Exceptional

It was excellent all around. The room was spacious and clean the bed comfortable. As mentioned in many reviews the breakfast was fantastic. The hosts were very pleasant and engaging. An excellent stopover on the way to Switzerland.

Very nice and quiet place! The room was very clean and tidy! We had been driving around France for two weeks, and this place had the most briliant breakfast, you could imagine! Very friendly and helpfull couple hosted us for two nights!

Absolutely perfect, except for the bed

Chez Norbert is one of those memorable places. We were sooo happy to stumple upon this guesthouse! It is located in the less touristy, yet equally charming town of Bergheim. Within a short drive of the more crowded towns of Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr. The rooms are located in a historic half-timbered house, centred around a courdyard. Pets are also present! Our room was on the front of the house. (if traffic bothers you, ask for another room). It had hand-painted wooden ceilings, a small living room attached to the large bedroom, a very large bathroom and many historical details. The owner served us an abundant breakfast with local products and home made marmelades, for a very reasonable price. We loved it <3

Everything was perfect, except for the bed. The boxspring looked very old and felt more like a trampoline. The matrass on top, which wasn't comfy either, could not make up for that. Also, the bed was a lot smaller then the bedstead it was placed in. Therefor the nightstands stood an arms length away from the bed itself (they can't be moved). I would advise the owners to invest in new beds, and if they do, we will most definitely be back one day!

Lovely room in a convenient location along with an exceptional breakfast

A perfect location in the lovely city. The room was air conditioned which was a relief after a long hot day and the breakfast was exceptional. The cherry bread pudding was delicious and unique. The host and hostess were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay with them..

Charming hotel in a lovely Quiant village

If you are exploring the southern Alsace region, the tiny beautiful village of Bergeim and this “Gite” is the perfect solution! The hosts are lovely and welcoming and can’t do enough for you. We were offered wine, meats and fresh tomato’s on arrival. Lovely. The place itself is enchanting and quirky. Our ground floor room was very spacious with a separate bathroom and a little lounge area with doors that opened to the Main Street. The architecture of the historic hotel building combined with the courtyard and general hotel decor really added to the atmosphere The breakfasts was fabulous, it was 12 euros per person and worth every penny, several homemade jams, strawberries, as well as a large selection of cheeses and cold-cuts, smoked salmon, bacon with with eggs, croissants and breads. To top it you are sat on the hosts charming little patio. we would definitely return.

Great stay, highly recommended

I stayed here for the weekend together with a friend and my dog. The owner was very kind and welcoming and we felt at home right away. The rooms are very nice and spacious, amazing shower. And the quality of the breakfast was amazing. I will definitely come back! Also the town is lovely

The only suggestion I would make is to put shower gel/ shampoo in the room. Otherwise everything was perfect!

A wonderfull visit to Bergheim (France)

The apartment was perfect, the breakfast was delicious, such a treat. The hostes was very efficient and friendly. The location was stunning and Chez Norbert is really worth a visit. (Air conditioned bedroom)

Very good

Be careful; this is no longer a hotel but a 'chambre d'hote', i.e. no bar or restaurant. Having said that, the location is as charming as ever, the rooms warm and comfy and host Sabine will do anything in her power to make you feel at home including a glass of local wine to cool you down upon arrival. She even made reservations at a local restaurant when we discovered Norbert no linger had one.
