About this house rental

'Island Touch' offers contemporary beachside accommodation with an open-plan design that brings the stunning views outside right into the house. There is nothing but sea air between you and the spectacular view of Encounter Bay, Wright Island and The Bluff. Laze on the huge front balcony and watch waves crashing onto Wright Island and perhaps a whale or two in the winter months. You can enjoy the same view from inside while rugged up on the leather couches. Press a button and enjoy the gas fireplace on colder days. Well equipped with all of the things you need to feel at home while on holiday, no detail has been overlooked. All you need to do is turn up and relax.

Features include a custom-built wooden dining table for 12 people, leather couches, Tasmanian oak flooring throughout, big-screen TV, 2 full bathrooms, 3 toilets, 2 showers, large rumpus room for the kids and a separate enclosed balcony for barbecuing which also has sea views. There is also a fully-appointed caesar stone kitchen that is open the main living room, so you can prepare meals and also interact with guests while you enjoy the view.

All five bedrooms have ample storage; 3 x Queens (6), 2 x bunks (4), 2 x singles (2), and an additional sofa bed (2) in the separate rumpus room or sixth bedroom means the property sleeps up to 14 guests in comfort. All linen is provided for bedding and bathrooms.

Fully enclosed paved and lawned back yard for the kids. Ample living areas for all the family, room for several family groups to stay together without feeling “on top of each other”. We can supply additional baby items you may require during your stay including high chairs and port-a-cots as well as an assortment of baby/children's toys and games to save you packing and transporting your own.

Whales can be seen locally during whale season from June to August, with some guests being lucky enough to experience this from the house itself. The property is only a short walk from the popular whale watching area of the Bluff. Walk out of the front door for a short walk/ride/scoot with the kids to get the best babychinos in town from the Yilki Store just down the beach where the grown ups can relax while the kids play in the sheltered sandpit.

It is only minutes to the newly-built boat ramp and the Bluff Jetty. From the jetty you would consider yourself unlucky if you and the kids didn't catch a squid on any day of the year. The sheltered beach, which is just meters from the house, is perfect for children. They can swim and snorkel over the reef when the tide is in, and search for crabs and other sea creatures when the tide goes out. Then come back and shower off in the outdoor hot shower before relaxing inside with some boardgames. Another favourite for kids is a trip on the horse-drawn tram to Granite Island. They can make the same trip at night on foot to look for penguins. The Steam Ranger Heritage Railway, the "Cockle Train" is also a favourite to take to nearby towns such as Pt Elliot to indulge in what we think are the best chocolate donuts and baked goods in the world. Don’t be put off by the line up, the staff are efficient and it moves quickly. In any case, it's worth the wait and you won’t be disappointed!

For the bigger kids in the family, there are several local beaches that offer big waves and great surfing. You can also fish from the jetty off Granite Island.

Our stay at the beach house was wonderfully relaxing, offering a balance of comfort and convenience by the sea. The house's location across the road from the beach was ideal, providing sweeping ocean views that added tranquility to our holiday. The interior of the house was welcoming combining comfort with a lovely coastal feel. Living areas are spacious with comfortable seating, perfect for evenings in. Large windows allowed the natural light and the view to fill the room. Bedrooms were comfortable, furnished adequately to ensure a restful sleep. The kitchen was well equipped making meal preparation a breeze. The open layout was conducive to family interaction, making cooking and dining times enjoyable. The deck at the front of the property is the ultimate viewing platform day or night, relaxing in the sun or under the stars was a highlight. Another highlight was the direct beach access, whether you're after a beach walk or something a little more heart pumping along the walking/running track by the water made it effortless to be active during our stay. Annie the host was welcoming and easy to work with, nothing was a problem for her in addition to the information guidebook in the house filled with local tips, places to see and local restaurants to try. Overall, our experience at the beach house was very positive, it struck a good balance between a relaxed beach vibe and modern comforts, making it an excellent choice for a satisfying seaside getaway.

Loved our winter weekend at this beach front house. It was so lovely being warm and cosy and watching the weather roll in over the water. Magic sea views. Plenty of space for all the kids and lovely entertaining area on the top level. A great space for a few families to stay together.

This property has a beautiful outlook. The house itself was everything we wanted our only disappointment was no wifi but they have assured us it’s coming. The only thing that might be a concern is that there is no parking, for us mid week and not summer was fine we could park over the road, Overall a great place to stay!

We had a lovely long weekend at this magnificent home to celebrate an 80th. Kids and grandkids (11-23) really enjoyed the space. Balcony was wonderful and a hop across to the water for a wintery dip. Clean and well appointed. Highly recommend.

We have stayed at this property a few times now and absolutely love the location and proximity to the beach. The layout of the house suits our family and makes for a most enjoyable stay. The only things that detracted from this was the fact that this property still has no wifi and in this day and age, this is disappointing. The other downer was that there were cobwebs everywhere in particularly in the exhaust fans making them a bit redundant. Other than these issues, we rate this property very highly.

The house is spacious and very well designed, particularly if you have teenagers who can have their own space in the lounge area down stairs. The beach is a healthy place to be. Shops located nearby and we discovered an excellent pizza bar within close proximity. The only dissapointment was that the glass doors had not been cleaned. This is esdential for being able to enjoy the seaside view from indoors. All family members enjoyed the stay. Beds were very comfortable for a gd night sleep.

Excellent location, spacious, well set up. Many maintenance and cleaning issues need attention - bathroom door lock hazardous; sink plug unusable; dishwasher filter clogged; fridge top uncleaned for a long time; toilet sprays empty; bbq very unclean, cracked plate, filthy underneath; upstairs verandah ceiling cobwebs unsightly; pooling water along side access to back yard, not OK; upon entry to property had to tiptoe around bird droppings on pavers. Cleaning regime requires re-evaluation. Fantastic property that presents as a bit uncared-for. Stayz booking and communication system very frustrating and user unfriendly.
