Siesta Key is located on Florida’s Gulf Coast, just an hour south of Tampa. Part of prestigious Sarasota County, Siesta Key is only a bridge away from the “epicenter” of Florida’s Culture, Sarasota.
Featuring 99% quartz, Siesta Key is proud of its sand. Siesta Key even won an award from the International Sand Contest in 1987 for having the best overall sand anywhere! That means that Siesta Key has the best sand in the WORLD! Even the Travel Channel agrees. In 2004, the Travel Channel’s Best Beaches in America show featured Siesta Key as the Best Sand Beach…on the planet!
Siesta Key, Crescent Beach, Siesta Beach and Turtle Beach are accessible from the North Bridge at Siesta Drive or the South Bridge at Stickney Point Road.
With limited parking, along Beach Road, expansive Crescent Beach has been rated as one of the “Top 10 Beaches in the World”. Smack-dab- in the center of Crescent Beach is… the “public beach” known as Siesta Beach where Dr. Steve Leatherman, a.k.a. “Dr. Beach” awarded it… The #1 Ranking… above all other beaches in the U.S…. including Hawaii! Even Florida Trend Magazine has named Siesta Beach “The Best Beach” in the State of Florida!
If vacationing on Siesta Key in early November, you could see some pretty unusual sand formations. Not your typical sand castles but, World-Class… sand sculptures. You’ll see the best of the best…as Sand Sculpture Artists the world over, gather on Siesta Beach to work their magic at the Siesta Key Sand Sculpture Contest.
Siesta Key beach offers tennis and volleyball courts, shaded playground and picnic area, and convenient concession stands for a quick bite or a refreshing drink. Its shallow water near the shoreline and year-round lifeguard protection make it a great beach for the whole family. You can even borrow beach wheelchairs if you have visitor that needs help across the sand.
Whether you enjoy playing tennis or volleyball, fishing or boating, or a Drum Circle on Sunday evening to mark the end of another perfect weekend on Siesta Key, there's always something to do on Siesta Beach and it is all within walking distance of the many shops and restaurants on Siesta Key Village.
Crescent Beach
Located just south of Siesta Beach and with only one public access road, you can enjoy the same azure gulf waters and picture-perfect sunsets in a quieter, more secluded setting. At the southern tip of Crescent Beach, you'll find Point of Rocks, an area rich with coral formations and colorful marine life that is perfect for snorkeling or diving. Crescent Beach is the most private, non-private beach in town.
The sand at Crescent Beach was rated as "The World's Finest, Whitest Sand™" at the Great International Sand Challenge in 1987 beating more than 30 entrants.
Turtle Beach
Located on the southern tip of Siesta Key, Turtle Beach offers a "sportier" beach experience with its picnic areas, playground, volleyball court, and horseshoe pit. Turtle Beach has a boat launch area and fishing is permitted in the adjacent Blind Pass Lagoon. This area has restaurants, shopping and a few local night spots nearby.
Turtle Beach is a narrow beach with a steeper incline and darker sand that carries more shells. This beach is perfect for beach combers and shell collectors; you might even find a petrified shark's tooth to take home, especially after a storm.
Whichever beach you choose, the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce can help you find the perfect Where To Stay, fun Events Calendar and all kinds of Things To Do while you are in town.

Stayed here 1 week, overall house fit our needs. The amenity descriptions are inaccurate as house has 2 bathrooms, not 3 as listed on the site.
We had a bug issue, host was notified and said she'd take care of it. Overall the house was good but needs some regular maintenance.
We notified the host of issues and she responded right away. The neighborhood was very quiet but some houses on the adjacent street were run down.
The pool was the best part, was warm and the perfect size.

Worst experience I have ever had
We could not get into the unit and one of the teenagers had to crawl in through a window. I received an email a few days before saying what the code to the door was and that I would get another email on the day of check in with further instructions. I never got another email and had no contact phone number. It was filthy and was not cleaned from the last group that had checked out that morning. All the beds had dirty sheets on them and there were wet dirty towels everyone. There was dirty dishes in the sink. Considering we are in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, we were absolutely horrified. Did I mention it was midnight and we had 5 teenagers with us?? We eventually found her phone number in the house and called. She said the place was supposed to be cleaned that day. But clearly she never followed up to make sure it was. She agreed to pay for us to stay in a hotel but it was Easter break and all the hotels in Sarasota were booked. We eventually found a hotel in Venice (20 minutes away) and had to stay there for the two nights that we were supposed to be in this place. The owner paid for the hotel but is giving us a hard time about refunding our money for the VRBO. Very very very unhappy with this whole situation

Unsatisfied
The area of the property was nice but many issues upon arrival. House wasn't clean and the code didn't work to get into the house. I had to communicate with the property owner multiple times and still haven't gotten our refund back.

Perfect Beach Vacation House
We loved our stay at the red door house. We did have an issue with the lock box at check in, but the owner responded almost immediately and was quick to offer help. This house fit all 8 of us perfectly without feeling crowded. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed to be in a safe residential area. The beach was only about a 12 minute drive away and it was absolutely beautiful. The pool was a nice addition although we wish it would have warmed up a little more. Would definitely recommend staying in this beautiful home, we had a wonderful time.

Nice home
This is a nice home in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our time in the home and in the lovely city of Sarasota.

Clean but very strict
The house was clean but the rule book was several pages long and very extensive. I’m a clean person but the amount of rules implemented made it feel unwelcoming to stay and felt as though they did not want anyone in their house even though it was listed.

ok but not great
My family of 6 adults and one child stayed at this house for a long weekend. The house is ok, and it served our purposes, but it's nothing special. The beds and furniture are uncomfortable, the tv didn't work (couldn't connect to the internet), and everything just generally feels like it was done "on the cheap". We did enjoy the pool, but we had to turn on the heater - which was off when we got there and never really did warm up enough to swim. I also had problems communicating with the manager - she was slow to respond to my email messages, and I ended up texting her as a means to get her to reply.

Very cozy house. And the back yard with the pool was so relaxing.
We had and amazing time. I can definitely see us renting this home again. Everything was accommodating. My only advice would be to add some extra shade covering in the back yard and more comfortable seating.
