About this lodge
Bring the whole family to this great place with lots of room for fun. The size of this home is perhaps its most unique benefit. Very few properties have the open space to host 14 guests without the property feeling "crowded". This property is so large that at times guests may wonder where the kids went....and they are just upstairs in their game room having fun or playing pool.

Everything from the house, to the view, to the vibe was perfect. Lake living at its finest. This is a peaceful and quiet place. It has ample space to stretch out and breathe but also quality open space to gather the whole group.
Looking forward to returning again!

We had a lovely family reunion at the cabin. The view is spectacular, the water was lovely for swimming, and the cabin was very comfortable with air conditioning, many comfortable places to sit indoors and out doors with a screened in porch. The pool table was a big hit, and we throughly enjoyed a visit to Ausable Chasm and Rolf's Farm Store.

Our stay was better than we could have hoped for. The property was clean and welcoming. There were no issues with any appliace or amenity. The house was cool, comfortable, and huge . The walk to the beach is like stadium steps steep, but not difficult and well worth it. The mangers were very clear and responsive. The town is quaint and welcoming. The price was well worth it. We had an 20s couple, a 20s, male, a 40s couple, and one teen and one child. Consider costs... the value was unquestionable. Highly recommended this place and the group of managers. Will definitely return.

We loved the gorgeous views of Lake Champlain and the little rocky beach on the property. The game room was helpful in the evenings and everyone in our group had their own spot. So lovely!

Beautiful setting! Strange house.

House is nice! But the master bathroom is not in the master suite. If you have kids in the bunkbed room, they use the same bathroom. There’s a little hard in the middle of the night sometimes. 31 stairs going down to the lake, which was never talked about in their Verbo profile.

The house location was gorgeous. The description definately matched the listing. There were 8 of us, 4 adults, 3 children, and an infant. It was too big for us, but it was nice having lots of space too.
Everyone loved the kayaks, and paddle boards! The lake is spectacular!
There were a few little things that we found lacking. The shower door handle in small bathroom near laundry was broken when we arrived, a paddle board oar was missing. The screened in porch is great, we spent a lot of time there, but really dirty floor, cobwebs and spiders.
There was broken glass in the fire pit.
I reported all to property managers. They were very responsive, but not fixed while we were there.

The Big-Lake Lodge at Lake Champlain was the perfect getaway for my family and my brother's. We were a party of 10 and were completely comfortable in a spacious 2 story house with high ceilings. The views of Lake Champlain from the back porch are spectacular! The house and its surroundings are so peaceful and picturesque. Only issues we had were flies in the house but that's to be expected when you're on the water and in a forest area but Barbara provided fly tape and that mostly fixed the problem. Overall stay was fantastic and we would definitely come back!

Had a long weekend get together with a handful of friends for my buddies bachelor party. Was nervous about the house not being big enough for 8-9 men but it ended up being more than enough. The house is HUGE and the pictures do not do it justice. House and property were overall very clean and the view to the lake was amazing. Very private property too - tree line on both sides and can abrely see any other houses. The property manager Beth was very responsive with any questions I had as well. Cannot say enough good things about this listing.
Thank you!!

If you are looking for a very relaxing place to stay away from everyone i highly recommend here. Its very secluded with an amazing view to wake up.tp every morning. It's also very spaced out so you and who ever you go with aren't all on top of one another.

The house was very large and clean. Plenty of space for the 7 we had. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate much for us. We had rain and a couple days where the air quality was at safe levels for outside activities, and the water levels changed drastically due to all the weather (during all the flooding VT was experiencing but the lake was able to handle it). We made due. We were able to catch a sunrise and it was beautiful. The only complaint that we had was that there are no bath tubs for bathing younger children. It is a fantastic house and within 30 minutes of major cities. Definitely recommend staying here if you can.

Our large family group had a wonderful time enjoying swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking and boating and fishing. It was worth getting up predawn just to see the gorgeous sunrise from the large deck. The house was very spacious with comfortable beds and seating. We like that the boat landing was so close by though if there had been a dock or mooring for our boat at the property it would have been an added plus. A visit to the close by Ausable Chasm and Highland Winery made our list plus there were a couple of nearby disc golf courses that made our list of activities. This was by far one of our family’s favorite vacation houses and we would certainly love to come back again.

Overall the stay at this lake house was nice. It had plenty of space for my entire family (7 adults) to hangout and sleep. The back deck view of the lake is amazing. Plenty of areas around the house to hangout especially when it rained. Things that could be improved upon with be the screened in porch. The porch was covered in dust, pollen and dirt so we had to clean all the furniture and tables before enjoying it. Also, they gave us a ‘starter supply’ of paper towels and trash bags which was only 1 roll of paper towels and 2 trash bags for a family of 7 for 5 nights. We had to go out and purchase more. The clean out process was slightly confusing as the check out process online was different than the book in the house. Something that people with pets should know is that the neighbors dog ‘Wilbur’ comes into the property daily and will explore the deck and yard. It was a pain to deal with our dogs and Wilber. I know the property owner cannot do much about the neighbors dog however future guests should know. Overall a good stay but definitely some things that could be improved for the price point of the house.

The house was awesome! The large floorplan enabled privacy when people wanted it and large community areas for socializing! The childrens quarters were perfect, their own lake views and attached to the game room. The large decks provided us with so many beautiful lake views and we loved the kayaks for some relaxing time on the water. I also loved catching a larger laketrout than my brother!!

This property was great for a large group. Plenty of sleeping and dining space. 3 bathrooms with 3 showers was a big plus with a large group. Definitely glad we were advised to bring water shoes as the beach area is very rocky however having a little section of Lake Champlain to ourselves was amazing!

The place is amazing, spacious and filled with activities so you don’t even need to leave the entire time you’re there. Lifelong memories were definitely made.

Our group of 13 had a great time at this place. Loved waking up to lake views every morning that we spent here. We would love to visit again in the future.

The house was perfect for our group. The kids (teenagers) had their own bedroom and connecting game room. The bedrooms accommodated the parents nicely. Very comfortable and clean.

8 Adults and 1 pup had plenty of room to enjoy picture perfect fall weather in a beautiful location. Enjoyed the cottage on the lake which included kayaking, bonfires on the beach. Great area to take walks. We made daytrips to Burlington, Lake Placid, and Plattsburg. Went to the Ausauble Chasm. Lots of breweries to choose from when we didn't cook and wanted to explore. We only skimmed the surface of all there is to do. Very comfortable beds. Very nicely furnished and gorgeous views.

This is an amazing property. It suited our needs perfectly to visit with family in the area. The house is huge. The views of the lake and sunrises are a bonus. Spectacular. Use of kayaks and paddle boards added to the fun. The kitchen is well-stocked with plates, utensils, pots, pans, etc. Bring extra toilet paper and paper towels, napkins, zip locks, foil etc. Overall, an amazing property. We’re already talking about coming back to this property next year.

Truly enjoyed our time with family and friends at this perfectly located waterfront house. It was just right for our group with enough separate rooms for privacy, shared linving spaces and water access. We loved watching the sunrise with coffee in the morning and fires on the rocky beach as the sun set. Its also near a brewery and winery so another plus! Loved our visit and would recommend to others looking to have a large group get together.

Location was great as was kayaking! This home did meet our needs.
House needs some help. Issues with - lack of kitchen towels, flies in house, very dirty oven, cobwebs, difficulty closing doors, broken shades, minimal water pressure in bathroom sinks.

My three grown sons and I had an excellent week at this house. The views are amazing, as the house is up on the side of the mountain. The steps to the water would require vigilance with young children, assistance for the elderly. The beds are very comfortable, no cheap mattresses. The furniture is also really comfortable in the living room with a large tv. The house has a water dispenser and all the jugs were provided. Canisters of propane were also provided for the gas grill. Loved the screened in porch with the comfy furniture and the master deck as well. I loved waking up and seeing the lake from the master bed! We kayaked, ate healthy dinners at the house, explored the Chasm, played golf, explored Burlington… so much to do from this gorgeous house! The nearest grocery store on late Saturday is 20 min away so bring some food to get started! Not many restaurants around either. Its a well-stocked, beautiful house to spend some time. Highly recommend it.

House was huge and gave us all space to not feel on top of each other. Upon arriving I emailed the host to make them aware of a couple items that in no way affected our stay but I just wanted documented. Immediately someone was sent out to address the “issues”. I was very impressed with the promptness and attention we were given. Thank you!

We were a group of 11 adults and two dogs. The house was plenty big enough for everyone to sprawl out and get some privacy but the main room was great to gather for games and hanging out. The layout is definitely strange but not in a way that detracts from it. It just takes a bit to learn which door leads where. We were pleasantly surprised at the water pressure as usually houses we have stayed at with wells provide little more than a trickle. AC was also a bonus as a few days reached into the 90s.
The deck is gorgeous and we ate every meal at the table there. The attached screened-in porch also saw a lot of use. Our only complaint was that the hedges in front of the deck block what would be a spectacular view of the water. The deck is also fenced in so the dogs could hang with us without worry.
The beach was a rock beach so we highly recommend making sure you have a good pair of water shoes as it can be tough on the feet and there a a lot of zebra muscles a little farther out into the water that can be very sharp. The water was gorgeous with little to no weeds. The beach quickly slopes down and there is a drop off about 10-15 feet out that made it easy to swim without worrying about rocks and makes a good fishing spot. The stairs down from the deck can be a bit much for someone with mobility issues but there is a much gentler slope with only a few stairs down on the side of the house.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property.

This house is larger than it looks. In addition to the main family area there are three other living areas that can be closed off and used as additional bedrooms, or are great for a family to spread out. This is at a beautiful location on lake Champlain with great views. I'm not sure why people complain about a rocky/pebbly beach. The whole of lake Champlain has Rocky beaches. Just wear water shoes. It did have some small quirks but the kayaks/paddleboards were great, only one paddle was broken and I am not sure why a previous guests would complain about that. The only thing that really bothered be were the bushes that blocked majority of the view from second story deck. I actually considered buying clippers to trim them myself. We did have to reach out once because previous guests had left a garage full of rotting trash, and there was a 2 day delay in getting that taken care of. However Beth did respond to our emails promptly. We really enjoyed our stay and if the bushes get cut back I wouldn't hesitate to stay again! Note to owners - you are developing plumbing problems (slowing of faucets, coffee makers don't work due to large amount of scale) because you need a whole house water softener (this shouldn't discourage guests!).

The property was clean and well maintained. Floor plan and house layout is unique, but this adds to it charms. Our group went to fish, and this afforded us that opportunity. Would definitely book again.

My children and grandchildren totally enjoyed themselves. This big house gave everyone enough space for privacy yet great gathering spaces..

It is a nice place with beautiful views IF the hedges were trimmed so you could see them from deck. (had to stand on tippy toes to look out at the water). I do understand it may be for privacy reasons but they have not been trimmed for quite some time and the lawn had not been mowed either. There were cobwebs in most of the corners with dust under the beds which leads me to the pull out bed that was broke and could not be slept in. I know mattresses on a pull out are not the best but this one have seen better days. One of the outlets in 2 out of the 3 bathrooms did not work plus in one bathroom the hot and cold water was reversed with no note saying so (the hot side was cold water and the cold side was hat water) and when they say a starter supply of hand soap and toilet paper they were not kidding we had enough toilet paper for maybe 3 hours and the hand soap lasted a day at that. I understand not leaving and abundance of either out but the soap dispensers could have been filled and could have had at least one extra roll of toilet paper out to use. The deck entering the house had a board that needed attention, it was not screwed down and sticking up right where you walk to the front door there were also some boards on the stairway to the water that were rotted had to watch were you were stepping then the steps off the the side one board was broke. One of the pics on the website didn't show all the steps (38 steps) to the water and i say water cause it was no sandy beach it was all stone not pleasant to walk on. It did not say sandy beach on the website nor did it say rocky beach either, other sites say what type of water site you have. As for the row boat and kayak that did not make us feel confident to use. Kayak had a hole in it and the boat was duck taped and was only able to use one oar one side where the oar goes was broke. One wicker chair on balcony and one is the screen house were broke. We were to sweep and vacuum before leaving. We did not vacuum as i did not see how it could hold anymore dirt. Yes i could have emptied it but for paying as much as we did for a "cleaning fee" i feel like is should have been ready to use. We enjoyed our stay with family but we will not be booking this place again

We really enjoyed our stay! The house is beautiful and the location was great! We really had an amazing time and would definitely consider coming back!

The house was nice, large open living area, bunk room upstairs is enormous, plenty of room for people to relax in separate areas if needed, including outside, plenty of things to do in the surrounding areas. Only issues we had were minor, including communication with the manager for trash questions, pool cues had no tips with no chalk to use, a little messy outside (chairs near lake were dirty, under the back deck was dirty), kitchen island is just a small table, bushes on back deck block the view of lake. We really enjoyed our stay overall. Thank you

Barbara was great during the whole process - prebooking as well as during our stay and check out! She was very accommodating with our dogs too!

beautiful view of the lake out of every window in the back of the house. We stayed for New Years, it would be bliss in the summer!

This house is amazing! It was immaculately clean. It is huge. We only had four people, there are beds to sleep 14, but if you used couches, could probably accommodate 18. The view over Lake Champlain is spectacular!! The night lights of Burlington, and the rising Sun, and the moon over the water was gorgeous. In the summer the beach, kayaks, and row boat would be great to enjoy. The furniture and artwork are beautiful. The large table is perfect for large family gatherings. Only one hour to Whiteface with a beautiful scenic drive. Excellent choice for a family reunion. The only caution is that there are steep stairs to get into the house from the driveway and many steps down to the beach. We had no trouble, but it is not handicap accessible. This was the nicest rental we have ever had, and we can’t wait to book it for this summer!!!

Loved the property.

The house is huge, cozy, updated, and perfect for a lake getaway. Very clean. There are 4 kayaks and 2 paddle boards with PFD available. The private beach is big and has a firepit. The views are gorgeous. We had a great time as 3 couples and a dog. The area is easy to navigate and very beautiful with stores not too far away. We would defintiely stay here again.

Our family loved our stay in this rental. It had plenty of room for us to gather together for meals and visiting, but enough separate space when needed. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the various outside gathering places. Fires on the beach were a special time! We highly recommend it!
