An amazing property in a stunning location! Pete and Jules were fabulous hosts - couldn’t fault anything! 10/10

What a gem! Beautiful setting, stunning scenery, Julie and Peter are so welcoming and ready to help with anything. Clean and comfortable villa and the pool is paradise surrounded by beautiful flowers/plants and looks over the mountains. Spent a week not doing much but there's plenty to do for those who keep busy. The best supermarket we found was Conad in Casoli. On the small side but has everything you could possibly need. We had a wonderful week in amazing Abruzzo.

Jools and Pete are true super-hosts! Warm and welcoming; kind and genuine. Casa del Zia is as described and the photos a true reflection.
This lovely couple go above and beyond- they met us at the airport and we followed them to the villa in our hire car. They purchased an air conditioning unit to make us more comfortable in the heatwave. They are knowledgeable about the local area and have many recommendations to make..restaurants, beaches, gelaterias and activities. We have numerous holiday highlights, but one was going for Sunday lunch at the local agriturismo. A perfect way to immerse in Italian family culture. The facilities at the villa are superb and the pool is a real luxury treat!
Thank you to you bothJools and Pete.

We stayed four days at Casa Della Zia and we really enjoyed the cosy and clean villa. There is a fully equipped kitchen in which we could make some great Italian lunches and dinners to enjoy at our perfect private roof terrace with stunning views. The swimming pool is lovely and to be used privately as well. The hosts are lovely and extremely hospitable, they're really welcoming and make sure that everything you want or need is covered: they drove us to a lunch and a winetasting, that they arranged for us, because there was alcohol involved, and Julie also went to the pharmacy and hospital with us to help us there since we don't speak Italian. Such great helpfulness and so friendly, great people to be surrounded by and have .

To begin Pete and Jools as hosts have few peers. They were kind, gracious, welcoming, and attentive. Arriving at the villa, there was a welcome package carefully vetted beforehand of any preferences/allergies. The villa was clean, well equipped, and supremely comfortable. The views from the patio have to be seen to be believed, the perfect spot for a morning coffee, watching the sunset, or stargazing. Will plan on staying here again and feel like we have made new friends.

From the moment we booked Casa della Zia - we felt unique in that Peter and Julie cared for us by providing driving instructions - tips and suggestions regarding our stay. The villa is PeRFECTO - clean, great location, fully equipped kitchen, linens and towels etc. We felt at home from the moment we arrived - Peter and Julie were the perfect hosts- they were very respectful of our privacy while being available at the same time:) and their 3 cats and 2 dogs only added value to this whole experience. We hope to visit again soon- many thanks for sharing this beautiful home with us. Johanne and David

An idyllic spot in Abruzzo
This is the best holiday let we have ever had. The cottage is extremely well appointed, spacious, and comfortable, with lots of outside seating areas. Jools and Pete are wonderful hosts. They, are friendly and helpful. They have created a beautiful garden and the unrestricted use of the swimming pool was a god-send in the hot weather. The dogs, Mac and Moss, and the 3 cats are equally friendly and welcoming. There is a general store in the village that sells everything from food to clothing and shoes. In short we had a wonderful time here and will certainly return.

Pete and Jools are your perfect hosts - being out of way , yet 5 yards away when advice is needed. And the Villa (or should we say house or Casa) is perfect for 2 . Upside down accom gives a cool bedroom at night yet the living room/kitchen provides everything needed (including a food welcome pack) and a patio giving the most spectacular views of Palombaro , the mountains and down the valley to Casoli. Down the road is Maria’s local shop/bar where all provisions are available - a 10 minute meander down and an invigorating 20 minute return walk to your Casa. The sights and sounds of Abruzzo take you back to a simple and friendlier time as the locals are charming and will converse with you as if you are a Abruzzian (?) . The value for money of the accommodation and the cost of local produce and refreshments cannot be faulted and together with the glorious weather we experienced made this one of our best holidays . And (how can we forget) the magnificent 12 m long pool which during our visit had a water temp of 26 to 28 deg C ! Lots more to say but having only returned today from the 2860 mile return drive to Abruzzo , rest is required ! Do not be in any doubt about booking this Casa with Pete and Jools as your friendly hosts.

Highly, highly recommended
Casa della Zia was the perfect holiday rental for us. Perched on a hill-side, gazing out on the green valley below, the lovely neighbouring hill-top towns of Palombaro and Casoli, and the beginnings of the mountainous Maiella National Park, we were transfixed. We breakfasted on the sun-drenched upper patio, within easy reach of the well-equipped kitchen. We swam in the wonderful pool, and we lazed on the loungers in the shade beside the pool. We slept deeply in the cool lower bedroom, and showered in the lovely bathroom. We have been fortunate to travel to many parts of the world and stay in all sorts of accommodation, and Casa della Zia was right up there with the best of them.
Our hosts, Pete and Jools, were great – on hand if needed, but not impinging at all on our privacy. They were very helpful when we were trying to negotiate through our first week’s isolation and through the bureaucracy of obtaining the necessary antigen testing. Jools’s conversational Italian was particularly impressive! Many thanks to you both.
We travelled widely through Abruzzo, visiting L’Aquila, Sulmona, Castel del Monte, Santo Stefano di Sessanio, Guardiagrele, Casoli, Palombaro, Pescara, Ortona, San Vito Chietino, the beach at Le Morge, and Vasto, and seeing some astonishingly beautiful scenery.
The Abruzzese were unfailingly friendly and helpful, and very tolerant of our poor grasp of the Italian language.
Highly, highly recommended.

Vacanza perfetta

Roberto e Sabina

Just Fantastic
We had a wonderful week; totally relaxing. Detached property with a very private terrace and stunning views. Jools and Pete were perfect hosts; so considerate and obliging. They took particular care to ensure we had the maximum privacy but were there to help if needed. The infinity pool was fantastic and totally private. Nearby there were plenty of interesting places to visit but we were so taken with the location we stayed put! There’s a great food store within walking distance which has everything you might need at a reasonable price . We can’t wait to go back.

"Room" with a view !
A very happy holiday- two weeks in September and we wished it could have been three! We were looked after very well and had all and more that we needed, so it was too easy to sit on the large balcony and do nothing but gaze at the view! However, for the more energetic the Abruzzo is stuffed full of things to see, the coast is near and the mountains are on the doorstep. The only word of warning - the mosquitoes seem worse than in previous years in this part of Italy but thankfully there were nets on all the windows! (Bring good mozzie repellent if you are susceptible -the local shops have plentiful supplies too!).
We shall be back!

Great hideaway for a couple
There are not many properties with a pool that are perfect for couples. Many times you need to either share with other properties or with another house. Here Pete and Jools give you free run of the pool when you are staying with them. They are the perfect hosts and will provide help if needed or equally leave you to yourselves if that is what you want. The accommodation is great with a spacious upstairs living area/kitchen with large balcony (fantastic views). Downstairs is a large bathroom, utility area and good size bedroom. Only downside is no aircon but there are shutters on windows, and fans to help keep the rooms cool. Pete and Jools sorted out our hire car issue for us (flat tyre) with the help of the local garage which is an indication of how generous they are with their assistance. The dogs and cats are lovely and no trouble if anyone is wary of animals, they are very gentle and friendly. Thank you Pete and Jools for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Superb!
Very nice house with lots of space and conveniences, like a nice swimmingpool. Well located and a view you won’t forget. Pete and Jools are both very kind and helpful. We really felt at home.
Only one suggestion: an airconditioning would be comfortable during warm days like ours.

Fantastische vakaniewoning

Wonderful hosts and a sweet villa
Peter and Julie couldn’t have been more helpful or kind. They went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time possible. The villa is sweet and the view just astounding! It’s an adventure to drive around the area and best done both sober and with a great sense of adventure! It wasn’t appropriate weather for using the pool, but it looked lovely.

Just fabulous!
Well I don't really know what to day. We had such an amazing holiday, after 2 weeks we didn't want to go home, we wanted to move in!
Pete and Jools have created such a beautiful holiday home which makes the most of the fabulous location. The views.... well, they are better than you see on the photos. I could just sit there for hours watching the birds soaring, clouds moving across the mountains and the occasional storm in the distance. Bliss! Wishing we were back there now writing this!
The casa is incredibly well equipped there was nothing we didn't need during our 2 weeks. The welcome basket was superb (I'm running out of superlatives!) and provided us with a generous dinner the first night and breakfast the following day. The pool is just perfect, the weather was really hot when we were there and it was great to have it to ourselves whenever we wanted.
Abruzzo was a bit of a revelation to us and the area surrounding the casa give you so much to do, we did some brilliant hikes in the Majella mountains which were easy to follow with our map from the helpful guy linked to the Pretoro tourist office. The beaches are a close and easy drive and we had a fabulous lunch in Trabocchi Punta Cavaluccio (11 courses of seafood including wine and water €50 each!). Then of course there are all of the beautiful mountain villages. Definitely worth a visit is the local Agriturismo L Uliveto for their Sunday lunch. Another crazy amount of delicious regional food with local families. Thank for suggesting and booking that for us Jools and Pete!
Anyway, I could go on but I think I have character limit on here... It was a fantastic holiday. Would recommend it to anyone who wants some peace and quiet, views and wanting a real Italian experience without hoards of tourists. Just don't tell too many people!

Joools and Pete are the perfect hosts. You could not wish for a more relaxing stay in this fabulous part of Italy. From the welcome pack to the immaculate accommodation Casa della Zia is the perfect getaway for a truly relaxing holiday. The pool is just what you need to cool off when the need arises. Local shops are 10 minutes drive away. Whilst we did not 'dine out' Jools is happy to book you places in local restaurants, if your Italian is not up to it.
Jools was kind enough to meet us at Pescara airport, which really helped, as our flight was a late one. The airport is about an hour away and finding your way to the villa would be a little difficult without assistance. Having said that, sat nav is a bonus!
Views, peace and quiet and Italian hospitality, what more could you want?

Best little home away in Abruzzo
Wow!
On arrival, Pete & Jools made us feel so very welcome when they met us in Limiti to guide us up to their stunning place in the hills, the road up to the Casa isn't on any sat nav or Google maps.
The drive up the hill is enchanting with magical views as you wind your way up.
Once we arrived at Casa della Zia, they couldn't have been more helpful, showing us the many facilities of the Casa and then going above and beyond offering to assist with the luggage from the car etc.
The villa is perfect for 2 people and was immaculate.
The welcome basket was perfect for our first evening, with all you could need to snack on, prepare a meal and breakfast the following day.
Our stay went from fantastic to fantastic plus plus plus, with every facility we could wish for including a better Wi-Fi connection than we have at home!
Pete & Jools were available for any questions or advice needed (including Jools translating cooking instructions on the back of a packet for us, due to her ability to speak and understand Italian).
However, when we wanted to just relax - we didn't know they were there.
Their hospitality knew no bounds as they invited us to dinner half way through the week - Jools cooking is amazing.
Even though we both have appetites similar to sparrows, we actually devoured her 3 course meal and ensuing enticing and interesting conversation - the perfect way to while away an evening.
Even with our poor Italian, the very well stocked (petrol & diesel pumps included!) local store - Maria's - a 5 minute drive from the villa, made us feel very welcome with the greeting, 'Ciao, are you from Casa della Zia?' without us even saying anything and proceeded to help in English, where our Italian failed.
The other local villages (Polambaro, Casoli etc) are only a short drive away on very quite roads (rush hour constituted of 4 cars!) and are beautifully picturesque with friendly locals, although our desire to explore the area was somewhat curtailed by the craving to be enjoying the facilities and the stunning panorama of the Casa.
Pete & Jools place is an absolute credit to them with every facility being well thought out & is testament to their hard work of renovating both houses and their commitment to being exceptional hosts.
The 3 dogs, although friendly, are not obtrusive - tummies and backs gratefully scratched but they won't hound you!
We could enthuse forever - but...
Thanks so much Pete & Jools, see you again as soon as we can.

Amazing Home Away From Home!
Where to begin? From the time we arrived at Jools & Peter’s place we felt right at home. There’s a lovely welcome basket that has more than you need to snack on and make dinner for your first day. The villa itself is immaculate boasting spectacular mountain views—we marveled at the low drifting clouds and amazing starlit skies, it’s truly relaxing and rejuvenating just sitting on the terrace. As lovely as the villa is—and it is wonderful—it pales in comparison to the heartwarming hospitality of the hosts, Jools & Peter. We can honestly say without reservation that they went out of their way—WAY OUT—to deliver us a personalized and memorable stay in Abruzzo. I was doing genealogical research and planned on visiting my great-grandfather’s home town in the hopes of attaining his birth certificate. My husband and I were renting a car in Italy for the first time—and not loving the experience, LOL—and Jools and Peter most graciously offered to drive us to the archival building—3 hours away!!! Not only did we have a most enjoyable road trip with them, Jools translated for me so I was able to navigate the documents and records with the local staff with ease. Additionally, when it came time to drop off the car, (we needed to do so a day before check out), they drove with us to the rental agency and saw that all went smoothly (Jools oversaw the whole return process with her awesome translation skills again!), and they drove us to the train the next morning. We have immense gratitude for the lengths that these two went to on our behalf. They are truly dedicated to making sure you have the vacation that you desire. Though they are on the property (in their own separate home) they insure that you feel complete privacy and they are also more than readily available to help with any needs that may arise and make helpful suggestions for dining and touring the surrounding area. They also hosted us for a scrumptious home cooked dinner on our second to last night there! And the pool. Well, suffice to say that lounging poolside, enjoying the spectacular views really makes you know you have picked a wonderful place to relax and unwind—it feels like you’re on a movie set with that amazing backdrop. It’s evident how much work and care has gone into every detail of this villa. Staying here felt like we were at a friend’s place. We now count Jools & Peter as two wonderful new friends. We are so happy to highly recommend this lovely vacation retreat!

The ideal place to stay in Abruzzo. Outstanding.
We’ve booked holiday homes many times through this site and Pete and Jools’ Casa della Zia was certainly the most welcoming and accommodating of any I can remember.
The house is perfectly situated for exploring the highlights of Abruzzo, and many spectacular sights are less than an hour away, but the real bonus is its location with panoramic view of a valley, two hillside towns, and impressive mountains. From the terraces and splendid pool, we witnessed shooting stars, bats, owls, and firework displays, and the sunrise can be seen without even getting out of bed.
The house is equipped and decorated like a real home, not just a holiday rental, and included everything we needed to live comfortably for our two week stay. We are very keen cooks and the kitchen was perfect for bringing back market produce and preparing Abruzzese-inspired meals. We very much appreciated the washing machine, large refrigerator, reliable internet connection, and oscillating fans.
The pool was a pleasant surprise, being much larger than I expected, and with a wonderful view all around. There are also three sets of lounge furniture and umbrellas dotted around the site, which provided much needed shade during the heat wave we experienced.
The real keys to the success of this accommodation are its hosts, Pete and Jools, who live in the nearby house but who provide as much privacy, freedom, advice, and support as any guest could wish. I would imagine that if complete solitude was what a guest wanted, they could spend one or two weeks here without ever seeing or hearing their on-site hosts, but we enjoyed getting to know both and were lucky enough to share two meals together under the stars. On a few occasions, we made suggestions that might improve the experience for future guests and then returned from an excursion to find that what we asked for had been done during the day while we were out. They did research for us, booked a table at a local restaurant, and even offered to drive us to local venues if we didn’t want to drive ourselves.
It is not easy to find holiday rentals of this quality for two people and we are very grateful that we did. We would certainly return to Casa della Zia if visiting this area of Abruzzo in the future.
