About this apartment rental
The apartment is located in the exclusive district of New Home. New home is characterized by numerous late nineteenth villas and apartment buildings from the time of the turn of the century (1900). The location offers good transport links to the city center and all events, attractions and also to the hospital on the campus.
Around the Neuenheimer marketplace there are numerous restaurants and cafes. Market time is always on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Neuenheimer market is one of the most beautiful and charming farmer's markets around Heidelberg. All kinds of shops are also accessible on foot.
They live in a listed apartment house from the turn of the century in a latter day, but the history owed atmosphere. The apartment is located on the ground floor and is not a sterile hotel room, but should be a home for you. We want you to feel at home, whether for a longer weekend for a month or so. That is why we have put emphasis on quality amenities.

Large light-filled property.
Everything we needed for a 5 day stay. Plenty of room and loved the historic feel of the place with extremely high ceilings and lovely windows. The only confusion on my part was that when we asked if there was parking prior to our visit, we didn't understand that it would be a permit to park where ever you can find a spot on the street.

Excellent! Stayed with our infant. Would work for those travelling alone too.
Location: Very safe, beautiful neighborhood and building. Lovely neighbors, easy access to coffee shops, groceries and the river. If you are debating between Altstad and Neuenheim, the latter is very much for those preferring a quieter vibe. The old town is very busy and definitely does not have the same ambiance.
Property: lovely windows that open in, so lovely light and airflow. Automatic shutters helped with climate control, privacy and safety. Very well stocked, (coffee beans, paper towel, toilet paper, handsoap, dishsoap, garbage bags, etc.), could use a proper cutting board or two. Hallway and entry way very well lit,all on sensor lighting, impeccably clean throughout. If you are not used to European/German washing/drying/bathrooms/stoves, you might want some instructions for use, but doable as is.
Service: Thea was quick to respond to questions and brought us a hand blender in a matter of hours when ours broke! There was a lovely bouquet of flowers, some snacks and Prosecco to welcome us and we found we settled in quite easily.
This property would be an excellent choice for the single traveler or those looking for a long term rental. We stayed for 10 days and were comfortable throughout. Works with infants too, we paid an additional daily fee, but this included the use of a high chair and crib. A bit of a challenge with the bathroom lights shining into bedroom as there is large windows in that wall. So if your infant is sensitive to light, they might struggle. Even though there are steps into the property, we managed fine with our heavy Swedish stroller. Obviously not baby proofed and baby gates would not work so you might be running after your infant depending on their age.

Fantastic apartment very comfortable
Absolutely loved our recent stay in this wonderful apartment.
The property has everything you might need, very well appointed.
The only thing that was missing was a fan !
We stayed the last week in July and it was very hot 35 degrees.
Luckily we took a fan with us so all was good.
I would recommend the owners provide a fan for their guests.
We had a great holiday, really loved Heidelberg, especially the vast choice of restaurants in the old town, all within walking distance along the river.
One word of warning, if you drive into the old town - parking is difficult and in short supply.
Also parking at the property with the parking permit supplied was a problem on occasions, having to park a few streets away.
This however did not detract from a brilliant holiday.
We will definitely be coming back, and would not hesitate in staying in this property again
Thank you so much

Great Apartment for Our Long-Term Stay!
My husband and I were very comfortable and felt very much at home in this beautiful apartment while we were working in Heidelberg for 3 months in Spring 2017. If you want spacious, stylish, well-equipped and well-located accommodations, this is the perfect choice.
We like to cook, so we were delighted to find good quality knives, pots and pans. There is an awesome espresso machine too. There is plenty of storage in the bedroom (shelves and a wardrobe) and there is a washer AND a dryer. The living room is spacious, the television is new and big and the sofa, chaise and chairs are comfortable.
The neighborhood has beautiful homes and it is both quite and convenient. We were a 10 minute walk to work, the city center, and a very nice grocery story. In just 5 minutes you are at neighborhood restaurants, shops and markets. The tram stop is 3 minutes from the front door and the nearest bus stop is even closer.
The property manager and owner are friendly and very responsive. It was very helpful to be shown how to work the appliances, tv, etc. upon arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already reserved our dates for next year!

Zweite Heimat is ein passender Name

Absolutely heavenly!
I lived in this apartment from April to July while a guest professor at Heidelberg University. It was a beautiful walk to the Old City, the neighborhood is lovely and quiet, and the apartment is in a picturesque older building with 20-foot high ceilings and huge windows. It has been skillfully renovated and has a modern kitchen. It was excellent for writing since there was a solid wood table under a well-lit window as well as a big old desk. I still miss it!!

Wonderful apartment in an excellent location
This is one of the nicest apartments I have ever been in. It's located in a very desirable area of Heidelberg, about 10 minutes walk from the city centre.
I would guess the apartment is about 100 years old, with very high ceilings and big bright airy rooms. It has been very attractively renovated and decorated, with good quality furnishings, and has everything you could possibly need, from kitchen equipment to hifi and video stuff to comfortable beds to very efficient heating.
I spent four weeks here, getting to know the town and surrounding area. There are lots of shops about 5 minutes walk away, a good bus service into the middle of Heidelberg about 200 metres away, and an excellent tram service to the main station and other places. Parking is on street but the apartment comes with a permit and I had no trouble finding spaces. That said, you could easily get by without a car if you wanted to.
I think it's wonderful, very reasonably priced, and would heartily recommend it.
