Ideal bush location for a quiet getaway. The host was very friendly and provided fresh food, including freshly baked bread and eggs. On checkout provided freshly made muffins to take with us. If we return to the area we would definitely stay here again.

Been staying here for two nights each July for about eight years. We use it as a base to access Mt Buller. The cabins are well equipped and very comfortable. The hosts are the loveliest people you could ever meet. They bake bread and muffins for you. Will continue to stay.

Our stay here was great, Maggie and David were amazing and very helpful. Maggie’s baked bread and cookies were amazing and then to top it off Maggie came to us the morning of us checking out with baked muffins which were also amazing. Very nice and quiet place for a weekend away to unwind and relax with the fire place. Thank you Maggie and David for a great weekend.

Stayed in the Red cottage. The cottage was roomy, clean and cosy. From the start, the hosts were welcoming provided valuable information about the cottage. The cottage itself was homely and spacious. Two bedrooms, a well presented bathroom and cooking facilities. The cottage also had a wood fire that warmed the whole cottage.
The owners also provided many home comforts such as freshly baked bread, jams selection, freshly baked cookies, breakfast cereals, french press coffee and tea. They also provide hot water bottles.
The cottages are close to lake Eildond and a short drive to Mansfield and Jamieson and look out over mountains. The cottage is a great relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life and a unique stay.

We stayed at Maggie and David’s cottages for 3 nights in April, with our daughters aged 10 and 14 and all had a great time. The cottages are warm and cosy and allthough they seemed small to start with allowed us to spend great quality time together. We loved the great welcome and service frim Maggie et the homemade bread, cookies and delicious muffins!
Looking at the property from the deck was a really chilled experience with many birds, magpies and parrots coming to visit, kangaroos and an amazing sky at night.

Maggie was incredibly welcoming and even provided us with baked goods :)

We booked the morning of arrival which was not supposed to happen as it disrupted the normal host communication /welcome. Maggie (host) made up for this 1000%. We loved the "feel" of the place and their novel house (you have to book a stay andd see for yourself). The cottages are getting on but not really dated and their cosy charm is wonderful.

Quiet location. Maggie and Dave were friendly and very welcoming. Our 11yr and 10yr old boys said they enjoyed the warm muffins and listening to the frogs singing outside.
Nice spot to get out of town and spot some Roos and wombats. Close to Mt Buller for skiing.

Maggie is the best host I've ever come across. Not only did the cottage have everything we needed, but she provided some extras too (home-baked goods and a hot water bottle each!). Would HIGHLY recommend staying here.

The location is just lovely, minutes from Goughs Bay, hospitality is fabulous, very natural setting and accommodation, if you want a break from Wifi and some internet then this is the place for you. Hosts were lovely and we felt very relaxed and rejuvenated after our 3 night stay.

Maggie and Dave were sensational hosts. Their communication was great, and they made you feel extremely welcome. The cottages are cool, no air con needed and have their own spin on the world. The home cooked produced was a welcomed bit of special to the trip. The beds could do with an upgrade, these old bodies didn't travel well on them. For a family of 4, the fridge was a little small and the cooking amenities were just. We really enjoyed eating on the deck and having the wildlife pop in each morning.

Cozy getaway in True native australia
Maggie was a fantastic host with great breakfast essentials in the house and freshly baked muffins. Loved the cozy home and pot belly fire place. Pet friendly , however no fenced backyard for the pet to keep in. The outside area is fenced with small dam if the dog wants to get wet in. Gouges bay is a nice little town on the edge of lake Eildon and a short drive from Mannsfield. Great remote location with beautiful nature walks

Great little getaway spot
What a lovely little retreat this was. it was exactly as advertised and expected. It was perfect dog friendly clean cosy cabin. The pot belly fire was so efficient - and all the hosts' little home made products and lovely brekkie items were a real treat. Our cabin x 2 bedrooms would most likely suit family only as there is little privacy between the bedrooms. We would definitely visit again.
