About this apartment rental
Peaceful log cabin apartment on 8 acre property. Beautiful gardens, fall foliage, and steps away from Atkins Reservoir and Robert Frost Trails. Great area for hiking and biking! 5 minutes from Amherst College and UMass. Close to Hampshire College, Smith College, and Mount Holyoke as well.
Our listing is Northeast of the campuses, which is awesome for high traffic travel times. Most people visiting these campuses are coming from the other directions.
Even though we are within 5 minutes of the Colleges and Amherst Center, we are nestled on the North side of Mount Boreas, kitty-corner to the Atkins Reservoir, and steps away from Robert Frost Trails. You will find yourself surrounded by quiet wilderness and only a short drive to everything else you need.
You have private access to the pool house/cozy cabin which includes entryway, main living area, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. In addition, you may use the deck around the apartment. Please enjoy the patio furniture we have provided. You will also have shared access to the pool area during the day (Last week of May through First Week of September). For safety reasons, we ask that you do not swim after dark. We may need to open the pool late or close early due to weather, schedules, etc.
The guest door is located halfway around the right side of the home (in a little alcove). This is your private entrance. You will be provided a keyless entry code before you arrive. This gives you the freedom to check in anytime between 3p and 12a and check out anytime before noon.
The bathroom has a walk-in 1 person shower stall. There is no bathtub available.
Some cell phone carriers have limited service at our listing. We have provided a landline that is available for unlimited calling in the US and Canada. You are more than welcome to share the landline number with those that you need to keep in contact with. Please just share your check out dates with them, so they do not call future guests :).
We also provide free WIFI, so you can connect your mobile devices for access to internet-based communication applications.
Free Parking in the driveway for up to two cars. Public transit is available with the nearest bus stop just over 1 mile from our location through the PVTA bus line.

We had never been to New England before and are, now, wondering what took us so long! The cabin is beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained. The hosts are delightful and accommodating! We made beautiful memories this week! Thank You Betsy and James!

We very much enjoyed the peace and quiet of this location, as well as the well-stocked kitchen and kind gestures (such as the bag of cider donuts on arrival along with some cold bottled water.) Heather was easy to communicate with and Betsy was wonderfully attentive and responsive. We highly recommend this cute little pool house, perhaps especially for a couple.

This was a lovely place just a short distance away from the bustle of campus life. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and cozy amenities and the warm hospitality of our hosts. We look forward to returning!

Beautiful property in a quiet area. Well-furnished private apartment stocked with sensible kitchen and bathroom accessories. A land-line phone is available if you do not get cell service and designated spots make parking a breeze. The pool was also great to have.

Such a great getaway Heather was extremely attentive when we were planning everything and Betsy and Jim were able to answer any questions we had over the weekend. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook dinner. The fireplace made for a great movie night next to the fire. Will definitely return!

UMass Move-In
The property was exactly as described and in the perfect location for dropping our son off at UMass. We will definitely be booking it again for move-out. The on-site caretakers were lovely to chat with as well!

The cabin was very comfortable and well-equipped. The pool was lovely - we swam every day. The location was great, close to lots of hiking trails. In particular, there was a reservoir just round the corner with a lovely walk around it. To be honest, there is nothing we would change. All in all, an excellent experience.

We stayed there nights while visiting our daughter at U Mass. The house is on a beautiful property and there are many trails for walking or hiking. Meanwhile, it's a short drive to the town center. The house is super clean and very nicely furnished and cozy. We highly recommend to anyone who wants to visit the area.

We really enjoyed this property located in the middle of woods and has all the comforts of a home.

Oasis in the Woods
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Amherst. The rental was clean and in a great location. Our hosts were friendly and we were greeted with a tasty donuts. We would highly recommend this rental and hope to stay there again.

So many thoughtful touches
This pool house was a very comfortable base for my stay in Amherst. It's filled with sunlight, with a lovely high ceiling in the sitting/dining room. The galley-style kitchen is quite usable.
I particularly appreciated the many thoughtful touches, like USB charging ports on the bedside tables and a night light for the bathroom -- and all sorts of helpful information about the area.

Lovely stay in clean, cozy, well-appointed guest house
We loved our stay here! Even though the guest house is right next to the main house, it felt very private. The house is clean and the bed exceptionally comfortable. The view out is across the swimming pool (which was covered) to the woods.

Comfortable, open space, AC and a pool!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4-day stay in this house. The hosts were very helpful, everything we needed was provided. It was clean, quiet and the grounds are beautiful! Also, though it had a rural feel, we were just a quick drive into Amherst, which has a great cinema, and restaurants.
Nearby West Whately has Watermelon Wednesdays concerts. Attended Brooklyn-based Kittel and Co.--wonderful music!!!

The cabin was clean and comfortable with the advantage that it was close to Amherst and some very nice hiking trails. Our hosts were very gracious and we would certainly return.

Cozy Cabin
Perfect winter getaway! The cabin is cozy and clean. Heather was prompt with responding to all inquiries we had. Short drive to shops, food and Northhampton for music, nightlife and spa. Near many hiking trails. My friends and I really enjoyed our long weekend at the cabin!

Clean, Relaxing, Lots to Do!
Loved the Cozy Cabin/Pool House. It was exactly as described (even better). It was warm and cozy with easy access to hiking trails. Close to town but far enough to feel secluded. Betsy was such a wonderful host and was there when/if I needed anything. I will be back!

Beautiful property, great pool, amazing owners!
We had a wonderful 3 night stay when bringing our daughter to begin her 4 yrs at Mount Holyoke College. We loved staying here--MUCH nicer than a hotel, and it was not too far from Amherst, Northampton and South Hadley. The bathroom and shower were pretty small (no tub), but it was clean and comfortable. The owners in the other house were so wonderful--they brought us locally made apple cider donuts and gave us suggestions on things to see and do. I would stay here again!

Loved everything about our stay!
Such a lovely home and such lovely hosts! We couldn't have asked for a better place. We had an incredible stay at the cozy cabin and loved every bit of our adventure. The cabin is close to everything, clean, comfortable, spacious and has every amenity you could hope for. They thought of every detail. There is much to see and do walking distance from the cabin as well as a short drive away. We can't wait to come back!!

Peaceful, beautiful, relaxing
My husband and I stayed at this property for two nights because we were going to a wedding nearby. The property was so neat and clean and lovely, the area was so quiet and peaceful, the pool and grounds were heavenly, and the hosts were very nice and welcoming. We hope to be able to stay here again, for longer!
