About this house rental
Congratulations!!
• You have found your holiday destination, a well-hidden secret in the Venus Bay hamlet nestled in South Gippsland.
• For your discovery by staying here, you will leave only footprints on the sand, and memories in your hearts, as the sea air gives you a renewed sense of self, to begin 2024 back on the treadmill of life.
• Many of you will be glad to have removed your ties and thrown your partner and if you have them the kids, dogs, boogie boards, suncream, and a sense of fun in the car. For a easy safe drive from Melbourne approximately 2.5 hours drive to the front door of your get-away at 44 Inlet View Road, Venus Bay.
• With the no wi-fi or dishwasher, this contributes to a better connection with loved ones, whilst enjoying some well-deserved Vitamin D, fishing, walking, local cafes and excellent surf.
• If the sand & surf are not your thing, then you can kick back on the large deck, with BBQ, read a book, take long walks on the beach or watch the sunset or rise.

Cosy place, nice outdoor areas, great location - has everything you need! Venus bay is so beautiful! We will be back!

The property was great and the arrival process was super simple thanks to very clear communication. The location in easy walking distance of shops was great. The beach is also walking distance but a bit further but a really nice patrolled surf beach.
The only down side is having to bring all of the linen and towels.
Would love to plan another trip to Venus Bay and stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was beautifully clean. And in a great location. Just a short walk to the shops and to the beach. The fence may not be great to contain all dogs, but ours was fine. And it was good to be able to lock him in the back deck as that was very secure. I would recommend the property for a relaxed beach holiday. Heaps of games and dvds available also for family time.

A really great family holiday with all modern conveniences to make a comfortable stay. The outdoor patio with bbq and pizza oven made family time together very special.
The hosts were responsive to some issues raised and fixed asap. They offered compensation a day refund or an extra night for free. We stayed an extra day in sunny Venus Bay.
We had an amazing holiday and look forward to booking again.
Thanks Debbie and Ian for sharing your holiday home with us.

A really nice property with heaps of facilities including large decking with bbq and pizza oven!
The newly renovated kitchen was great and pantry was well stocked with the essentials including an air fryer.
There’s lots of useful info in the welcome pack and also a beach trolley available for use.
First time for us in venue bay and we loved our stay!!

The property was very comfortable and well presented. The side fencing was dubious to contain medium to large dogs. Venus Bay is lovely, needs a dog beach. The Inverloch Dog beach is tiny and right against a road, cyclists etc..
We went to The Riverside Hotel down the road the Friday night for tea, great food, nice vibe and you can eat on the verandah with your dogs.

It was much bigger than we thought. Tge layout was perfect with two little kids. It was super clean. We loved the outdoor shower when we came from beach. The deck was awesome and also the pool table and all the board games. It was so close to the shops. And we walked to second beach.
Owners Ian and Deb were also easy to contact
Love it can’t wait to book it again.

There is no way this property has a cleaner, nor do I believe anybody had stepped foot in the property in months. It was beyond disgusting and if it wasn't a long weekend with everywhere else booked out and we hadn't of just driven three hours with a 1yo and 3.5yo I would have either turned around and gone home or tried to book somewhere else. Instead we had to clean the house before we could even use it. Below is a copy and paste of the issues I sent through to the owner (this was accompanied by a dozen photos). Unfortunately these issues outweighed any positives (location to shops & beach walks).
We have found the house VERY dirty. If you have a cleaner, they need to be replaced. If you don’t have a cleaner you should consider getting one. It’s really not fair to expect guests to clean for an hour BEFORE they can even sit down in the house. As you are aware we have a crawling 1yo - she was filthy within minutes of arriving. I’ve just spent an hour (without any exaggeration) vacuuming the property while my partner sprayed and wiped and dusted every surface. And we’ve only done the basics there is plenty more that needs doing - every door track and window track is filled with dead creatures and under the couches is scary! I’m not sure how long it’s been since someone was here but I literally walked through cobwebs from the pool table to the aircon unit while vacuuming. Below is a short list:
- had to vacuum entire property (had to clean and empty blocked vacuum cleaner first) photo of vacuum cleaner is what I vacuumed up
- picked up a screw, an elastic band, two lollipop sticks and wrapper, a piece of popcorn and a piece of plastic that could not be vacuumed up.
- ended up rolling up rugs as they are beyond cleanable
- had to wipe every surface including around beds (bed frame, bedside table etc) as they were thick with dust
- had to wipe down couches and bang out cushions that were filled with dust
- had to wash multiple dishes we’ve gone to use
- no toilet paper in toilet, toilet dirty and there is no toilet brush
- shower dirty
- blankets and doonas smell and need airing
-the gas bottle for the bbq is empty so we were unable to use this
- the bins are full (not from us, we had one bag of rubbish) so we have put them out on the kerb so they can be collected
- the grass needs mowing it’s quite long
- we could not find a bottle opener or teaspoons at all during our stay.

Had a great stay in Venus Bay. This property was neat and clean. The pool table provided some handy entertainment. The owners were great on the communication leading up to the stay. The property is in the perfect location with the main strip of shops including the general store only a few mins away on foot.
