A nice property with a fantastic view over the Glaslyn estuary. A great base to explore the area. Plenty of public transport so you can park up and leave the car. The coastal scenery is fantastic with miles of golden sand, the heritage railways are on the doorstep if you want to have a change in pace. I was quite lucky with the weather but had a really comfortable stay in a lovely property.

Wonderful
Lovely comfortable house in a fantastic location, very easy to find. It's a great base to tour around North Wales although it was hard to tear ourselves away from the ever changing view. The sun shone for us and watching the full moon rising over the estuary at high tide was amazing. We couldn't have been happier and hope we can return next year. Thanks very much.

Lovely week
Very nice property in a lovely spot. The view across the estuary from the lounge and balcony is wonderful, so much to see including all the activity at the Ffestiniog Railway. The property was extremely clean and had everything you needed in it

A nice house
It is a lovely house. A bathroom is a little bit small and old one, but a kitchend and living place is modern and beautiful. Views from the small terrace are beautiful!

A wonderful second stay
This was our second stay at the property and it didn’t disappoint. We had the added experience of watching the steam trains chugging across the Cobb as last time we visited in winter. The property was clean and well appointed . The short walk into town gave us access to everything we needed. Sue, the owner, was very helpful and was readily available and cheerful when communicating.

Great Central Snowdonia location.
Very well presented property with good quality furnishings on a private wharf. Location Location, looking out over a wildlife haven. Porthmadog has everything you need for your hols, the Purple Moose Brewery is well worth a visit. Relaxing on the raised area and listening to nothing but the steam trains was fantastic. You can get a steam train from Porthmadog to Caernarfon, which takes only 2 hours and the veiw is great. Snowdon is around 45 minutes away and we'll worth a look. Bondant Gardens is around an hour away but is one of the best gardens we have ever seen.
We enjoyed our visit so much that we are looking at booking for next year.

Alan's visit
Very neat, clean and comfortable. Brilliant central location and views and everything worked well, except that I couldn't guess the pin number for Sky catch-up!

Beatiful location handy for local tourist spots
The property was ideally situated for local amenities and for us was within easy reach of other tourist destinations. The area was extremely quiet apart from the steam railway warming up in the morning:)

Blissful stay in Porthmadog
Our second visit and we are already planning a return. Wonderful views over the estuary from this delightful apartment. Well appointed with everything you might need for a stay of a few days. Owner's communication very good.

Another lovely week
This is a brilliant place to stay for anyone but especially if you like the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway and birdwatching. The view from the living room and balcony is breathtaking, whatever the weather. You can observe all the railway activities across the Cob and in the station. A plethora of birds can be seen feeding in the estuary and the provision of a good pair of binoculars and lots of bird books by the owners is a nice touch too. To simply see the tides eb and flow each day is a magical experience - there’s always something different to see.
Location-wise you couldn’t have it better. A decent parking space and town is a mere 5-10 minute walk. There’s lots of places to eat within this distance - Spooners on the station is great for good, simple pub food, decent beer and a great atmosphere. The Australia a bit further into the town is also great, although get there early for a table. There are so many great places to visit or walk within a few minutes drive too. Lots of leaflets provided in the house if you need inspiration.
The apartment is in great condition and beautifully presented. It’s comfy and the open-plan upstairs kitchen/dining/living/balcony area is perfect. Kitchen well equipped and everything works. Two small but comfy bedrooms downstairs with lots of storage. Bathroom practical with shower cabinet. Two bunks would work better for us in the 2nd bedroom rather than a double, as our kids are getting bigger, meaning this is sadly likely to be our last stay for the moment.
The house was spotless and the grounds outside are well kept. Whilst the Wharf was busy over Easter weekend with other residents enjoying the weather, it was never noisy and things were very tranquil around us mid-week. You really wouldn’t think the bustling town is only a few minutes away.
Thank you Gareth and Sue for two very special holidays on South Snowdon Wharf. We would recommend it without hesitation!

What a wonderful holiday rental
A fantastic, well equipped apartment with a view to die for. So comfortable we felt like it was home the minute we walked in. The view from the apartment is unbelievable, loved sitting on the balcony watching the birds and the steam trains, the weather was so good we even managed breakfast on the balcony one morning and it was only March. We've stayed in many similar apartments in Porthmadog but this is by far the best. We will certainly be booking again!

Well equipped & comfortable harbourside house superb views
The house is ideally situated on South Snowdon Wharf, just a few moments walk from the Ffestiniog/Welsh Highland Railway Harbour Station. It has breathtaking views of the estuary, the Cob and the Mountains of Snowdonia and if you love narrow guage steam trains, it could not be better located. However, even if you have no interest in railways, it still could not be better located!
The house is very sensibly "upside down" with the 2 bedrooms and shower room/toilet on the ground floor and the open plan kitchen/dining area/lounge and terrace (with its fabulous views) on the first floor. The fittings and furnishings were all of high standard, very clean, stylish and well maintained but with a very homely feel.
Gareth and Sue sent us very helpful friendly messages and were kind enough to let us have access to the house in the morning of our arrival, rather than having to wait until the normal check-in time. We were fortunate that the weather was glorious while we were there but I am sure we would have been very comfortable, even if it had not been. We will definitely be back, if they will have us!

Comfortable house with amazing views
We spent a lovely three nights at the property. It was everything we wanted including an amazing view which we could have watched for the whole weekend. We have been visiting Porthmadog for many years but have never experienced it from that aspect. The property was warm, comfortable and very clean and the fixtures and fittings are of a high standard which you don’t get in all the properties we have visited. We have already booked for four nights in July.
