About this cottage rental
Welcome to our charming cottage right across the street from the beach! This beautiful home offers 3 bedrooms and 1 full bath. Downstairs bedrooms include a queen and full bed. There is a very narrow spiral staircase leading to the second floor where there are 4 twin beds and a gaming area for your children to enjoy. We provide all linens and 8 beach towels and 8 bath towels.
We are pet friendly for a pet fee of $100. Please confirm when booking so that we can approve your pet. There is a park in walking distance for your children and pets as well as the beach directly across the street. Our front yard is fenced in but it does not have a gate on it. We do get beach burs in the grassy areas sometimes during the year. We try and eliminate them but they are common at the beach.
You will feel right at home in our kitchen and bathroom with all appliances including dishwasher, coffee maker, pots/pans and dishware.
We have on-site parking for up to 5 vehicles, and a tranquil shaded back yard complete with a grill and picnic table all across the street from the beautiful Chesapeake Bay and beach.
Whether you enjoy crabbing, fishing, skim boarding, swimming in the Spring and Summer or walking through the historic district of downtown Norfolk in the Fall and coming back and cuddling up by the fire place, it's all here year round. What a wonderful place to just relax, shop or to find great adventure.
Here you will experience the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets with miles of safe beaches to stroll and play. You are certain to enjoy yourself in East Ocean View. Bring plenty of suntan lotion, and be sure to bring your boat, if you have one. Our local boat ramp and marina are just blocks away. Come and make memories that will last a lifetime! We look forward to seeing you
Whether you start your morning with your toes in the sand watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee or fishing off the beach, it is the perfect way to start the day.

- Washer & Dryer
- As a courtesy to our guests, we provide 1 Roll of paper towels, 1 roll of toilet paper, 1 trash bag, small bottle of dawn and 1 dishwasher tab. These will help you get started when you first arrive but you will need to bring additional supplies depending on the time you are renting including laundry detergent and toiletries.
- Fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel pots and pans, dish ware, glasses, and silverware to accommodate 8 guests
- Central heating and cooling system
-The hardwood flooring downstairs is original from the 50's. We had them sealed in 2022 but even after cleaning sand gets into the crevices. We do our best to clean the floor but it tends to still have sand from all the beach traffic on it even after cleaning. We mention this to be completely transparent so that if this would bother you then another beach home without original hardwood floors would be better for you. We don't want anyone unhappy and want to make sure we identify and communicate everything both positive and negative about our cottage.
-If you want a completely bug free experience for your vacation then a beach house is probably not the place to vacation. We employ a pest control company that comes several times per quarter and sprays outside and inside of home. Unfortunately bugs still get into our cottage and no matter how many times we have it sprayed some still come in between the treatments. We hate all bugs but cannot guarantee a bug free stay living at the beach. We would rather you choose a location that will guarantee no pests than to come to our cottage and be unhappy because of finding any types of pests as we can't treat any more frequently than we already do. Most of the time we don't have any but still on occasion they come back. We do not offer refunds because of pests.
During the winter months from December to March we do offer long term rentals. If you are interested to rent during any times in these months please contract us at 757-639-4855 on rates.

5 friends stayed for a weekend bachelor party. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating.

We travelled from Montreal, Canada for a week long stay at the beach with our two kids (4yo and 8mo). We arrived a couple of hours before the check-in time and Gina kindly told us that the house was ready and we could check in early. It was welcomed after a 15h drive with

We had a great stay at this house. We were close to the beach. The kids loved the upstairs space, plenty of beds and space.

Close to beach. Lots of room. Hated bed toppers.
Nice appliances. I was very pleased

Exactly what we needed and as advertised.
Clean and very close to the beach.

We had an amazing family vacation at this location. The owners were quick to respond to any question I had regarding the house or events that were happening around Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Highly recommend. Very clean.

We had a great time at the cottage! We stayed for 1 week and all of the basics that we needed were provided. It is located in a beautiful area, less than 5 minutes walk to the beach and fit my entire family comfortably. We will definitely be booking again for next summer.

The cockroach problem could easily be dealt with by using a professional exterminator instead of the dollar general roach motel behind the toilet. 3/4 of the upstairs bed mattresses are so thin that you can feel the frame or springs or something through them. The main bedroom box spring kept falling off of the undersized bed frame and had to be repeatedly balanced precariously within a quarter of an inch on it. There’s a garden hose by the back door near the sign that tells you to wash your feet. Don’t try that one because it doesn’t work. Dig through the pile of leaves off to the side near the picnic table to find the one with the cracked nozzle. That one will make sure rhat your whole body gets the sand sprayed off while you’re just trying to rinse your feet. The kitchen is really nice but otherwise it’s a lot like camping just with air conditioning.

Short walk to the beach, 3 minutes tops, when traffic is heavy, less on weekdays. The shower pressure was top notch, bathroom was very clean. The back could use some cleaning up and the entrance was a little off-putting, but once you open the door to the living space, it is clean. Most of the beach chairs were too rusty to use, thankfully we brought our own. We really enjoyed our 4 night stay, and it was nice that we could bring my mother and her dog. Shopping in the area was convenient because everything is nearby. We enjoyed our stay, and it was very affordable.

I have mixed feelings about our stay here. When we arrived, the house was not ready, meaning no linens on the beds, it had not been cleaned, and clearly was not ready for our arrival even though there was clear communication and confirmation of our arrival date and time. We were not checking in early. The owners were quick to remedy the situation and while we went out to dinner, the house was cleaned and prepared. The next morning, the owners refunded the cleaning fee, so I was glad that they wanted to try to make the situation better.
The inside of the house itself was fine. I think I was expecting it to be a little nicer, but overall it was fine and comfortable. We had to buy lightbulbs for the kitchen light. There were also no hand towels anywhere - none for the kitchen nor bathroom, but paper towels were at least provided. Remember to bring TP as they only supply one roll. We did see two large cockroaches inside, that we promptly killed. Perhaps cockroaches are normal for indoors in VA?
The location of the house was good as far as accessing several great seafood restaurants nearby and it was a very short walk across the street to get to the beach. The beach was glorious, clean, and felt safe, however I don't know that I would walk that road at night.
The road noise was terrible. It's a VERY busy road, and difficult to sleep with that road noise, especially in the front bedroom. I was very disappointed about the noise.
Overall, everything worked out.

The house was cozy and a very welcoming respite after seventeen hours on the road. Communication with management was pleasant and easy. Most of the events and activities that we attended were relatively close by. It was just the two of us, but there was plenty of room for a family with kids.

The property overall was clean. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and a knot of hair in the bedsheets. The kitchen has been updated and there is a good size living room. The bathroom is tiny!!! We found the beds to be uncomfortable, with and without the extra matress. The bed in the smaller.bedroom is broken and would roll around the room sometimes. Neighbor has a junkyard in their backyard. Property is very close to a beautiful beach. For a budget price it is worth it.

two downstairs bedrooms and one upstairs made the accommodations great for us. Easy access to the beach, grocery store, and restaurants was very convenient.
Host was very helpful and responsive. Thank you!

We came for a comedy show and this was way better than getting a local hotel! It’s in the quiet part of Virginia Beach and the oceanfront is right across the street, which made it nice to walk to! We will be booking again for any future events here!!

This place was placed perfectly. Just across the street from a very nice peaceful beach access, as well as a large park for children and dogs.
There was an exceptional farmers market on Saturday that had an immense variety of local product and food trucks.
The hosts were very responsive and accommodating.
My family and I stayed (Grandma 72 years old, aunts and cousins from 6years old to 37, and my mother 52 years old.) I would stay here again.

What a lovely home. Great for the whole family. Hosts were wonderful at communication with us throughout the weekend.
Loved how close the beach was an easy to get to lots of restaurants etc.
Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of seating in the dining room and comfy living area.
I hope we can return if my daughter goes to ODU

Loved the location. The cottage had everything we needed. You are right across the street from the water. It was an easy walk to breweries and convenience stores. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean, the host was on call if needed. Getting in and out of the house was easy. We were able to watch March Madness basketball. A great stay with all of the amenities. Would definitely stay again.

The home was nice and cozy. Easy to check in, the book they leave is really convenient and useful. The room upstairs is very spacious.

While the home was clean it did have a smell and there were bugs. The neighborhood was decent. There was ONE small bathroom. Plenty of towels, not enough cleaning supplies, no trash bags, knife set wasn’t complete.
4.0 / 5.0
Location of rental was ideal. Close to beach, shopping and plenty of restaurants. Kitchen was well stocked as we made a Thanksgiving feast for 5. Plenty of towels for the 5 of us and water pressure was fantastic. We didn’t utilize the upstairs but space would be nice for additional children as beds are small. Also plenty of room up there for air mattresses if needed. The front bedroom was quite noisy with traffic passing by and no TV’s in bedrooms. The driveway is not great as it’s a bit tricky to park multiple cars but we made it work. Overall it was a nice place, the owners are amazing and were extremely flexible with our check in time. Very responsive and helpful with questions!

The hosts are lovely people and are super understanding. I stayed here two years in a row and will definitely be back a third! Awesome beach house with a great layout.
3.0 / 5.0
I thought renting a house would be a smart choice for my birthday party, but instead it ended up me being naive. There were too many cockroaches everywhere, dusty under beds, grill was dirty and so was the benches outside, and a broken window which looked unpresentable and was not aware of that before booking. But everything else was okay...I guess.

We decided to meet our daughter during fall break in Norfolk beach for a girls trip. She wanted to see her furbaby and sisters so we found this cottage who accommodated all of us.The house is on the main road which does lend itself traffic noise at night for the front bedroom hence the star rating for location. The front yard has a lot of sand burrs so don't let your children or fur babies walk on it. Had to be very careful after our first time mishap. The staircase is not for elderly or very small children due to the spiraling and the beds are at the most big enough for a small college student.
We did stay indoors one day due to torrential rain and it was comfortable. As the owner states-there are bugs (namely cockroaches and a couple of spiders) inside that did visit and there are mosquitos in the back so have to be careful leaving that door open
There is parking for 3 cars easily but would have to be really good at parking for more then that.
I would request the owner to get some wine glasses as there was only one. Had all the other amenities and the kitchen appears recently updated
The beach access was right across the street and we did enjoy our walk the day before and before the rain started. There was a farmers market the saturday AM we were there before the rain and the girls did find some fun goodies.
We do appreciate the owners prompt responses and allowing us early access and staying a little later to get everyone on their way.

Such a cute and cozy cottage close to the beach. My family and I had a wonderful, relaxing week and the beach was so peaceful and empty most of the time. The hosts were very responsive and generous. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Loved staying at this house! The location was great and the hosts were amazing and so friendly!
4.0 / 5.0
This was a short stay for us and had very convenient location to the beach. Not the best neighborhood, but is a great cheaper alternative to VA beach. The only negative about the stay was the shower had previous guest hair stuck to the walls. Other than that it was very cute with a large upstairs loft for kids, and comfortable, and most of the basics. No laundry soap or wash cloths, but those were not a big deal for our short stay. The host did provide snacks and water and a lot of information about restaurants in the area. Overall it was very cute and a great place to have kids stay near the beach.

Property was as described. Great little spot for our family trip. Very short walk to the beach, the house was perfect for cooking and playing games at the end of the day.
5.0 / 5.0
We loved our stay - the hosts were incredibly communicative and responsive, and the location was bombbbb. The nearby beach is BEAUTIFUL and there was an easy 75 feet between families, so it kind of felt like a hidden gem. We found the biggest hermit crabs I’ve ever seen in my entire life, right there on the beach. Next year I hope to schedule my stay with my brother-in-law and his kids - I could only envision my niece and nephew and my kids having an absolute blast in the loft. And by the way, how hecking cool is the spiral staircase!? The only reason I would hesitate to leave a glowing review is out of selfishness, and hoping to return unimpeded next year when I can afford to schedule it!
5.0 / 5.0
Short walk to a nice quiet beach! Kitchen was more than comfortably equipped with all the necessities. House was clean and comfortable. Plenty of beach towels and beach toys/necessities. Hose located right outside the door to spray sand off after a day at the beach. Communication with Ricky and Gina was excellent!!! Only minor complaint we had, which is not the fault of the homeowners, is the noise from loud cars/motorcycles/people passing by was much later and louder than we are used to. Overall we enjoyed our stay and being so close to the beach!! Thank you Ricky and Gina!
