Great place for a family our small group
4.5
We all (12 of us) loved our week at the lake! The location was perfect for fishing, jumping off the dock and swimming, or just floating on rafts. Boat rental is about 5 mins away, and we enjoyed 2 days with jet skis and a pontoon boat with tube. Great hiking is nearby and we had a fun day at Dollywood. There is truly something for everyone!

The way the house was layed out was perfect for our group of 21. The location to attractions were all within 30-40 minutes. Any issues we had was addressed and taken care of immediately after notifying the contract person. There was ample parking however the lane is only wide enough for 1 car. There isn't a turn around so you have to back down the driveway. The grill is charcoal. Great place for fishing, boating, and swimming. Our group age range was 2 years and up everyone had a blast and request a return visit.

Had a great week with our children and grandchildren. Lots of space for everyone and loved the four and a half baths. We rented a boat for two days and rented jet skis for half a day. Kitchen/ very well stocked. Bedrooms were large and there were plenty of decks and outdoor areas. Recommend not drinking the water. We bought bottled water. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful time loved our stay! I would recommend this property to anyone.

The whole family had a wonderful time. Can’t wait to do it again. No cleaning supplies, but had a huge cleaning list. Not all things where as clean as we left the property.

The house was more than enough space for my large families. There was plenty of rooms & beds for everyone. The best part was the lower living area. Basically a mother in law suite! The sun rooms were very relaxing. The kitchen was very open and plenty of room to cook & eat as a family. Dining Room was a plus! Games kept the kids occupied. The deck was beautiful as it looks out to the lake. We went during low water season but even so, we can’t imagine how beautiful it would be for the summer days. Everyone enjoyed their stay very much especially the kids! The host, Stephanie was very responsive & genuinely nice overall. We will definitely book again in the future!

We had the best time! Had all of my family there with plenty of room! The house was exactly what we needed. Beautiful views and great dock for my sons boat! The GRANDS loved fishing from the dock and especially loved the game room!
There was plenty of parking too.
The ease of the check in was very convenient.
We cooked in and the kitchen was very well stocked!
Can’t wait for our return trip next year.

Let me start by saying you won't be disappointed if you choose to stay at this home. The property was made to accommodate large families there's plenty of space and was fully stocked. Except a few items such as a blender or iron but the towels were great quality. A hot bath and good night rest is important while vacationing to reset alot owners dnt give alot OF thought to this point. Love the way the rooms in the different parts of the house provide space for the children they were 2 bunk bedrooms one on the upper level which ill call the 3rd floor in 1 on the 2nd level which was close by the game room which was attached to sitting area like a sun room which was cool. Then you had the lower level which is not connected to the main or the upper level you have to go down a flight of steps. But it was really cool it had 2 bedrooms full kitchen dining room living room attached to a screened in porch so essentially you had 3 sitting areas den/family room, then you had 3 areas that were outside that you can sit on that would be considered a porch that was either screened in not screened in you know or like a sun room for reading. The home is great for family vacation close to stores. The beds were extremely comfortable and the blankets Heavenly. I been google searching for these Blankets yall. I need them 😩 😅. So plenty of space for my family of 14 we enjoyed the home we stayed here during the Christmas holiday now this was a special holiday and we had a blast but it was also one that no one could have not planned for " the Winter storm" The storm put a lot of pressure on the home heating system eventually we lost lights for almost 8 hours clser to evening when the temperature dropping it was extremely cold in the home I mean it got down to 7゚ outside so any heating system would have struggle keeping warm. This was extreme weather's no matter what occurred in the property, The owner was extremely responsive and kind. She took an genuine interest in our well being which is not common when renting homes you tend to get explanations rather than solutions. I wanna add we did wake up to snow which was special we hadn't experienced it before being from Florida. I totally would stay again. Thanks for the hospitality!

Just returned home after spending a week here! This house didn’t disappoint at all! I was a little skeptical going in based on many of the other reviews. It seems the owner reads and takes every single review seriously. There were 27 of us majority adults and teens. There was plenty of beds or space for air mattresses. The beds were comfortable with amazing soft blankets on them(would love to know where they got them). The air conditioning units kept the home extremely cool and comfortable (especially in high 80s-90 degree temps outside). The game room was fun. Overall, it was a great stay. The few downfalls, If you bring a boat I highly recommend launching it before arriving at the home. Backing in and out of the driveway is extremely tight! They forgot to pick up trash even when we called to ask about it. We filled all 6 trash cans and it was way overflowed by the time we left. The upstairs unit and bottom
Unit aren’t connected on the inside. So you must access the other unit by going outside. Both units had separate access codes 8 numbers long. I’d prefer if they were the same and maybe shorter in length. This would help with kids and adults after a few cocktails! Positives: close to grocery store( for ice and additional items we forgot), the dock was awesome and nice for docking multiple boats, the view of Douglas lake didn’t disappoint, it’s absolutely beautiful! I’d definitely stay in this home again, and would recommend it to family and friends!

Great place
Great place and good location especially if you are renting boats abs wave runners right around the corner. Kids loved the dock, good fishing and swimming while the parents floated and relaxed.

House was very roomy. Kids loved the dock to fish and swim.
Would definitely return.

Beautiful view but house needs some attention
We had a beautiful stay while spending most of our time outside on the docks. The house itself needs some attention. The doors could all use some oil as they are quite noisy. The beds are older and a bit hard. The cooking utensils could be better. You have to hold down the handle to toast bread and bagels. The pans were not nonstick and made cooking a bit tricky. With such a large home allowing for so many guests, it would be helpful to have larger pots and pans. But if you know these things in advance, you could bring your own. We did bring our own crockpots and that helped. We also brought our own lake towels, since it wasn’t listed that they would be available. The washer and dryer worked well and we were grateful for that convenience. The game room was fun for the kids and the option of 2 bunk rooms was nice so we could split up the kids by boys and girls rooms. We also were pleasantly surprised that the grocery store was only a few miles from the house and made shopping for food super simple.
Communication was great and the owners seemed very sweet! We appreciated them allowing us to stay in their home!

Upstairs unit of the property had some major issues . There was water outage in the whole house right after we checked. Manager got it addressed within 2-3 hrs. That was just the beginning. Taps in the upstairs unit bathrooms were clogged and water flow was in drops, we had to stand and wait for several minutes to even get handful of water to wash hands. Kitchen sink in upstairs unit was working for couple of hours but then the flow reduced to drops . Water did not drain from bathtubs (whoever took shower first were the lucky ones!). Garbage can itself was dirty with stains all over as well as on the wall next to it. Microwave had all food left over n stains made us feel disgusting ( we sent all pics to properly manager) . Stains on the couch, Utensils with heavily scratched bottoms which had lived there life were just dumped randomly. Whole upstairs unit had some weird smell. Our saviour was the downstairs unit. It was clean , water , shower , sinks all in working condition. View from deck was very nice though there is no easy access to water for kids to play (unless we missed it) . If you plan not to use upstairs unit at all , then it's a good property. Not for 20 ppl party like ours! We will remember our first Gatlinburg vacation for a different reason now!
4.5
The view & deck area exceeded my expectations and is one of the only reasons I’m giving a decent review. The house itself really needs some work. Only two of the showers (upstairs & downstairs separate unit) was decent however not consistent. The water would barely flow at times especially if someone else was taking a shower. We had 16 people staying during our family trip of all ages. The bunk beds were comfortable for the kids. All of the other adult beds were so uncomfortable, every adult complained. Also the house has separate air conditioning units for different parts of the house so depending on what bedroom you picked, you may be without air unless you leave the door open. During the week we stayed, 90+ degrees all week so the air conditioning was important to us after a long day on the lake. The listing also stated that the house was well equipped with pots/pans, etc however there were only a few small pots, 1 large skillet, no blender, no cookie sheets for baking just as an example. I will say that the house was large enough to accommodate 16 people with plenty of room but for the price it really needs updating. Check-in was not until 5pm and check out was at 9am? I was a little surprised at that especially based on the cost. You lose a day of vacation! Lastly, I will say that the owner/property manager was quick to respond to any of my question so I did appreciate that. This is the second trip to Douglas Lake and we hope to be back in a few years. Not sure where we will be staying during our next trip though.

We had a very nice time. Our group was 21 people and there was plenty of room. A couple things I really didn't like is that there is no connection to the bedrooms and kitchen etc. downstairs. You have to go outside, down the stairs and enter a code to go downstairs. It rained a couple of days and that was not fun having to go outside. The water pressure was very weak and there was an order coming from the drains.. Other than that, everything was good!

Loved the views of the lake and the ample outside seating. The access to lake was also well fenced off & dock was gated, so we could let our smaller kids play without much worry. Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay and may stay again.
We didn't fully understand based on the listing description that the Lower and Upper houses are completely separated (no stairs inside connecting the two or connecting the porches). Or that it had so many stairs, not handicapped friendly, until the email from the owner the week prior to the trip. We did have a little trouble with the key-pad lock malfunctioning, but Stephanie was quick to respond and give us a new number.

The dock is licensed for fishing!!! we rented a pontoon for 4 days and kept it on the dock which was very nice. only small issue for us, but no big deal was that the house is split into two units and to access the other unit you can only enter from another entrance so that is that but over all its nice

Thankful during Thanksgiving
We were very thankful to stay at this house for Thanksgiving. It was perfect for a family to come together from 3 different states. We had a great time. Great location. Great amenities. Spacious and clean. Great kitchen and huge table for a thanksgiving feast. Great view. I'm sure it is even more special during the summer.

House was clean and nice, lots of space. Good location to get to Pigeon Forge. The fall season is so pretty especially with the lake view. Would stay there again!

Beautiful and so peaceful.
Our family spent three days here and had a wonderful time. House has lots of space and rooms. We swam in the lake and done some fishing off the dock. Only a short drive to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge . Cant wait till we can go again.

Lots of swimming!
We loved the dock and swimming. It was 90 plus degrees and it was perfect to swim. The lake is so clear. Early in the morning and in the evening was the best time to catch fish. We rented a pontoon and only had time to explore half the Lake. It was one cove over so we were able to dock at the house for lunch. The house was perfect for everyone to enjoy without disturbing each other. We went into Gatlinburg and walked around town one day. Great vacation!

Excellent view
The setting of the house to view the lake and the mountains was wonderful! The accommodations suited our entire extended family. We had a good time visiting the Bush Bean Factory Restaurant and Museum that was only 10 minutes away. There was also a very nice town in Dandridge that had a nice restaurant. The grocery store was close also. We went to Knoxville one day to see the sites and we went to the mountains to hike some of the trails another day. The house was conveniently located to the larger attractions. The accommodations were great for us and we were able to play games and watch TV without bothering each other. Would love to return in the summer months for boating and swimming.
