Barbara's Beach House at Palmetto Beach, Avenida Mangle, Caye Caulker, Belize.
Barbara's Beach House (The Pink House) is the second building behind Laura's Lookout and Sandy's Secret (The Blue House). Located at the West End of our private pool, Barbara's is a three bedroom house, situated perfectly to ensure that you can enjoy the best that our quiet secluded lot has to offer while still having easy access to the airstrip or the main town of Caye Caulker which is just a 5-10 minute bike ride or a 10-15 minute walk away.
The interior of Barbara's has a traditional island feel, built throughout with the beautiful hardwoods that Belize is known for. Floors, ceiling and furniture all reflect this craftsmanship, a perfect compliment to the palm trees and sun outside your door. The layout works for either a family or a group of friends and has two bedrooms with King beds and a full bath downstairs; a more private Master Suite upstairs, with two twin beds that convert into a king if you prefer, again with its own full bath.
All beds have pillow top mattress pads and are super comfy the sheets are 400 thread count, and the towels and beach towels are plentiful, thick and lush. If needed, there are two futons in the living room for those who would prefer not to share beds. Each room has its own air conditioner, complete with a remote control, please turn the AC off when not in the room so that we can continue to offer you the best price possible. The living area features an open floor plan that includes a modern kitchen, supplied with any appliance you may need, there is a washing machine and clothesline and access to a dryer if the weather is not cooperating. The dining area and lounge area has a flat screen TV, movie library, Netflix, wi-fi and games.
As you leave the house passing by the front deck that features ocean views and both hammocks and chairs to relax in, down a short flight of stairs, you first encounter the 35 x 15 foot private outdoor pool, available only to our guests, sunken into a wood deck that respects the palm trees that were there before and many chaises for sunbathing. Turning the corner to your right around the house, you encounter the man made beach area, jutting 50 feet into the sea, this provides another area in which to relax and enjoy the sun, there are a couple of palapas on the beach if you want to avoid the sun and corn hole as well as ladder toss to entertain you. Finally, just beyond the beach area, you come upon the 300 foot dock. With three separate entrances to the water below, there is room to dock your boat (if you have one!!), 6 pods extending outward for more room and a palapa at the end of the dock if you require shade. Covered with chaise lounges, you would be hard pressed to find a better place on Caye Caulker to just sit and relax, or watch the incredible sunsets.
Behind Barbara's is a tranquil palm grove with BBQ facilities including picnic tables and a giant Jenga game. Paddle boards and kayaks are available for free, Beer can be bought at the front desk by the bottle, the bucket or a whole case. You can also rent bikes and golf carts at the front desk or book tours with anyone of the many tour operators on the island for fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving or sunset sailing cruises, our staff are there to help. Bikes are available to rent at US $7.50 per bike, per day. We also rent golf carts but supply is limited. We recommend you reserve with us in advance. Bikes and golf carts are a great way to tour about the island...a wonderful adventure for most any age! We have children's bikes, child carriers, and cribs upon request.
Barbara's, as well as all our properties, was built with safety in mind featuring protection on all first floor windows, there is only one entrance to the house. In addition, we have an on-site 24 hour security guard. Our office is open every day from 9:00am until 7:00pm, so there is always someone to help with whatever you may need.

What a great property, they have people who clean the pool and patio every morning and everyone always had a smile for you. If we get back to Caye Caulker we are staying here again!

The only downside to this property is there is not really a beach to hang out at. Most places don’t have a “beach.” Golf cart or bicycle is a must. Pretty long walk to the split and downtown.

The location of the house was stunning and even better than the pictures could capture. The area itself was nice and quiet, but you could still bike (I would advise renting one for your stay) everywhere quickly on the island. It was wonderful to have ocean and pool access. The porch was lovely to sit on in the morning for coffee. The interior was clean and well stocked. The air conditioning worked very well, and the water pressure was much better than expected. I hope to be able to visit again.

Our family of four adults stayed at Barbara's Beach House for three nights while visiting Caye Caulker. The place did not disappoint. The photos undertstate how nice this house is. It is beautiful, well appointed and equipped, well kept, and very comfortable. We really appreciated the pool right outside the door too!

This is a well-maintained property with friendly staff. We were two adult couples and one teen. I was worried it might be noisy due to the density of accommodations, but it was surprisingly quiet. The café next to us was handy-we enjoyed adult beverages and nachos on arrival. The pier offered a great lace to lay and read or just watch the ocean. No real beach access here, but you can get into the ocean at the end of the pier.

Beautiful place to stay, we really had a blast at the house. It was better than expected. The only thing that I would like to recommend is to add some type of grip tape around the swimming pool and steps to avoid any slip and falls.

The property, pool, house, dock, and everything were so nice. Excellent location right on the water. Very peaceful despite having other units around. We used the dock and the porch hammocks and pool a ton! The staff was so friendly, helpful, and responsive. We had an issue with the door handle sticking and they responded and fixed it right away. Would absolutely book this place again!!

We enjoyed our stay at Barbara’ Beach House. The house was very clean and it is stocked with all the essentials from linens to kitchen ware. We appreciated having security for the dock as we traveled by our personal boat. The staff was friendly and responsive. The only disappointment was there was hardly any water pressure in the showers. It was easier for those of us with lots of hair to wash our hair in the bathroom sink as the pressure there was sufficient. Just not the ideal method for long hair washing.

This was a perfect family vacation location. So clean, lots of room to spread out. Really fun having the pool right outside our front door! The kitchen was equipped nicely so we were able to cook our morning meals. Quick walk into town and a grocery store really close as well. Beautiful cared for three bedroom bungalow. Close to restaurants, town, and market. Just steps away from beachfront, pool, hammock, kayaks, and dock. Caretakers so friendly and will take care of any requests. Love it!

We had a great time at Barbara’s Beach house.
Watching the sunset on the Pier in the morning was awesome. We enjoyed the pool daily.
Our only complaint was how warm the upstairs bathroom was, not sure if a fan would help out not. Would sweat as soon as you got out of the shower. Love the location.

This was a beautiful location with a nice dock with chairs to relax on. It was away from the busy part of the island. If you fly in, you can walk to it easily. We took the water taxi and then there are golf cart taxis ready to take you to the location. We really appreciated the kayak and paddle boards available and the attentive staff was very helpful.

Beautiful accommodations the perfect distance from the hustle and bustle on Front St. Caye Caulker. Spotless home, extraordinary staff and property manager, ocean views and a pool. We couldn't ask for more. The only thing we need to ask is when can we go back!

We stayed at Barbaras’s Beach House for our (mostly) adult family Christmas vacation. It was the perfect place for our group of five.
The house had everything we needed for our week long stay. The pool is shared with another house managed by the property. We spent a bit of time around the pool had a good time chatting with the other family, sharing our adventures and dining experiences. The three bedrooms had four beds, a queen, a double and two twins.
The location is towards the south end of Caye Caulker, pretty close to the airport. We liked being away from the center of town and we were only a few minutes from the closest grocery store, probably 10-15 minute walk from the town center. For transportation we did a combination of walking, renting bicycles and taking the golf cart taxis. A taxi ride to the restaurant Swings was BZ $20 and to the Split was BZ $25. We got the WhatsApp numbers for a couple cab drivers and would text them for rides when we needed them.
The sand fleas were attracted to a few of us, I’d recommend bringing bug spray with at least 25% deet, however you can easily find it in the grocery stores.

The highlight of this house for my kids was the pier with the lounge chairs on it. My teenagers enjoyed lounging in the sun and taking quick dips in the ocean and my 10 year old son spent the entirety of our time here fishing off the pier. Helpful hint, buy bait fish at the place you can feed the tarpon. He caught so many fish, and it really made his vacation!
The pool is nice as is the deck in front of the house with the chairs and hammocks. The house in comfortable and big enough for a family of 5 to spread out. It was clean and quiet. Weezie's next door is super convenient for a quick lunch or breakfast if you don't feel like cooking, but it would be easy enough to cook in the well stocked kitchen. Great place to stay, would stay again and would recommend.

The original location had gorgeous wood throughout, pool, nice porch , but the second location had spectacular porch with wide open views of the ocean and was even more spacious, so I'd say that was hard to beat. randy was very accomodating and friendly. the location was great; close to town via the beach bike path but far enough out to be very quiet. the kids loved having a pool right out the front door. the home was very clean and the hardwoods were beautiful. don't forget to grab some cooking oil, we found that was about the only thing we were missing.

A quiet beach resort
We had a good time! The house was nice and peaceful! The only downside is internet went down but they were trying to fix it! Over all a good trip!

The entire Belize experience was amazing. Barbara’s beach house on Caye Caulker was amazing. The property manager took great care of us and made some great recommendations of activities and restaurants. They went as far as to set up the activities for us which made our visit that more enjoyable without the stress planning. This will definitely be a return destination.
