Disappointing quality

It is in a good location, easy walking distance. The apartment itself has potential if it wasn't for all the maintainence issues, its a cool layout. Being on the ground floor is also good for luggage.

Overall, I don't think this apartment deserves its current 8 star rating. The pictures in the ad are likely very old and outdated and don't reflect the current state. It feels like it's falling apart, and if something is fixed it's done in the cheapest possible way to get it back available for the next visitor's stay. There was nothing absolutely terrible about it, but it's just that there are so many little issues that all add up to make it hard to see the positives of the apartment, which to be frank, is it's location and size (it is quite spacious which is nice). So if you're looking for accommodation, if this is substantially cheaper than anything else, it'll do the job just be prepared to lower all of your expectations, but if you can get hotels or other apartments for a little bit more, I think that it would be worth spending a bit more to avoid this apartment. Looking through previous reviews also makes me think the owners have known about these issues for a long time and chosen not to address them, which is disappointing because the place has so much potential. Some of the issues: - Strong sewerage odour comes up from the shower, the sink and the toilet. The odour is sometimes stronger than other times, but, for example, the sink is right next to the bed so trying to get to sleep with the stench of sewerage is pretty unpleasant. - The front door lock is broken, the handle sags and needs to be jimmied in the exact right way to get in or out. This is annoying at the best of times, and would be dangerous if you had to make a fast exit in the case of fire etc. - The lighting is terrible, should be a simple fix to at least put some bright bulbs. It feels very gloomy in the apartment. Unfortunately this apartment has no natural light either (no fault of their own), so it's very gloomy at all times of the day. - The toilet has no toilet paper holder - should be an easy fix.

L’appartement était très propre et calme. La literie est très confortable. L’emplacement est idéal pour visiter le vieux Lyon.

L’appartement est situé au rez de chaussée, donc un peu sombre.

la comodidad y la ubicación eran perfectas, todo a la mano, todo limpio ,ordenado y fácil de manejar

todo me gusto, solo los techos del 2do piso eran algo bajos para mi, pero eso es secundario

Recomendable

La ubicación, la limpieza y la fácil comunicación con los anfitriones. Tener la opción de poder cocinar algo fue estupendo para economizar gastos.

Nada grave. Simplemente que había poca luz en el apartamento y los techos de la parte de arriba eran un poco bajos para nosotros.

War gut, und in den Wintermonaten ok, da sowieso dunkel am morgen und früh am Abend

Gut eingerichtete Wohnung mit Schlafraum auf der Galerie. Umgebung mit sehr interessanten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe.

Fenster zum Innenhof, praktisch kein Tageslicht. Kein warmes Wasser in der Küche, Toilette scheint etwas improvisiert.,

Nice and cozy little apartment, with a little investment it would be excellent.

Nice little quiet, cozy place to stay, local to most places that you'd want to visit in Lyon.

The frequent smell of sewage emanating from the shower or upstairs sink, I imagine that this is due to the layout of the pipework in the old building. It might be resolved by installing an anti vac valve on the pipe to the sink. The sofa is fine for a short while, but great for watching a film on rest days. Could do with a modern TV that you can cast netflix to. Not the cleanest apartment.

Excellent location, contactable host but in need of a revamp

Great location. There was no air con, but the apartment came with a fan and was cool (even if it was 38° outside). Equipped kitchen, lots of plug sockets, decent wifi and rather spacious. Beds were fine, but after 3 nights became slightly uncomfortable. clear instructions on how to get into the apartment and contactable host via the messaging service on Booking.com

The place was clean, however it seemed like the appliances and things in the apartment were either second hand or overused. E.g. inside the coffee machine was covered in old, used coffee, the fork and knives were coming apart, the fan worked but was wobbly, quite loud and did not rotate, etc. Although there was a sign about the shower unit, the boards outside were mouldy and bent due to water escaping from the shower - it needs to be replaced and fixed. The boiler had recently been replaced so there was a huge hole in the wall, again with a sign.

Good

It is an ideal location for visiting Lyon. Near the building you have all the shops you need for getting : croissant, fresh fruits, fresh fish, fresh meat, etc. It is located like 2 minutes from Bellecour square, 10 minutes to Perrache Railway station, 7 minutes to the old town, what can I say : you are in the middle of the action.

Although the flat is located very well, it has few downsizes like : no natural light inside results mold odor. The only window was not closing well. Noise at night as it is at the ground floor at the main gate. It is equipped with all necessary thinks, although little old.

Pleasant stay and well located! Great to have a fan during the heat wave!

The host was very responsive, so helpful and accommodating! The location was great and the check in very clear and simple. The host kept checking in on us and made us feel cared for.

The floors were dirty, and so we walked around in socks.

Studio apartment very close in the city center

The apt is a studio at the ground level. It’s very central and has all the things you need. I never met the host but it was very nice and responsive through booking messages.

The apt is very dark considering daylight doesn’t get in. Also it is very noisy as it is very close to the main building entrance.

Run away: smells bad due to mold - badly maintained

The whole place only has one interior window and therefore is very dark. The pics are probably old as it’s clear the owners don’t invest in maintenance. The walls were dirty, there were spider webs in certain places, the mattress was dirty and most importantly, there was a leak of water in the bathroom that made the place smell the water infiltration/mold. And they had the nerve of putting a sign saying we should close the curtain when showering. Seriously? Why don’t you fix and maintain the place properly?!?!? If it was a hotel, I’d definitely have asked for another room… see pics

Very good

Great location. The interior is really nice and got everything you need. The shower is amazing and the bed is big. Easy to access from the city center and a real nice sphere.

It’s a bit dark with only one window.

Excellent location , clean , warm and quiet. Easy access and everything you needs is only minutes away. We will book again the next time we visit Lyon.

Great location for the sights, shop opposite, comfortable stay.

Power tripped out a few times if too many lights on. Apartment was quite dark. Didn't feel safe leaving the large window open.
