About this cottage rental
The cottage "legrandpressoir" is ideally located 3 km from Honfleur, close to Deauville, Trouville and beaches.
The cottage is located in the heart of a property of 4 hectares, largely composed of a hilly meadow occupied by our two horses. Kids love usually meet them with some apples or carrots for s' to make friends. The house is located away from nearby small roads, after a tarred road without end, and entent no traffic noise, allowing to enjoy the sounds of nature. It is likely that you will be woken in the morning by birdsong. The main advantage of our cottage is the quality of the immediate environment, with the view of a valley planted with apple trees.
The cottage has been converted into an old typical Normandy wine press, built in half-timbering and flint. It includes at the ground floor a large room with an open kitchen to the living room. A ground floor always, a room of 18m2 making 4th extra bedroom with a click / clack, day and overlooks a small orchard and meadows.
Upstairs, a large bedroom (about 20 m2) has a double bed and a small bed, and also a private bathroom with toilet. My family and I just spent 6 days at olivier’s home and could not have had a better time. The home is very charming with everything you need for a good sized group. The location is ideal for daytripping throughout Normandy and the property itself is just up the road from Honfleur with its own beautiful surroundings for walks. We brought our dog which turned out to be a great decision. Many thanks Olivier!

The property is about 4 km from the centre of Honfleur, a beautiful, picturesque coastal town in Normandy. The exact location is quite secluded from main roads and not easy to find (Home Away had an incorrect address, beware, so we wasted an hour on arrival). The rooms were clean and the kitchen had all we needed to cook our meals and store our food. Outdoor we had space and a nice table to eat on warm days, and the garden was really lovely. Overall we had a nice stay and we would recommend it. The hosts were polite and reasonably helpful. Possible improvement: sheets and towels are provided at extra price but it's not explained clearly.

Just got back from a week at this adorable spot. Perfect location in countryside just outside Honfleur. Quiet, pretty and peaceful with plenty of space and character. Ideal base for exploring Normandy as we did for a full week taking in The Beaches, the beaches and the exquisite Norman countryside. House is ideal size for a family though could fit more. M. Foures was a wonderful host with a great sense of humor. He was attentive but never intrusive in making sure all was in order. Already trying to figure out when we can come back!

We were two family (4 adults and 5 kids) and found the house very spacious. It's very tastefully decorated and only a 10 minute drive to downtown Honfleur ( which is beautiful). The garden with the swing set and the horses were lovely. Our kids had a great time playing outside and even met some other kids that were also staying in a different house on the property so they really enjoyed it. The kitchen was well equipped but small bowls but would be appreciated! (Hard to feed kids cereal without bowls)
Just a few small details- it doesn't say in the listing that you need to supply your own linens and towels. We only found out when the contract was sent to us to sign. Luckily we took a ferry and from Ireland to France and so I was able to bring them but if you were flying and renting a car you would have to pay for them which upon arrival. The owner Mr. Foures was away but a lovely lady named Joelle met us and helped us settle in.
Also communication was a bit slow. Mr. Foures was in the end wonderful and very fair but it took quite a few e-mails and phone-calls before we ultimately felt comfortable that he house was all set for us.
However I would highly recommend it and would stay there again-it was lovely and peaceful and Normandy has so much to see for adults and kids alike
