About this house rental
Lake views are spectacular from the many windows of our cozy cottage on a quiet wooded street on the shores of Santuit Pond in Mashpee, Cape Cod. Enjoy tree-framed views of the lake from almost every room. Our convenient location offers access to many parts of the Cape, including the Cape Cod National Seashore. Shopping, movies, and a fabulous ocean beach are nearby.
The main entry brings you to the den, open kitchen, dining and living rooms, with a half bath on this level. A large deck on the lake side includes a gas grill and outdoor eating area with terrific views. 2 bedrooms--queen and twin/king--and a full bath are one level up, and a queen bedroom and a full bath are one level down. On the ground level you can walk out to a quiet office, or down steps to the lake. A total of 3 indoor living areas, plus a few outdoor areas, allow room for the family to engage in various activities. Have fun with games, puzzles, and the Foosball table, and enjoy our extensive collection of DVDs and large selection of books. With 3 bedrooms plus pullouts we host a maximum of 9 guests.
No smoking indoors, and please remove all traces of smoking outdoors. No pets, please. Minimum contract age 25.
Amenities: Fully equipped, updated kitchen with everything you'd expect to find, including lobster pots, blender, and more.
All linens are provided for bed, bath, and beach. Cable TV with VCR and DVD players, and a huge selection of movies. Stereo, CD, high-speed wireless internet, indoor and outdoor eating areas, books and games, phones, office, washer/dryer, central AC, LR gas fireplace for chilly times, gas barbecue.
Activities: Boating, fishing, biking, golf, movies, fitness center, shopping, ocean beach.
Area: Mashpee is midway between Falmouth and Hyannis, not far from Sandwich, on the Upper Cape. An hour's drive takes you to Provincetown, an hour and a half to Boston or Providence. Almost any activity you might wish for your holiday is within easy access. A favorite morning activity is sitting on the deck to enjoy the amazing sunrise over the lake while sipping your morning coffee.
When we remodeled the kitchen we thought about the extended families (including our own) who enjoy staying and cooking at Tree House. The island with vegetable prep sink and stools for chatting with the cook, stainless appliances, large dining tables both indoors and out--all make it easy to center your social life around meals. The den, living room, and family room in different parts of the house also work well for various family arrangements, so you can chat, play games, watch different movies at the same time. Of course there are plenty of places to eat out or watch the latest movies on the big screen if that fits your wishes. And you'll find numerous places to take walks, enjoy the beach, go to the islands for the day, browse for antiques.
Our guests enjoy sitting, fishing, swimming, and boating from the dock. Like many fresh-water ponds on the Cape, and in the northeast overall, sometimes ours has some algae, and on those occasions, you might choose to swim elsewhere. The views are always amazing. Bring or rent a kayak, paddle board, or canoe to enjoy the pond from many angles.

We loved our stay on the lake! The deck was perfect for dinners, our kids loved the foosball table, lots of cozy seating and everything you needed in a house!
4.8
Great property with a gorgeous deck and steps right down to the lakeside dock. Main floor and 2nd floor have great rooms and layout. Only criticism is the strong mustiness of the lower level bedrooms.

We had a great stay. The house was very comfortable, had everything we needed, and had great views. Kathy was very communicative and friendly.

This is a beautiful property, but it is important to know that Santuit Pond is usually not swimable due to algea. Still- we brough Kayaks and enjoyed that. The place was very clean- but the owners need to do something to mitigate a musty smell that some of us thought might be animal related- articularly in the finished basement.

Very nice property, peaceful surroundings. Everything as described. We enjoyed our stay.

The good:
We enjoyed our stay. Outdoor spaces were peaceful and quiet. Detached office was a nice place to work. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook. Upstairs bedrooms and bath were comfortable. Spacious dining and living areas for our large group to spread out. The books were a big hit with the fantasy fans of our group.
The not-so-good:
Downstairs bedroom only had one twin bed (two are shown in listing photo). Downstairs shower leaks.

Beautiful property overall. Plenty of space inside and it was nice relaxing on the deck overlooking the pond. Had everything we needed for grilling and dining. Access to an use of the dock made for a great weekend fishing the pond.

We had an amazing Fall week in October. The lake views are amazing. The street is calm and peaceful. The house is well stocked with everything you could possibly need.

Loved the house
We loved the house. The kids enjoyed it immensely

The view and setting were lovely. Living space on the main floor was clean and very nice. Well stocked kitchen, large table for meals, plenty of space to spread out. Problem was the musty odor. The entrance hall and second floor were tolerable once we closed the house up and ran the ac, lower level rooms were really bad. Visible mold on the lower bathroom door frame. Small back bedroom was particularly bad. Three quests had reactions to the mold. Queen Mattress in the lower bedroom needs replacing. Twin mattresses in the second level bedroom were also bad. No hand soap supplied for the lower bathroom. We enjoyed the deck and launched our kayak from the dock for a nice paddle around the pond. A mixed experience stay.

This home is truly even better than the pictures. Upon arrival, walking out to the back to see the view of the pond is truly stunning. The deck is large and can accommodate a large group for lounging or dining. The house was a perfect size for our group of 9, and was very comfortable for our stay. Fully stocked kitchen, plus great communication prior to arrival with all the information we would need during our stay. Thank you for making our weekend memorable at your home!

Beautiful spot!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house and spot on the pond were beautiful. We rented kayaks and paddle boards and had them delivered to use on the pond which worked perfectly. The house worked great for our family.
4.8
The house was great. Plenty of room. The kitchen really did have everything anyone could need, so we did not have to bring much. The view is amazing and the neighborhood is great for walks. The communication with the owner was flawless, she was very responsive. The one draw back was that the lake was closed for swimming, which is what we really looked forward to. But beaches are plenty at the Cape, so we adjusted our plans accordingly.

Treehouse fit us almost perfectly: size, number of rooms, layout, well-stocked, of course the deck and beautiful, peaceful pond, and location on Cape Cod which we loved. The only downside was the mustiness of the downstairs bedrooms which would keep some in the family from wanting a return trip, and the mattresses were a bit uncomfortable for some. Overall, .lovely and memorable and much appreciated.

I wish we could have stayed longer. As soon as you pull up to this home, you feel relaxed. When entering the door, you can immediately see out to the deck and water. It was peaceful and comfortable. We enjoyed our too short stay. Pictures very accurate.

The main floor was beautiful, easily accommodating a large group. The deck was large with great view of lake and nice gas barbeque. The bedrooms upstairs were comfortable and clean. However, there was a strong musty smell in the 2 basement bedrooms making it difficult to sleep in them.

Kathy was super helpful and responsive to all our questions. Her home is lovely and true to the description. We had two families so one family was able to take the downstairs with the two bedrooms and futon and the other family took the upstairs two bedrooms. The home was very welcoming and the private dock was perfect for fishing and kayaking. There were lots of quiet back roads to walk and run on as well and the location was perfect for all of our adventures.

lovely property with a view of the pond. We rented a kayak and paddleboard for three days which really made it perfect. The separate office was pretty musty, so unfortunately, my son and his wife could not work from there. The property had plenty enough space that they could get their work done, sometimes on the back deck which is large and pleasant to hang out on. Central air and a wall dehumidifier definitely helped this warm week in july. Kitchen is modern with a large table for family dinners. Basement boasts a fooseball table and washer dryer, in addition to two bedrooms and bathroom.

We had a great time!
We had a lovely time and would consider renting the house again. The pond is perfect for fishing and the layout was perfect for our party. The teens could be down stairs and the adults upstairs. The setting is very pretty.

Fantastic place for family to gather
Loved the space and location....truly the kind of place a group can gather and have multiple spots to hang out and talk or read or take in the beautiful view. The house was very clean and well organized. I have to take a star off for the mattresses. They are uncomfortable and ready for replacement or refurbishment with mattress toppers.

Fantastic Girls Getaway!
I rented this house for a surprise Girls Getaway. My friends couldn't get over what an unbelievably beautiful place I had found for our weekend. It was so peaceful and quiet; spacious and comfortable. When Kathy said the house was stocked, she wasn't kidding. We found everything we needed. It was amazing. We especially loved the open kitchen and den area. Though it poured on Saturday, it didn't stop us from zip lining at Adventure Park, which was close by. The house is located close to many different things - shopping, movies, restaurants; but we loved the house so much that we decided we wanted to just enjoy it. There was plenty of room. Everything was clearly labeled. The package Kathy sent was so informative that I didn't have any additional questions to ask her. The sunrise Sunday was beautiful. It stopped raining and we were able to sit on the dock for hours watching the swans and fishermen and just relaxing...which was exactly what everyone needed. I would most definitely recommend this home to anyone who wants the best of both worlds.....getting out and doing new things or lounging around relaxing and taking in the beautiful home and location. Kathy, thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We would definitely do this again.

Wonderful home right on the pond!
The "Treehouse" was exactly was described and better. All amenities were available and we truly enjoyed our stay there. We were able to take advantage of the pond and did some fishing right off the dock. Great memories for the kids and for us too! The beds were comfortable, plenty of everything we need and great instructions (loved the labels!) We would recommend to anyone1

A Memorial Day Weekend Treasure
My family wanted to celebrate my Mom's 90th birthday, my brothers 60th birthday and my sisters 10th anniversary. We could not have found a better place for family time together. The view is incredible. The dock down by the water was perfect for bird, fish and turtle watching and quiet conversations away from the crowd. We expected the water to be FREEZING but it wasn't. The people next door were having a great time with the kayaks and paddle boats they rented. We're definitely doing that if were lucky to come again.
The kitchen is open and large and well stocked with any gadget you could want. Lively conversations as the cooks created, and everybody could help. The picnic table outside on the deck was perfect, and the adirondack chairs were welcoming.
There was a fantastic 3 ring binder book in the kitchen with any and all the information about the area and where to get what - including how to avoid traffic jams on the way home.
The beds are comfortable and the views from upstairs are spectacular.
The fusball table downstairs was perfect for impromptu competitions between all the ages when the weather turned icky, and there is a great assortment of DVDs.
The only caution I would mention is there are a lot of stairs down to the water, stairs to any bedroom, and a step up to the kitchen that slowed my 90 year old Mom's mobility. That's it though, the rest is great.
Though this was a special celebration for these milestone events we're hoping to make it an annual visit since we had such a great time.

The golfers
Had a great weekend staying at the Treehouse with my golf buddies and my wife. Can't think of a better time of year to be there. The sunrise is incredible and morning Joe sitting on the deck doesn't get any better. The house is well stocked and supplied with any and all amenities needed to effortlessly enjoy a stay. Instructions are very clear and easy to follow and Kathy was extremely professional but delightful to interact with while setting up our stay. Thumbs up.

Another great golf weekend!
My friends and I have spent an April weekend at the treehouse for a number of years now and enjoy every one. We play golf, relax on the deck, and utilize the great kitchen and grill for some good meals. The space works well and is conveniently located near many courses. We'll be back next year, thanks Kathy! tim

Wonderful location, great property.
What a great rental property and central location for our annual golf matches. Each year a few longtime friends and I get together for a long weekend of golf. This was a gem and very central to some great golf venues. Despite some weather on the front end of our stay we managed to get our rounds in. The house was clean, well appointed. A wonderful property and nicely located near great courses.

Family Reunion of Sorts
We were looking forward to the Tree House after a hectic week ending with a college graduation and we were not disappointed. The setting is just perfect! The deck is really huge being able to accommodate all 10 us even if we wanted our own little corner! And the view was to die for - even on the rainy day :) Dinner outside was delightful, the kitchen had everything we needed and was well stocked. The setup was great. We especially loved the kitchen/dining/family room space. Lots of room for small groups to gather. The house was very centrally located for sightseeing. We all loved the dock. We rented a paddleboard and double kayak and it was great fun!. We spent many nights down on dock or the deck. It was especially peaceful in the early morning to see the sun rise over the pond. We are looking forward to renting here again!

Excellent Place To Stay!
We had an amazing time at the Tree House for our dad's 70th birthday. The house is set up beautifully for guests, as the owners have put meticulous care into readying every aspect of it for visitors. We have young children, and they loved the foosball table and the games, puzzles, and books geared toward kids. The setting is beautiful, and you just can't beat the deck. We found the house to be very welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. We wholeheartedly recommend the Tree House to anyone visiting the Cape!
