About this house rental

Located down Texanna in Sandy Bass Bay 3 (Jane's Jungle), this house is a close walk or golf cart ride to Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma beaches. We are within a mile of two launch ramps, and not far from Belle Starr Marina or Porum Marina and launch ramps. The other side of hwy 69 is Lake Eufaula State Park with many types of recreation including horseback riding and golf. Guests with kids enjoy Jelly Stone Park located at the town of Eufaula by the marina.

There is a large grassy tree lined front yard with plenty of parking for guests and toys. The Shady Rest downstairs has dining area, kitchen, full bathroom and living room with sliding glass door to the patio. Day beds make two twin beds. Upstairs has area with a twin bunk bed and closet on one side and a queen bed on the other.

The sliding door opens onto a pet friendly patio. Just through the next gate and up the steps behind the main lodge is the deck with conversation seating, hot tub and pool. The pool will re-open by the end of April. The owner shared seasonal above ground pool and year around hot tub are available for your use. Occasionally they must be closed without notice for maintenance, but generally we have them available for your enjoyment. Just a short walk to the lake for fishing or boating. There is boat parking with electricity, a fish cleaning station and minnow barrel for those here for pleasure fishing or tournaments. Contact us when you make your reservation if you need information about boat launching, fishing, docking and boat parking.

The location 421464 Big Sandy Drive (1165 Rd), Eufaula OK 74432. When you enter the address on your phone, select the "Big Sandy Lodge and Shady Rest" popup. Exit the 69 fwy going south on Texanna. Drive 5.1 miles to turn right onto 422 (0). If you see a sign for Lindsey Chapel or Sandpiper Cove, you have gone too far down Texanna.

Travel past Push Hill to a right-hand curve onto 1170. Continue to the next intersection and turn right towards Sandy Bass Bay 3. The 3rd road turn right onto 1165 Rd, aka Big Sandy Drive. Please continue down 1165 to the last house on the right.

I loved this place for my teenagers. It’s easy to pick a hotel but teenage boys need nature. They need dirt roads and docs to jump off of. A lake to swim in. A real adventure. They loved the pool and the hot tub. This was just such an enduring experience. While the boys had their outdoor country adventure I had a hot shower and a beautifully decorated home. Beautiful kitchen. Lots of bed arrangements. Don’t let those mini splits fool you - they cool the house beautifully. Keri was so kind and hospitable. So down to earth- even gave us farm fresh eggs. If you are a hotel person maybe this won’t be for you. But we loved it. The teenagers loved it and that’s a win in my book. Praying to see you again next summer!

The owners, Glen and Kerry were very hospitable and friendly. They stay on the same property so they were very accessible anytime we had any questions. I loved that we could take our doggo with us. Lincoln loved being able to run around in the big yard and walking down to the lake with my husband and I. The house was very clean and perfect for our little weekend getaway. Also, the hot tub was divine for a relaxing evening after the days activities, and while the owners were on property we were afforded plenty of privacy. Overall we had a great first experience and would definitely go back to The Shady Rest.

My wife and I had an amazing weekend here. It was very cozy, clean, and peaceful. The hot tub was awesome! It was a great way to relax after a long work week. Glen and Kerry were awesome! Love the fresh eggs they gave us and their dogs are beautiful and super friendly. I would highly recommend staying here. Location is nice, right in between Checotah and Eufaula.

Loved the owners/house/everything! Except the hot tub. It had brown sludge in it after they cleaned it, so we didn't get to enjoy that unfortunately.

Such a cute unique couple that we now consider friends! Great people to work with! Easy place to find, power hook up for our boat batteries, spacious, comfortable and clean! We can’t wait to stay there again on our next tournament outing at Lake Eufaula. Definitely gonna make extra time for the hot tub and back yard setting! They are friendly, helpful, and conversational great host! Something we love to see! Much appreciated.

My husband, our two dogs and toddler had a one night stay at Shady Rest while we were visiting family in the neighborhood and we really enjoyed our time there. My only complaint was that the floors were pretty dirty and I had to make sure that my son and I were wearing shoes at all times because I forgot to bring socks for us. The hot tub was also not working. I loved the dog friendly patio and the couches/beds were super comfortable. We also couldn't figure out the smart TV, it was under the amenities listed, but we couldn't find out how to get to Netflix or any of the smart TV apps, so it may be useful to have some instructions on it. Luckily we ended up not really needing it. I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually bigger than it looks in photos, had a nice filtered water pitcher in the fridge and was quiet despite being pretty close to neighbors and the owners. We will definitely stay here again!

We were able to relax and get away from the day to day responsibilities. The location is quiet and near a finger of the lake so you can access the lake quite easily. It was very hot on our trip, so it was very comfortable in our little house with the mini splits. Our hosts were very kind. They have some beautiful dogs. Very friendly.

Nice little cabin . We really enjoyed our stay . The hot tub was actually on the property manager's back patio , approximately 8ft in front of their living room windows . Otherwise a very nice cabin for my wife and my anniversary

The house was perfect for our needs. Sister’s upstairs and brother downstairs with his two dogs. We enjoyed the patio with the grill and the swimming pool was extra. Glen and Kerry were excellent hosts. All our needs were met and more.

The overall is was ok location was not as close to the lake as I expected it to be. The cottage need attention to some details , like dusting and cobwebs around the entire house, the refrigerator needed a good cleaning after the last guess, and the bathroom needed to be more Ada compliant, older people need higher toilets. All around the kitchen and breakfast nook was new and the ac was good a cold, but it was a surprise to them to see us there. The ac was not on and it was a 100* outside. The caretakers were very nice and loved the dogs. Need a fly swatter because many flying pest came in or were in the house. The daybeds were not comfortable for sitting and watching TV but found enough pillows to help. The scenery out back was not pleasant and the one out front we could not see the lake.

I love that they allow my dog to come! Their dogs are super sweet and my grandkids loved swimming with them. I did miss the convenience of the golf cart we were able to use the last time I rented, so we had to drive my car to a beach. The use of their pool and hot tub was wonderful for my grandkids!

I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Wonderful hosts and I really enjoyed the dogs. There's a pool, a hot tub, short walk to the lake. They were great conversationalists and helpful regarding dining choices. I wish I could habe stayed a week!

The owners are right next door - terrific, friendly folks! There if you need anything. Their 3 Labs are super sweet. The location is a quick, pretty, couple of blocks to the lake. Friendly & safe neighborhood. Our Pug loved the trip as much as we did. The rental is fully equipped & comfy as advertised. We HIGHLY recommend!

The place was quiet and remote just what we were looking for in a quick simple honeymoon weekend getaway. We had a small problem with the heater but worked through it. Wish the fishing would have been better. If we travel back would stay again.

GREAT Off Season Weekend Getaway! (We went in winter) This cozy little cabin was bigger than expected! 1 large bed and bunk bed in loft, and 2 single bed/couches on main floor. Very comfortable! The kitchen is recently remodeled, complete with full size fridge, stove/oven and sink. Cabin is thoughtfully decorated. Lots of towels and linens. The property is beautiful! Very serene and quiet. The chickens were fun to watch. The owners have beautiful very friendly golden retrievers that occasionally said hi. My favorite thing is the hot tub! Perfect for cold winter days! There is a large above ground pool that would be fun in the summer. Owners are very hospitable! They welcomed us upon arrival! The cabin is next to the owner’s home, but they give you privacy. I enjoyed talking to them the few times I saw them. The hot tub is a short walk through a beautiful patio, onto a very nice deck. It is behind owners home, but they give you privacy. Cabin would be great for families, couples, singles. (No wild parties) The owners let us use their golf cart to take in the local area. Just a short ride or walk to beach. There are several places to go on the golf cart. The cabin is located about 15-20 mins from Downtown Eufaula. Easy drive. Definitely recommend Glen and Kerry’s place! They even gave us homemade jam as a parting gift!
