About this house rental
Come enjoy the extraordinary beauty and warm friendliness of Grand Lake, Colorado with its abundance of Summer and Winter activities! Built in 2006, this well-appointed 2000+ sq ft home is centrally located. It is just above the very charming Grand Lake Town with its old west buildings, boarded sidewalks and friendly residents. It is adjacent to the historic Grand Lake Lodge property, which provides for a peaceful mountain retreat and open space behind the home.
From the gorgeous great room with hand-built, river rock fireplace, or spacious deck, savor the beauty of majestic Mount Baldy and sparkling views of Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake! Take in the starry sky on a warm summer night while relaxing on the deck. Watch the best fireworks in the Rocky Mountains from the deck on the 4th of July or New Year’s Eve. In the winter when road snow pack allows, hop on your snowmobile right outside the door and ride into town or hook up with a trail into Rocky Mountain National Park. There are so many things to do and memories to make in Colorado’s best-kept secret!
Grand Lake Village and Grand Lake are within easy walking distance at less than one half mile away. Shadow Mountain Lake is less than one mile away. You’ll have easy access to over 100 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, enjoy the lakes, shop, and eat in town. Lake Granby is just a few miles down the road.
The West entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is 2 miles away. There you may encounter moose, big horn sheep, or elk herds. Hike to lakes, climb peaks, or simply enjoy the views. Incredible Colorado skiing is nearby with Ski Grandby Ranch only twenty minutes away; Colorado’s playground - Winter Park Ski Resort and Mary Jane only forty minutes away; and Steamboat Ski Resort, with its legendary champagne powder is a little over an hour away!
Note: VRBO groups search results for Estes Park and Grand Lake together. This home is in Grand Lake on the West side of RMNP. Estes Park is at the East entrance of RMNP, about 50miles from Grand Lake via the famous Trail Ridge Road through the National Park. When the road is open (typically Memorial Day to Labor Day, or into October if weather allows), the drive will take about 2.5 hrs with stops for sight seeing and Park traffic. In winter, the drive between Estes Park and Grand Lake is about 150 miles and 3+ hrs as you must drive alternate (but faster) roads into the mountains (I-70 out of Denver, to Hwy 40 over Berthoud Pass to Grand County/Winter Park, to Hwy 34 and Grand Lake)
Notice: Home is monitored by a security camera that views the driveway and weather over Shadow Mountain Lake.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I can’t say enough of how absolutely amazing our stay was in this home! The snowy Christmas views are to die for! The house was clean, the pots and pans were newer and clean, the size of the house was perfect for our 7 adults, the hot tub felt great, we even got to sit in the deck on a sunny 17 degree day with our coffee and enjoy the views!!!! The communication with the owner was prompt and clear. Such an easy drive to the shops/restaurants on the “strip” and man- it was like out of a movie- such quaint little shops with friendly owners! We rented an ice fishing guide to fish right on grand lake, super easy 5 min drive from this house. We also rented snowmobiles and rode in RMNP. You will not regret renting this amazing home! (Oh!- if you go in the winter and there’s snow- you better have 4 wheel drive to get up the steep hill or you probably won’t make it. We had a 4 wheel drive and had no problems but we took it slow). I would definitely come here again!!

Overall the cabin is nice in a good location. However when we got there not only did all the sheets on every bed smell bad but there was no hand soap, shampoo, conditioner. I replied back and haven’t heard anything from them in days regarding this.

We had a lovely time at Eagle's Nest! The weather was wonderful and the fall foliage was absolutely gorgeous! The cabin has a fabulous view of the lake, with plenty of room for our group of seven. Thank you for opening your home!

We had a great stay at this beautiful home. The view from the deck is gorgeous and we spent a lot of time on it. There was plenty of room and we appreciated the hot tub after hiking!

The property and location was very good overall. A little difficult for the grandkids to explore outside i.e. not much of a front yard. But close enough to RMNF to get out and have fun.

We had a great stay at Vandy's cabin! It was a great layout for our family which ranged from kids to grandparents. Everyone had their own space which was great. The location cannot be beat- less than 5 minutes from downtown and 5 minutes from RMNP.

This property is perfect for our friend gathering getaway! The house was clean and inviting and the views were stunning. Lots of trails nearby and close to the stores downtown. It was hard to leave this little oasis!
Only a few issues with the stove and the hot tub but otherwise, it was perfect. Thank you Vandy for a beautiful mountain getaway spot!

The house was great and the location was ideal. The hot tub was a great add for all of us. The house was well equiped with all the supplies you need and we even used the sleds. I would recommend this house for families and groups.

Hot tub did not work as advertised which was a bummer. Would have like to soak after a long day on the trails. Followed instructions on the hot tub to not push buttons, but the jets would not work after 20mins.
Nice property.

Property was decent size with plenty of beds. Kitchen was not very clean when we arrived, oven was not usable as it smoked up the whole house triggering smoke alarm, some of the dishes and utensils were not clean, floor was not swept up. Almost as someone forgot to clean the kitchen. The rest of the property was in decent shape.

Great location with amazing views of the lakes and mountains.

What a lovely property and we felt very welcomed. Everything we'll thought out I recommend this property and I will be back!

We had a wonderful time at this Grand Lake home. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and it had all the amenities we needed. It snowed while we were there and the driveway was plowed the next morning. The view of Grand Lake from the dining/living area was gorgeous. Our two granddaughters loved sledding on the street out front. We enjoyed the hot tub as well!! I highly recommend this property!

We had such a lovely time! My family really liked the layout with spaces for everyone, especially the kids. Location was perfect! Only travel issue was the hill to drive up to the house. We were told thoroughly about being prepared for Woodpecker Hill. Just listen to the owner. It’s a doozy, but we made it! The views from the front porch made the trip up that hill absolutely worth it! If there was one thing we could ask to be improved, would be the mattresses. Overall- we absolutely enjoyed our stay and would love to come back to stay again!

This is our 3rd time to rent this property & we are already planning to do so again next year. Lovely home with a tremendous view of Grand Lake from the upstairs deck! What a gem!

The house worked out so wonderfully for my family. My grown kids and their families. Four kids, three and under. Plenty of room for everyone to be together in the great room and plenty of room to spread out for naps. There were gates available for the stairways which was really nice with all the little ones. Everything was clean and we cooked several meals there, with plenty of kitchen utensils, pans etc. The deck had a great view of the lake and we spent a lot of time out there. Good experience all the way around.

Our family has been going to Grand Lake for years for vacations. We love it! The cabin we stayed at this trip was perfect for all of us. The view was breathtakingly gorgeous. The proximity to town was great also.
We were all very pleased and impressed with the house as well as all of the amenities for use. There were baby gates in place, booster seat, pack n plays, washer and dryer, detergent, kid friendly dish ware, stocked coffee bar, grill and so much more! I had brought so much with me having two little ones, but it was such a relief that so many things were there for our use.
The homeowner has been wonderful to work with. She would respond to any and all questions in great time. Thank you for sharing your home with our family! This was my husband and kids first trip out to Colorado and it was very memorable for each of us!
