Other Things to Note:
There are two airports on Long Island: Deadman's Cay Airport (LGI) and Stella Maris Airport (SML). Daily scheduled service is available to the island from Nassau.
We recommend flying into Deadman's Cay as it is only 15 minutes from the property, and is usually the cheaper of the two options, there are also rental car companies at the airport to choose from.

We recommend getting to Nassau International Airport anytime before 11am so that you can catch your connecting flight to Long Island. Anytime after 11am and you will risk getting stuck in Nassau for the day/night.

We enjoyed our stay and Atil was a great host. The cottage was perfect for what we needed. Deans Blue hole is about a 10 min walk. The shower was hot, the kitchen came with everything we needed to cook for our little one and the breeze off the ocean was great. The beach out front of the house was a bit rough but we had it to ourselves the whole time. Great place to stay if you are looking for Adventure on Long Island.

Cute little cottage. It had all of the necessities we needed to cook a meal. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the ocean early in the morning and in the evenings. There's a cute little cabana on the beach with chairs and some water toys. Most of the time we had the beach to ourselves. Snorkeling was one of our favorite things to do here in Turtle Cove. Atil and Sarah were very friendly and always very helpful.

Wonderful service and communication
The rental experience was amazing, Atil was most helpful in everyway even going to extremes making arrangements to volunteer locally for me while my husband fished. Unfortunately we never made it to the beautiful rental that Atil has. A flight mishap, and no apparent accomodations to be found on Nassau for the evening compelled us to fly back to Ft Lauderdale, and finish our trip there. Everyone involved, Atil, Karen at Hanna's Bling Bling car rentals, To the sweet lady at the dog rescue group I was to help out were gracious and extended the whole adventure to take place next year if we can manage it. So in short,. amazing people on Long Island Cay that feel like family thanks to VRBO. Looking forward to meeting you all and definitely having bush tea at Desiree's. We will definitely use in future. Thx again Atil!!

Best Spot on the Island
This was our first HomeAway stay, and we picked this spot because of the proximity to Dean’s Blue Hole, and we weren’t disappointed. As vegans, we brought a duffle of food to prepare for our stay, and having a full kitchen was great for cooking, baking, and making smoothies. The cottage is in an ideal spot, as our favorite beach on the entire island was the one by Dean’s Blue Hole. It was a quiet and peaceful cottage, with stunning views. The cottage looked exactly like the pictures, and we had a terrific and relaxing time at the cottage and this part of the island. Atil and Sarah were tremendously attentive, regularly checking-in to make sure things were going well, and we had no problems whatsoever. Atil also arranged for a 4WD rental, that came in handy when we went to the Columbus monument. The cottage is well equipped for nice evenings with Internet and cable, and the cottage had helpful print-ups about where the best beaches, restaurants, grocery shops, etc. are for when venturing-out, and we were grateful that we were lucky to stay here. Thanks so much Atil!

The cottage is as described, clean, comfortable, and kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed many mornings, afternoons, and nights sitting on the balcony either watching the ocean or the brilliant stars against the night sky. We marveled at the many shades of blue in the water. We did not have a lot of neighbors staying nearby since we were there at low season so it was peaceful and quiet. Early morning, we took walks from the cottage via the beach in front of the cottage to the blue hole and nearby beaches. At sunset, we watched the rays and turtles coming in to feed. Long Island is safe and we had many good interactions with residences. From the cottage, grocery stores are 5 minutes drive going north...passing Hamilton cave. Clarence town about 5 minutes going south....We enjoyed our stay.

New cottage on a castaway island
If this island is your speed, then this is a great rental. New construction around 2016. We didn't need the heat or A/C the whole time we were there. Just open windows all day; there was usually a good breeze off the water since you're facing east and up a bit of a hillside. I thought it was a great location - great beaches to explore within 45 minutes north or south. No pets allowed - this was a bonus for us. All the standard out-island disclaimers apply -- there are only a few restaurants, the power goes out sometimes, most things are closed on Sunday, most places only take cash, don't drink the tap water, etc. The roads were not as bad as on Eleuthera, but slow still matters. You'll definitely need a rental car with ground clearance. Due to an airline issue, we ended up staying one extra day (without our luggage, long story) - Atil was very helpful and generous with that situation. Melvin and Desiree take care of the property when Atil is gone -- they were both great with airport trips and questions. If you take Southern Air, the people are great and helpful, but not exactly detail-oriented. I suggest you watch your bags get on/off your flight. Restaurants: go to Tiny's (a bit of a drive for sure) and Max's. To me this is a much better place to stay than resorts - and it's a heck of a lot less expensive too. Highly recommended.

Awesome Cottage at Dean's Blue Hole
Having never been to Long Island before, we looked at properties closely and decided on this cottage because it was within walking distance to Dean's Blue Hole and on Turtle Cove. We wanted to snorkel. After checking out other places, the beach in front of the house was the best we found on the entire island. The coral reef there is beautiful with all sorts of fish. Because of rough weather, we couldn't go out beyond the barriers but we were so happy in the cove sighting all sorts of beautiful and bountiful fish.
We also could watch sunrises and sunsets from the balcony and also from the bedroom. The view is extraordinary. Also, the cottage was efficient with everything we needed. We found the location to be perfect, in the center of the island, close to Clarence Town and the Flying Fish Marina, Deadman's Cay with Max's Conch Bar, and Lloyd's, the local gathering spot. Melvin, Atil's assistant, met us and showed us around, answering all our questions. If we had any questions, we could call him or eve better, meet him at Lloyd's. Atil communicated regularly, checking to make sure all was good. And all was much, much better than good!!
