About this house rental

This quaint house is located in the Historic town of Mayville, New York. The town of Mayville has many great features including Lakeside Park which has a basketball court, two tennis courts and a playground for younger children. Chautauqua Lake is a short stroll down Pratt Street and the front porch has a wonderful lake view. The front porch has seating for 4 and is a great spot for morning coffee. A rails to trails bike trail is accessible at the end of Pratt St. The home has many great features including central air conditioning, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. On the first floor is bedroom #1 which has a queen bed. This bedroom is located directly across from a full bathroom. Up the stairs are the remaining 3 bedrooms. Bedroom #2 has three twin beds. Bedroom #3 has a king bed. Bedroom #4 has a double bed. Outside bedroom #4 is an open area with two twin beds and a twin mattress under one of those beds. Bathroom #2 is off of this open space. The open space has a smart TV. All other bedrooms also have TV's in them. Downstairs is the entry room, a kitchen, a family room, and a dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless appliances, granite, garbage disposal, dishwasher, trash compactor and an island with four stools. The dining room has a large farm table which could seat 8-10 people. The family room has an HDTV and has two couches and a recliner. The rear deck has a gas grill and furniture to seat 6-8 people. The house has been completely remodeled over the last 2 years and both bathrooms are new. The downstairs bathroom has a claw foot soaking tub, a standup shower, and a pedestal sink. The upstairs bathroom has a stand up shower. If you are interested in a lake experience with many amenities within 15-30 minutes then this property is perfect for you. Peek n Peak Resort is 20 minutes away with Skiing, Golf, Spa etc.... Southern Tier Brewing Company is 25 minutes away. There are several wineries and a wine trail along route 5 near Lake Erie which is only 10 minutes away. The nightly rental rate is for 6 guests and there is an extra guest fee for groups larger than six.

New in 2023 - There is a detached garage with an apartment above it that may or may not be occupied by the owners when the house is rented.

Lovely house in a quiet, pretty neighborhood just a short walk to the lake. This is a great old house that has been updated but hasn't lost its charm. Our host was very helpful and attentive. We had several family members staying after a family reunion and had a delightful time. Everyone loved the house and location.

We had a wonderful time at the Chautauqua Family Escape. The owners gave such attention to what a large family would need. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked, as well. We enjoyed the deck in the morning as well as in the evening. The backyard was great for family soccer and football as well as mountain pies and s'mores over the great fire pit! We loved being able to walk down to the lake as well as for ice cream at Boxcar Barney's! We will definitely choose this place again!

Great place in a lovely neighborhood. Quick access to walking trail and pickleball courts. The house is a little further back from lake than I thought and the front door is quite tricky to unlock. Knowing that...i would most certainly stay here again. The house was perfect for our family. Thank you.

This house was better than the listing lets on. It's very spacious with lots of rooms and places to sleep. (Very clean!) The walk to the lake was doable, even for my 2 year old. Lots of breweries and wineries in the area. Owners were great to work with and very welcoming. If you're looking at this listing... book it!

We chose this house because it was near trails that we wanted to hike as part of the WNY hiking challenge and it could accommodate all 6 of us. Four had their own rooms and two of us "sisters" shared a room that had three single beds. The kitchen was well supplied though we brought most of what we needed and dined out the first night.

We love this place and its access to the marina, proximity to the biggest ice cream cones, and its overall functionality. We've stayed twice and would come back again. This time we unfortunately had a funeral and were able to gather with family afterwards here. It is small but mighty and met all our needs.

We were very happy with our stay at this home in Mayville. Clean, spacious rooms that are beautifully decorated. Beds were very comfortable. Loved making breakfast in the well equipped kitchen, with updated appliances and large island, nice for gathering as well as sitting by the fire pit in the evenings. Waffel iron was a fun bonus! Great location with having the lake, playground and childrens beach within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Love the location, so close to marina, made so convenient to be on the lake whenever, great area for biking, walking, lake view Restaurant and Barney’s ice cream within walking distance. Great front and back porch for relaxing! Would love to stay again, only 2 hr drive!!!

We had plenty of room for all of our family from 20 months to 81. Our desire was to have a great time with our family and the house provided a great opportunity for doing this, whether it was a nap for the young and the old or running around the back yard or the playground nearby for those with more energy.

Our annual girls weekend (4 of us between 52-65) was a great getaway, just overcast and rainy. We enjoyed the local wineries and towns of Mayville and Bemus Point. The house is relaxing and peaceful.

This is our fifth stay at this property in six years (missed 2020…you know why), and every stay has been fantastic! The house is always clean and spacious. New updates each year keep making the experience even better (this year new steps to the porch, new rockers on the back deck, and new shower head). Communication with the property owner and check-in process is easy. The location is perfect….less than a half mile to the lake front park (location of the Big/Little Fish Triathlon and playground for the kids) and close proximity to Boxcar Barney’s Ice Cream stand (walking distance), Big Inlet Brewing (very short drive), and many other shops and restaurants. Looking forward to next year already!

Very well cared for home. Very well equipped kitchen -great to cook in.- My daughter liked all the conveniently placed storage hooks to keep track of all our stuff. Pretty outdoor deck off the kitchen offering a view of Lake Chautauqua. Close to the Chautauqua Institute and very close to the Chautauqua Belle.

The property is in a great location. There is a lot to do within walking distance. The house is very clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of room for our family to spread out and have their own space, as well as room to hang out together. I definitely recommend staying here, but there are two things to consider bringing with you: soap for the shower and your own bath towels (towels were very hard, not soft)

My sisters and our families decided to take a vacation. The house was wonderful. The dining table was perfect for game nights. We could walk to the lake. I loved drinking my coffee on the front porch and looking at the lake. We would highly recommend. We had a wonderful vacation and loved the house!!!!

The owner was wonderful in making sure we had access to him. I liked his welcome book which gave detailed instructions for operating all appliances. It was a beautiful setting, a short walk from the lake. We definitely enjoyed all of the room that was in the house. There was plenty of room for eating and for playing board games.

We really liked our stay at this VRBO. We enjoyed the location in Mayville—it was peaceful and quiet, but close to Amenities. The house had everything needed and Duke communicated ways to accommodate anything the house lacked. Best example of this is that while the house does have central air, it doesn’t reach the top floor as well, so there are several AC units and fans, and by the second day of our stay, everything was comfortable. The only thing I would caution anyone else for is that the second floor does have very slanted ceilings, and especially tall people might find this bothersome. But in general, the house was fantastic and Duke was a helpful and nice host.

This rental home is perfect in every way! The location, the cleanliness, the communication with the owner, the property…..everything is great! This is our fourth year staying here for a local triathlon and we love staying here. It is a short walk to the lake side park, ice cream stand, convenient store. A very short ride to everything else you would need.
