All was great. Only want to point out that the door leading into bathroom was stuck and appears to be water damaged or rotted in the bottom. Also could not turn on the main light by living room/kitchen area.
Not complaining, just thought you should know.

Great location! Only complaint was the entry door was in bad shape and could only be opened and closed with effort. It would be great if you could somehow add a visitor parking spot.

Great location, reminded us of what we love, Old Florida!!!!! We did have an issue with a leak and the Host was awesome in getting it corrected and didn’t interrupt our vacation one bit! Thank you again for a great place to stay!!

This was the perfect get away spot! Communication with home owners was spot on with details about stay, check-in, and local attractions. Very clean and comfortable. There was even a tray of teas, snacks, and amenities. My biggest dilemma was deciding whether I wanted to hang out at the pool or the beach. Tough decisions! I highly recommend Mermaid's Retreat!

Our boys (10,12,14) loved fishing off the dock and each of them caught some fish. The short walk to the ocean was a daily event. We found shells and shark teeth! The sunsets on the ocean were great. We grilled each night, swam in the pool, made ourselves pina coladas and took advantage of the peace and quiet to read books and play games. We had a great time!

Everything at this property was wonderful! Very peaceful and relaxing! The Mermaids Retreat was absolutely magnificent. It was very clean, comfortable and welcoming!
It was more than we expected and offered special touches. There was nothing that we did not like, and we highly recommend! We will most certainly stay again!!!

Was a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation. The rental had everything you could possibly need. Amy was very happy to help you with suggestions about activities in the area. The pool was not heated when we arrived and they had the pool guy there the next morning to have it fixed. The private beach across the street was beautiful!!! They provided beach chairs and towels as well. Would definitely stay again!!!

Great view right on the bay. Easy check in and out. Lots to do in the area. Beaches were just perfect. If your a shell hunter, theres not a better area. The apartment was very relaxing and felt like home. Already planning to go back!

Great location with a beautiful beach! We had a wonderful detail stay while on Manasota Key. Beach was a convenient walk from the Blue Island Inn. The host Amy gave us some great recommendations for dinners out. The state order at the end of the island had some great walking trails with beautiful views! Highly recommend!

The location and view were awesome, place was very clean, stocked with all the amenities you would need. My partner and I loved watching the sunrise in the morning and even got to do some fishing off the dock. Hosts were very communicative and available for any questions. 10/10 would love to stay again!

My son and I stayed in the Mermaid Retreat. We had plenty of room, and was even better than expected. The furnishings and bedding is very comfortable and clean. The peaceful atmosphere allowed for a great escape. Even days when just lounging around, the amenities have a vacation feel. The morning view of the bay is a great part of enjoying morning coffee, and a dip in the pool. The beach is actually a 5 min walk as described. Communication with property management is easy and friendly. Amy is great, and have us info on places to go, restaurants etc…. I will definitely come back!!

So pleasant when something exceeds your expectations ... the pictures don't do it justice. Hospital clean, many thoughtful touches, a tight ship: we wanted a quiet location and quiet neighbors, got both. Many thanks to Amy and Elena; we'll be back -

Our Family was able to take our first vacation together along with booking a VRBO. Our Family will be coming back to this VRBO because we loved the convenience of the short walk to the Gulf, My husband went fishing off the dock a lot we did take the kayaks out, and it was just very relaxing atmosphere for me.
I think what I loved the most was how quite the Gulf was when we walk to it. For us there was no more one group of 6 ever down there. It was a lot easier to watch my kids in the water than when we went to other public entrance areas where it was a longer walk and people everywhere.

Great location! I was worried about not being beachfront but the bay offered fun activities too. We kayaked and got to see dolphins up close! Fishing equipment available to use. The beach was only a couple minute walk. All beach chairs and toys provided. Overall great experience!! Our kids are already asking when we are coming back!!

We enjoyed our experience very much! Amy was so attentive to all of our questions. Everything was supplied to go to the beach and the beach is only a 3 minute walk. Definitely recommend staying here!

This is THE place for a perfect little getaway in a quiet, respectful neighborhood with access to what feels like a private beach! We were greeted with a lovely welcome gift of a bottle of wine and snacks and after our long day of travel, it was so appreciated. The spaces, although compact, were perfect for my family of 4. The unit was extremely clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a meal, including a fantastic spice rack! The bed in the bedroom was extremely comfortable. The dock was a great place for morning coffee, the pool was clean and so fun and the private access to the gorgeous beach was the cherry on top! Amy really has thought of everything. She was super easy to work with, responsive and offered wonderful local recommendations. We cannot wait to return!

We’ve stayed on the key many times and this was by far our favorite spot to date! You have the bay right outside your window where fishing is like no other with a beautiful pool to boot! Close to top notch restaurants and shops (We enjoyed Farlow’s, The Waverly & Magnolia’s on the Bay) but secluded enough down a peaceful side road to where you feel like you’ve got the island to yourself. We love visiting Stump Pass Beach State Park when we’re in town but we were thrilled with the private beach access this unit offered. It was a quick 5 minute walk and the sunsets are unbeatable. The unit itself was spacious, clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We found it to be a very relaxing weekend and Amy & her team were always available to us if we needed anything. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy Florida’s natural beauty with impeccable accommodations - we cannot wait to return!

We had a great stay at Mermaids Retreat. The place was just as described in the listed. Loved the decor, and plenty of space for a couple. I imagine with the 2 sleep sofas a small family could be comfortable in the space, but only one private sleeping area(the bedroom) We were only here for a few days and spent most of our time at the Waterfest Boat Races & the Beach. Short walk to the beach. Amy was very responsive to my inquiries. Would definitely enjoy a return visit to Mermaids Retreat. We never ventured from the Key, but it seemed only 15min drive or so if you wanted to. All in all great stay! Thanks

This was the perfect getaway for us! Took the kayaks out that are available at the house. The view of the bay was so nice. The walk to the ocean was five minutes. Found some shark teeth at the ocean. Drove to Venice (nice little town). Took a sunset cruise (saw dolphins). The house was very nice and clean, equipped with everything we needed. Sign is a little hard to see but follow Amy’s directions and no problem at all.

I just stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip and it was beyond my expectations. Upon entry to the apt., there was a bottle of wine & 2 glasses on a tray which I thought was a nice touch. The kitchen is well equipped and has 2 coffee machines. The apt. itself was clean, comfortable and tastefully updated. It has direct water views from the living room window. The bed was very comfortable and there's a phone charging port & noise machine on the nightstand which were very convenient. The best part for me was being able to sit out back on the small sandy beach directly on Lemon Bay. These past few nights I've enjoyed sitting out back feeling the seabreeze and looking out at the beautiful views of the moon reflecting on the water. It's in a fantastic location with a private beach access just a short walk across the street and restaurants a few minutes away. If you're looking to stay on Manasota Key and are a couple or a small family of 4 or 5, look no further. I would definitely stay here again.

Our family loved our stay! We're Floridians but we like to travel and see other little places and this was actually my first time in this part of the state! Unfortunately it was during red tide so the water wasn't as blue/teal as it should be. But we loved this little location along the Lemon Bay, and thought the property was very clean, with wonderful directions, descriptions and instructions! 🤣 The "Florida room" with the extra sofa is warm in the summer months as that one does not have a separate AC unit like the rest of the place does. I suggest bringing a fan for that room. That's also the room where the dining table is, and if you plan on eating there or playing family board games, it got a little toasty in there for us to enjoy that. Even though the place is a tad small, it didn't feel like it and still had plenty of space for the 4 of us!
Amy was great to communicate with and even sent suggestions of things to enjoy and do during your stay!
They provide beach chairs and beach things to take with you. There are some board games. There's lots of kitchen accessories, you might just have to look in the cabinets next to the sofa. She did a really good job thinking of all the things you might possibly need! Including blackout curtains!😆
There's a swimming pool with lots of chairs; you also have your own little patio table outside your door to enjoy; they have a nice dock with fishing stuff included; kayaks and life jackets to also use!
Take a drive up Canopy Road and look at all the beautiful houses along the key!
Mangos is a fun breakfast spot. Sandbar Tiki Bar & Grill is a fun place with live music and great food.
Lemon Bay Tours was a great little boat ride for dolphin watching!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back. ❤️

There are so many great bars/restaurants on the water nearby to enjoy! The atmosphere is laid back and everyone is so friendly! We loved the touches of wine on arrival! It was so thoughtful!
The place itself… the pictures were inaccurate, but appear to have been updated. We had some issues with flooding the back dining/living room, but it was addressed by the owner. The property claims to be non-smoking, but there was an old smoke smell upon arrival.
