We had a large group of 15, and this place was perfect. The location is beautiful. Lots of wildlife and kind of tucked away along the river. If you’re looking to fish, it’s possible on the property, but there are much better and easier options a short drive away. A couple things to note: it is about a 40 minute drive from Soldotna, and a good chunk is gravel road, but you’re in Alaska and that is common. Also, this is not a mansion. Some reviews that I read on a lot of these types of places expected high end luxury. You are paying for location and some solitude and this definitely provides that. This is a very nice house(s) that is clean and comfortable and is a great option for people looking to vacation and fish in this area. The house is well equipped and is set up really well for cleaning and processing fish as well as lots of freezer space to get them frozen before your trip home. Yes, the areas that are set up for fish processing smell like it. Again, that should be expected. Keep your fish stuff out of the living areas where they should be and those areas will continue to stay nice and clean smelling. If a clean, well equipped house that is set up to enjoy a beautiful view of the Kenai River while also having a great place to process fish if you want, then this could be a perfect place for you. I highly recommend it, especially with a big group, and we’ll definitely keep it on my short list if I’m able to make another trip back to Alaska.

This was our second time renting this compound. We were a family group of 12 adults/teenagers and 3 young children. There is plenty of room to spread out and the kitchen is well stocked. We had great weather for our week so we spent all of our non-fishing time on the deck. We definitely plan to come back in a couple of years. Thanks!Don

Positives:1) having space to spread out 2) beautiful river right outside door3) home has many things you might need (shampoo, conditioner, spices, laundry detergent) and many other random things in garage that are useful4) key code on doors was very convenient 5) having two sets of washer/dryers was amazing Negatives:1) very far from town, with roadwork that makes trip even longer - must add an hour to every outing (just to get to Soldotna)2) river was closed for fishing 3) decor/finishes/towels/bedding/ kitchen items should all be much nicer at this price point 4) bathrooms are tiny and not enough of them

Late in the season, but the property was beautiful and comfortable for a large family. The river was particularly nice with the fish, eagles, and even a wayward seal swam by one day!
