!

The owner was super helpful and he even dropped us to the station during our checkout time. This small touches will always be remembered. Thanks again :-)

Muramatsu is such a kind host, and you could see how much care and attention he put into making his place a nice day for his guests! Thank you Muramatsu for the ebikes, the coffee, the lift to the station and for letting us use your washing machine. Definitely our favourite place to stay in our entire Japan trip. Everything was so comfortable and we really enjoyed staying there.
Nothing!

The host was lovely. We missed our train to Takayama for the first night and he didn’t charge us.
A little bit out of town. But was actually ok to walk and look around the suburbs once there
4.7
Super kind hosts, very authentic room in a small house.
A bit outside the city center, but everything can be reached by walking.

The host is warm & welcoming. He was really gracious despite our extremely late check in (we arrived at 10pm!). He has taken trouble to ensure the house is set up well, with English instructions and good WiFi. Comfy beds and free parking space was available (the town parking is 100+ yen per 30 mins, so the free parking was appreciated). Free coffee and tea was available, along with full sized toiletries in the bathroom (soap/shampoo/conditioner/towels). Even had a little bath tub & the water pressure was great.
Nothing I didn't like. We had a car and it was very convenient.

Both the owner and his brother were very friendly. The rooms (there are 2 rooms upstairs) are quite spacious and the beds are comfortable. Downstairs is a cosy living room, small kitchen, toilets and bathroom. We felt like home!
It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the centre of Takayama, but we read that upfront and could even use 2 bikes from the guest house to get there.
Good value for money!

The house is small but is very cozy and traditional.
Beautiful living room and all the amenities have instruction labels.
It is located in a very peaceful and scenic neighbourhood.
The host is also very welcoming and friendly. We wished we could have stayed longer to get to know him better.
The bathroom could have an extra section to place our toiletries during a shower

Cozy small traditionnel place , with a super heartwarming owner !
A bit far on foot, but pretty easy to reach!

It is a cozy, beautiful and clean house. The owner is very nice, and warm. There are a lot of details in the house which makes our stay very comfortable, for example, free towels in 2 size for our use; free coffee and tea; kitchen can be used; a curtain for us to connect toilet and bathroom during use...etc.
The beds are very comfortable and the room is big enough.

Clean and cosy homestay, the host is very friendly in ensuring that I am taken care of. He has a simple map which indicates the nearby to-go location, for example, 7-11, Onsen where locals go to.
Generally it is alright for anyone who like to explore the are. The distance from the city center is abit far. Nevertheless, it is a good getaway from the busy center and I get to stroll around the neighbourhood in the early morning. Go for it to experience how locals' life was.

The owner of guest house is very friendship and kindness. He transposted all from guest house to station. I never seen before like as him and he is nice person.
