About this house rental
La Pierre du Soleil is a gorgeous, stone house for rent (230m2) with plenty of charm, outside dining and 4 bedrooms. Through an iron gate, there are approximately 7 steps from the street to the terrace. The main entrance to La Pierre du Soleil is accessed from the garden terrace. In brief, it takes you into a compact kitchen with the usual appliances. Such as fridge, freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, oven and cooktop. After that, you arrive in a large, open sitting-dining room with comfy sofas, a fireplace and dining table. Similarly French doors lead back to the main terrace. From this level, a half dozen stairs lead to the mezzanine level.
MEZZANINE LEVEL
Bedroom 1 – This has built-in wardrobes and a small double bed (125cm). It is best suited to one person. In addition, a charming bathroom with shower and w.c is beside the bedroom.
TOP LEVEL
Master Bedroom – This large, open plan room has a standing bath tub and shower situated behind the bed. In contrast, the w.c. is closed off. After that, there are full length sliding doors onto a terrace, which runs the entire length of the house. The bed is an extra king-size (200cm) and there is air con. A small, iron child's bed stands in the corner of the room.
Guest Bedroom – This is a king-sized double ensuite bedroom (180cm) with built in wardrobes. Of course, it has its own bathroom with w.c and shower. Similarly, this bedroom has a pretty terrace situated higher up in the rockery of the garden.
Cosy Corner – There is a cosy area with comfy seating beside both bedrooms to relax. For instance, there is a DVD player and access to Apple TV and Netflix - if you have an account.
LOWER LEVEL
Studio – Below the main entrance level lies a studio (44m2) with its own bathroom, independent w.c. and kitchenette. Equally important, there is an extra large, king-sized bed (200cm).
The house also has a washing machine and dryer located in the utility room. There are fans for the warm months. There is a garage for a small-medium sized car. This is due to size and access.
TERRACE
The terrace is conveniently accessed from the kitchen. It is sheltered by stone walls either size and there is a pretty hillside view. A key feature is it has sun all afternoon and evening. There is a large dining table, chairs and gas BBQ. In a addition, there is a parasol and sun loungers for guests who wish to sunshine.
To summarise, this stone house is rented to a maximum of 7 adults with some flexibility with children. La Pierre du Soleil is close to the village paying car park and free parking areas. Similarly, the bus stop to the town below and the Castle Square with restaurants are close by.
This charming, holiday rental is about a 10 minute walk to the town with its amenities. For instance, there is a food market, supermarkets, bakeries, chemists, banks and selection of shops. The town has a good bus service and there is a train station. Equally important, the sea is about a 30 minute walk and there is a free beach bus in July and August.
**IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE!
1. Haut de Cagnes is the medieval village of Cagnes sur Mer. It is a charming, perched village on a hill with a Castle on top. We are very lucky that we can walk to restaurants, markets, shops. We have a free, shuttle bus that runs from town to village every 15 minutes and takes 5 minutes. There is a good bus and train service from the town to most places on the Cote d'Azur. That said - if you have walking disabilities or health issues - the medieval village may not be the best choice for you.
2. Haut de Cagnes is one of the few medieval villages that allows cars to drive through it, however cars cannot access all streets and roads are naturally narrow. We do have some free street parking and a paying car parks in the village and in the town below but the summer is a busy time here so some patience is required. YOU DO NOT NEED A CAR HERE as we are within walking distance to so many things and there is a good public transport service. If you choose to bring a car - please note that parking and driving can be stressful on the Cote d'Azur in general over the summer months. You may want to consider renting a car for only part of your journey once you have settled into the village. If you choose to bring a car, I will provide you with maps and parking details. The house garage can fit a small-medium sized car.
Please note:
- There is a cleaning fee of 250 euros to pay in cash on arrival and a linen fee of 20 euros per person for those who do not wish to bring their own linens.
- There is a 20 euro fee for check-ins from 21h30-11h and for check-outs 6h-7h30.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The house is well appointed with several good sized beds and has all of the charm one would desire. Location is great if you're seeking a charning and authentic stay that is slightly removed from hustle, but also great access and bus service.

This beautiful home situated on a hill just below a castle square easily accommodated the five guests with abundant sleeping/showering space as well as a very relaxed area to gather. Amazing charm and atmosphere.

This home has so much character and the village is absolutely beautiful! Such a quaint peaceful place to stay while still having access to Nice, Antibes, Monaco, etc… Kerry-Leigh was so helpful! Highly Recommend!!

We stayed as a family group in this lovely property. We had a great time. The village has enough good restaurants to suit everyone. There is a very frequent shuttle Navette bus which runs from near the property to central Cagnes-sur-mer. CsM has all the shops you will need and a short walk to the sea and railway station for Nice, Cannes etc. our property manager Kerry-Lee was available, friendly, clear and efficient: a great help. The property was quirky in terms of layout, but full of character and with wonderful views.

My family loved staying at this beautiful home! We used this location as a base to travel up and down the coast to visit different cities and beaches. It was the perfect location to do so! We loved returning to the house and walking only a few steps to the Castle Square to have a delicious meal. The home was not only comfortable but impeccably decorated. We loved the terrace and the views from the balconies. It was a short and convenient ride into town on the local bus to the market. Kerry-Leigh was so helpful and kept us posted on local events. Thank you for the opportunity to stay at such a fantastic place! We hope to be back!

Gorgeous Views, Beautiful Home
My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely stone house and we couldn't have been more pleased. The owner's agent, Kerry-Leigh, was wonderful to work with and gave us some great tips for our stay. We were surprised by the beauty of the small village and the number of great restaurants just minutes away. This is a very comfortable house, with a well equipped kitchen and beautiful terraces. The expansive view, though, from the Master bedroom was our favorite part. We also enjoyed the free trolley that runs every 15 minutes up and down the hill from the town below to the village above. There is even a free trolley that runs from the base of the village to the beach. The daily market in the town below was a real treat and so easily accessible. All in all, this is a wonderful rental!

A lovely house in an unexpectedly beautiful village
An excellent house - clean, well-equipped, very pretty and with great terraces which are sun traps during the day and fantastic for relaxing in the evening. We squeezed 9 people in, a slight challenge as one double bedroom is windowless and (as we were not all couples) some ensuite bathroom facilities are lacking in privacy from the bedrooms they are in, but there was enough space and we made it work. Kitchen is small for cooking for so many (and cleaning up after), even with the terrace BBQ taking some of the strain, but it at least had all crucial equipment and ample plates etc. Haut de Cagnes was an even lovelier village than we expected - even if the price of this is a bit of a walk to the shops and station. Great check-in and out experience from the property manager too who was very responsive and helpful (eg changing the gas bottle on the BBQ!)

Excellent stay in charming village
When we booked the house we did not realize how nice the surrounding village was! So charming and friendly. Easy to walk down to the beach (15 min) and then you could take the free shuttle bus back up again (every 15 minutes).
The owners representative was very friendly and informative and helped us with all of our questions. Also very flexible with check in and check out times.
The house was very old but with modern utilities. Lots of areas for socializing but also spatious rooms with private bathrooms when you needed to be by yourself.
We brought a baby and the renter was kind enough to arrange with a baby crib and a baby chair. Much appreciated!
We will seriously consider coming back next year.

Carefree, luxurious, and historic villa with views
My extended family and I stayed for 8 relaxing, beautiful, and carefree nights. The decor and fabrics were quintessential French Riviera with fine linens, gorgeous impressionist paintings, beautiful tile floors, airy balconies and terraces. We felt truly comfortable and at home in their villa. Our favorite moments as a family were enjoying a cocktail (or soda for the kids) on the main terrace surrounded by candlelight, listening to the frogs, and watching the bats. The kids loved the upstairs TV room to lounge, watch movies, and enjoy some time away from the adults. The beds were fantastic and comfortable. The bathrooms are gorgeous--pinterest-worthy! The studio on the first floor gave my in-laws a retreat from the hustle upstairs. The kitchen was the perfect size for a vacation home--just enough space to create a quick meal or grab coffee.
The surrounding area was a fragrant maze of flower-lined medieval streets, a playground for children, fun cafes, and serious hill-hikes. Our calves were screaming after the first day. Our driving skills and spacial reasoning skills were tested on the narrow streets but like with all things in life we quickly grew accustomed to the street width and up-hill hikes.
Our time was spectacular and we would love to return to this lovely home.

Wonderful!
Wonderful house with high standard. It is located in the immediate vicinity of restaurants/cafés and public communication. This is a perfect property for those who want to spend their holiday in a central, yet quiet place.
It is also central to the beach, golf course and shopping.

Charming house for all season
Very nice house with lots of space, nice screened patio, short walk to several restaurants in Haut de Cagnes. There are very good bus connections to Nice and other places along the Cotes d'Azur, if you don`t want to drive.
Have stayed in the house several times, the last year both in March and June, just great in all seasons.
Would definitely recommend it!

A house for all seasons
We have stayed at this comfortable and beautifully furnished house several times. It is ideally situated with it's proximity to restaurants, the old and new town centres and yet it is very calm. I love this house during all seasons, for al fresco meals during summer and for snuggling up by the fireplace in winter.
