About this cottage rental

Facing the Montmajour Abbey, our guests are welcomed in our 18th century property surrounded by vines, olive trees and crops such as sunflowers or wheat.
In a former stable, we built this comfortable air-conditioned rural gîte which cleanliness, comfort and aestheticism is very important to us and for the well-being of our guests.
A pool, a football pitch, a Pétanque set, a swing and a barbecue are provided for you in the farmhouse.
For your safety, the entrance of the farmhouse is secured with an automatic gate with code and as for the pool, it is fenced and covered.
Thanks to our hospitality experience, we are attentive to our customers in order to facilitate the discovery of our region, inform them about the festivals and local events and guide them towards to shops and restaurants that make us proud.

Clean and neatly maintained homestead. High-quality furnishing. Pool length of c. 13m and countercurrent invites even for serious swimming. Host and her family are friendly and always helpful. Communication in English language no problem. Merci Silvie!

Strategisch sehr gute Lage zu Erkundung der südlichen Provence u. der Camarque. Wohnung prima, leider sehr sparsame Ausstattung mit Kochutensilien, Kochlöffel, Küchenmesser, etc. Einführung durch Gastgeberin freundlich, aber äußerst knapp.

Mooi schoon huis, vriendelijke eigenaar, zwembad, rustig maar dichtbij Arles, Avignon, Camargue. Ook in de buurt wat te zien. Fietsen en wandelen. Supermarkt en winkels op 10 minuten rijden.

Die Domain de la Foret ist ein Gruppe von schönen alten Häusern in einer parkähnlichen Anlage. Unsere Ferienwohnung hat uns ganz hervorragend gefallen, absolut sauber, modern ausgestattet und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Sylvie ist zudem eine großartige Gastgeberin, die uns jederzeit geholfen hat, sei es, dass eine Tasse fehlte oder wir Tipps zum Essengehen brauchten. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

A charming gite in a quiet location with a welcoming and helpful owner. It is ideally placed close to the village shopping, bars restaurants etc. Within easy reach of the attractions of Arles and the Camargue which are delightful to explore, plenty to do and see, highly recommended.

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit bei Sylvie . Das Ferienhaus hat alles, was der Urlauber benötigt. Die Anlage mit Pool ist schön gestaltet und die Familie jederzeit ansprechbar. Lieben Dank auch an Sylvies Maman, die uns auch sehr herzlich betreut hat. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

Wir waren als 4-köpfige Familie für 2 Wochen dort. Es war für uns die beste Kombination aus Erholung und Land und Leute kennenlernen. Die Sauberkeit der Anlage spricht für sich und Sylvie ist als Vermieterin eine Perle: Immer ansprechbar,kompetent und hilfsbereit. Wir möchten auch nochmal "danke" sagen für das frische Obst.

Uitstekend verblijf!

Wij hebben een zeer fijne tijd gehad in Fontvieille. Een fantastische gite. Compleet en praktisch ingericht. Het vrije uitzicht over de rijstvelden met de vele vogels en de ongekende stilte is zeker een van de sterke punten van deze locatie. De bereikbaarheid van de Camarque, Romeins Culturele Monumenten en wandelingen vergen niet meer dan ca. 20 minuten met de auto. De gastvrouw geeft je het gevoel dat je ook daadwerkelijk gast bent en spreekt zeer goed Engels. En dat in Frankrijk! Kortom een aanraader! Kees Renes en Rina Huisman

A nice place to be

This is a really nice place to be if you... - like a comfortable and quiet house, - want short distances to sights. Minor problems are that... - there are only French TV channels, - WLAN is sufficient for emails and internet search but a bit weak if you want to stream . Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable dans ce gite. Il est très fonctionnel, propre, dans un très bel entourage, loin de l'animation des villes mais en même temps très proche des différents endroits touristique à visiter. Juste parfait! A recommander fortement!

Op onze zoektocht naar een vakantie-accommodatie in de Provence zagen we op de website van HomeAway de uitnodigende locatie "Le Domaine de Laforest" in de landelijke omgeving van Fontvieille, gelegen tussen Arles en Saint Remy de Provence. Na een vlot en vriendelijk emailverkeer met de eigenaresse Sylvie Berard was de boeking snel geregeld. Bij aankomst werden we door Sylvie erg gastvrij ontvangen en zij verstrekte ons goede informatie over o.a. de omgeving. We vonden het erg leuk dat de moeder van Sylvie ons ook kwam begroeten en ons met een potje zelf gemaakte jam (erg smakelijk) verblijdde. Ons vakantieverblijf gite 'L'Olivier' kwam overeen met de beschrijving en de foto's op de website en beloofde veel goeds: een terras, gezellige woonkamer, goed uitgeruste keuken, ruime slaapkamer met goede bedden, een keurige badkamer en een separaat toilet. Ons verblijf in deze gite werd veraangenaamd door de rustige landelijke ligging met mooie vergezichten, prachtige wolkenluchten, geritsel van bladeren, fluiten van vogels en gekwaak van kikkers. Tijdens ons verblijf was een goed contact met Sylvie steeds mogelijk. Le Domaine de Laforest is een prima uitvalsbasis om de omgeving te verkennen. In de directe nabijheid zijn historische bezienswaardigheden en er zijn wandelroutes uitgezet. Een bezoek aan Arles is uiteraard een must. Vanuit Fontvieille zijn natuurgebiede als Les Alpilles en Montagne du Lubéron met hun prachtige stadjes de moeite waard om te verkennen.

A Good Base for Exploring

We stayed at Le Domaine de Laforest for a week in late September 2014 in one of the remodeled farm buildings. The building is split into four or five self contained gites. The ground floor contains an open area with kitchenette, living and dining areas and the upstairs consists of two bedrooms , a separate WC, and a shower / laundry room. There is also a terrace overlooking the gardens. The gite is spacious and well furnished with modern appliances including satellite TV and Wi-Fi. The accommodation is clean and well looked after and the proprietors are helpful and provide local knowledge and tourist information. The location is about one mile from the village of Fontvieille which is walkable by road or cross country. The village has all the facilities needed for self catering - grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants etc and a tourist office. This is a good base for exploring the surrounding towns and countryside by car. It is easy to get to Pont-du-Gard, Avignon, Arles, Nimes, Saint Maries-de-la-Mer, St Remy-de-Provence, Les Baux etc. The local area includes the Roman Aqueduct and the Windmills made popular by Alphonse Daudet. Visitors should note the following additional costs - sheets and towels, cleaning, tourist tax and a charge for electricity. This added about 25% to our quoted cost. For non-local visitors - the gite was missing many of the basic items that we have found in similar accommodation elsewhere. There was no salt and pepper, paper towels, garbage bags, laundry soap, coffee filters resulting in special trips to the store. We have suggested that the proprietor offer a "basics bag" for a few Euros to those travelling from overseas. In summary, this is excellent accommodation in an interesting area and to be recommended.

Notre séjour au Domaine de Laforest nous a ravi. Le gite que nous avons occupé est charmant et son confort est propice a la détente. Le cadre est par ailleurs harmonieux, entre terrasse ombragée, chants des cigales, oliveraies et vestiges romains antiques. L'accueil est enfin tout autant chaleureux qu'attentif. una adresse à recommander absolument.

UN BEAU PETIT COIN DE PROVENCE Nous avons passé un agréable séjour au Domaine de la Forest. Havre de paix très bien situé pour visiter les alentours : Arles, Les Baux de Provence, Avignon, Saint Rémy de Provence, Les Saintes Maries de la Mer ... Fontvieille est un village très typique avec en plus le Moulin de Daudet et de nombreux circuits de promenades. Le gîte est très confortable ( excellente literie, équipement de qualité...) sans vis à vis, au calme, les propriétaires sont accueillants, sympathiques et discrets.

joli gite, bien agencé, fonctionnel et une belle terrasse, vue sur la campagne - pas de maison en vis à vis, j'ai apprécié. Promenades au départ de la maison, pas besoin de prendre la voiture ; un coin préservé, proche de Fontvieille, Arles, les Baux de Provence et la mer. les propriétaires sont accueillants et discrets. je trouve ce séjour au printemps, extra : nature fleurie, encore beaucoup de verdure et circulation facile.

Endroit paisible avec de magnifiques paysages. Le gîte était très spacieux, très propre et bien équipé. Une piscine agréable et bien située. Très bon accueil des propriétaires qui se montraient discrets afin de laisser la tranquilité aux locataires. Le gîte était à proximité du centre ville et des marchés provençaux.
