We enjoyed our nine nights at Casa Hacienda. Karen and her pups were very welcoming. It was nice to drink our morning coffee by the pool. And wait for her girls to come say good morning. We were within walking distance of several places to eat. We took a taxi to town daily. And never had to wait long for one to come by. Karen’s place is simple, affordable and it met all our needs.

Absolutely loved our stay! Place was clean, well maintained, and all around beautiful! Karen was very nice and gave us some recommendations on where to visit. We are coming back next year and will be booking with Karen again!

The property was just as it was advertised. Karen was a fabulous host. Because of her recommendations, we ate very well and spent many days on some amazing beaches. We even rode her free bikes one day. Big grocery store within walking distance, good restaurants nearby and a super fun atmosphere of dining, music and shops on this main corridor thru downtown. We ended up renting a golf cart about our 3rd day, and we kind of wish we'd done if from the start. All in all, very relaxing week. Thanks Karen!

La Hacienda was a great spot for our 4 night stay on Isla. Playa Norte has a lot going on so getting a bit away was ideal. It’s a short bike ride and having free bikes to use was a huge bonus. The pool was clean and refreshing.

Came in on a Thursday and Karen greeted us with her wonderful dogs and gave us all kinds of information about the room, area, recommendations, and just made our visit to the Isla wonderful. She was quick to respond and exceptionally accommodating (we caught rain on the morning of our check-out with a late flight and offered to hold our bags until later, even able to give us a couple extra hours since we weren’t prepared for rain). The location is central with a 100 peso taxi ride anywhere on the Isla, very easy to get a taxi on the street. Great local spots to grab food when the restaurants are closed (don’t be hesitant to try the little house restaurants, the food is aMAzing). Will definitely return!

Karen and the pups were amazing hosts. she went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. She was happy to loan us bikes to get around, chairs for the beach, and towels for water activites. like the other reviews stated, do not hesitate to stay. amazing expereince and wonderful hosts.

Nice 1 week vacation to Isla with family and friends. Nice little spot to spend some freshening up time and to crash for the nights. I Would have stayed longer but had a commitment in the states. Our friends stayed an extra few days with no problems! Thanks for the hospitality Karen. Keep those puppies safe!

La Hacienda by Karen was the cutest, quaintest, neatest little place. Nice little private pool and rooftop area to also lounge around at. Karen was very helpful and was a pleasure to stay with. Her place was centrally located as well. Would stay with at her place again and would recommend.

After spending a day at the beach its great to open the gate at this property and walk back to your room and enjoy the oasis of Karen’s pool area. Karen is always available if you have any questions about activities or restaurants etc. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will be back to this property.

We stayed 2 nights in Isla and this B&B worked well for us. Nothing fancy, which is totally fine by us, but I felt it was pretty pricy for what you get. I didn't personally see Karen but she was kind and helpful though messages and accommodated our late- night check in which was very nice! Felt safe and quaint. Thank you!

Perfect place for staying for a short or long trip. Local restaurants and beaches not too far away. Loved having the pool right outside my door! And having a bike to ride around, makes it much easier! Karen was super helpful and easy to catch up with when arriving. Overall, a great experience!

Very nice courtyard setting with pool. Room was moderate size with firm, comfortable bed. Central location was perfect for getting to both ends of the island. Host Karen Davis ensured we had everything needed for our stay and was readily available should assistance be needed. She was a conscientious host who provided many suggestions for restaurants, shopping, etc. Overall, felt her accommodations were a very good value in terms of location, amenities, and cost.

Karen is the best host EVER! I truly cannot say enough good things about this wonderful human being. She is kind, thoughtful, hard working and provides a beautiful stay. We enjoyed 10 days with her and we will always remember this special trip. We have travelled extensively, and I can honestly say that you will not find anyone on the planet better than Karen. We loved her sweet, and very well behaved dogs as well. They are adorable! The location is excellent. We used her bikes daily as the island is not so big. What a great bonus! We loved that this was such a cozy and quiet place to retreat to. We loved exploring the island during the day, and were so happy to come back to a quiet and cozy place to spend our evenings. Karen is EXCELLENT in making sure you have everything that you need. The bar fridge was nice and cold, and the coffee maker was excellent to provide our caffeine boost in the mornings. We will never forget the kindness and attentiveness that Karen provided. Thank you again, Karen! what a magnificent vacation!

We cannot say enough about Karen and her La Hacienda. It was a perfect getaway for us. Everything worked in our suite. If you have a special request, Karen is right there on it. Even if it's something quirky like needing a loud fan noise to fall asleep by, she's got you covered. :-) Centrally located on the island and minutes from anywhere you want to be. And, it comes with the cutest onsite guard dogs to keep those feisty cats and lizards at bay. The pool & garden area right outside the door are perfect. Thank you and we can't wait to come back!

This property is a beautiful, quiet, paradise perfectly located in the middle of Isla Mujeres. The owner is fantastic and she has thought of everything to make your stay a wonderful experience. The location is perfect, close to shops, restaurants, grocery, and she even offers the use of her bicycles. The pool is heavenly located just steps outside of your room. The furnishings are 4-star quality from furniture, to bedding, the shower and the gorgeous colors and design. The beautiful garden provides privacy for the entire property. This is a gem of a place to stay indeed. I can't wait to go back.

Karen and her property was the most perfect spot for us for our honeymoon! It was private and quiet, and yet right in the center where getting to everything was right around the corner it seemed. Karen gave us some great recommendations and suggestions for anything we asked. Loved that I could sit on the rooftop or take a dip in the pool anytime day or night! We highly recommend!

Before my trip even began, Karen was on top of the communication. She and I kept in touch as to what time I would arrive and she let me check in early since no other guest was occupying the space, which I VERY much appreciated since it gave me a spot to store my luggage. She also gave me wonderful instructions on finding the property. When I arrived, I learned that she and I actually lived in the same city once, so immediately I liked her even more and her three dogs that live on the property with her were beyond precious. I should note that I am a dog rescuer so having dogs around just helped me feel right at home. They learned really quickly that I had treats on hand (I volunteer with Isla Animals when I visit) so I often had them come hang out in my room if I had the doors open. The property is well kept and secure. Two gates, one locking when you come in and had special parking for the golf cart I rented for the week, which was an extra nice touch. The rooms were exactly as described and the pool area kept nice and tidy the entire trip. The upstairs lounge area is precious and comfortable. I took advantage of the hammocks most evenings. We had one night that the water went out, but even that was taken care of swiftly and Karen was on top of it. I know that it was stressful for her as all units were rented so I am sure she was worried about our comfort. She really made sure to get plumbers out to the property at 10pm and I think that just shows what kind of property owner she is. The location is either an up or downside to the property depending on what you personally want. I like being more in a neighborhood but that comes with noise (roosters, barking dogs, etc) - none of which can be controlled by the property but something worth noting if you like silence. It is much quieter though than staying immediately next to Playa Norte, which I have also done. The access to Playa Norte is quick and easy, basically 10 - 15 minutes either direction and you are on one end of the island. It makes for easy access to Punta Sur to see the beautiful views and Playa Norte and shopping, etc. Karen was kind enough to provide a map and some suggestions as far as dining and activities. I've been to the island a few times, but this was helpful in finding new things to experience. All in all, highly recommend and for the price, this stay cannot be beat! I would absolutely recommend staying here and make sure you take treats for the doggos!

My wife and myself got in early and Karen was great enough to accommodate us by letting us check in early. This is a great central location with restaurants, convenient stores,pharmacy, and a large grocery store all within walking distance. It is relatively quiet and in a safe area the locals are great and helpful. The pool was clean and if you needed something Karen was helpful with what you needed.

Beautiful property. Karen was a great host giving us lots of tips and suggestions. Cute accommodations and exactly what you see in the photos! Great central location (30 min walk to Playa Norte, and lots of great restaurants within 5-10 mins) Offered us bikes and snorkel gear to use as well.

Karen was a fantastic host, Extremely helpful in providing recommendations. Offered up beach chairs and snorkelling gear. The location was perfect. You do need a golf cart to get around

Owner Karen is a pleasant women with three friendly dogs that relieve themselves at or on the pool deck. We were not there but a few minutes and the dogs relieved themselves right in front of us ultimately getting washed down by the owner with a bucket of water which eventually could run into the pool🤔. You would think the dogs would have an area of their own to use as a toilet, not the paying guest area?? The suite is smaller, dark and in need of upgrade (smaller than the photos present ). The neighbouring roosters start crowing around 4:00 a.m., so not alot of sleep, no pool time! Notice was given 2/7 days in with the owner, she said that their was no refunds with VRBO properties. First time with VRBO properties and we would give them a failing grade to the point that they should be investigated as an international Company. We truly hope that this comment is posted for vacationers to see. Ps… the laundry facility on this property was something to see !!!

Karen, the host, was kind, accommodating, and present on the property, which was very helpful. We stayed in the frog suite and enjoyed the room.

Karen was SO wonderful. There were a few maintenance things, but she took care of everything promptly! The bed was comfy, AC worked great, beautiful rooftop patio with lots of places to sit and relax. The property overall had some real charm! Tiny thing - No full-length mirror in the room so you can't see what you look like before going out for a fancy night but other than that, it was a wonderful vacation. I was on my own and felt like everything was easy access. You get a much better feel for the actual island and its people when you don't stay right in the tourist hub. I would recommend!

We enjoyed the property and our hostess, Karen, very much! She made sure that we had everything we needed, including bikes to explore the island. The pool and rooftop were perfect for evening hangouts and we LOVED spending time with Karen’s pups! They are such sweet girls! :-) We will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful stay here. I was immediately happy to see that the space is not nestled in a tourist zone, it’s in a cute little neighborhood that feels more local but is thankfully still not secluded from attractions and amenities. It looks true to the pictures as well and you feel like you’re enveloped in vibrancy and color. It’s a huge plus if you skate like I do because the one skatepark on the island is just a block over and with an ocean view. I love riding bikes around to get places so it was really nice that I could borrow one of the bikes at the house to go anywhere I wanted each day. The island is small enough that everything needed felt in close proximity. There was a great spot for breakfast called Mango which was just a few blocks up and I found myself in a routine of eating there nearly every morning. Also, Karen is an absolute baller. She was so kind and helpful during the duration of my two week stay. I hadn't previously stayed at a place where the host was currently there but I’m honestly so glad to have had her around for whenever I had any questions or just to share a laugh. Her dogs that were around were also so precious and sweet. I would definitely come stay here again!

I rented this place for my sister. I stayed next door with my partner. My sister had a wonderful stay. The property is exactly as it is pictured. It is centrally located on the island, walking distance to several good restaurants and mini-markets, and a quick taxi ride either to Playa Norte or Punta Sur. Karen is very welcoming. She responds quickly to any questions. I highly recommend her place.

Karen was great. Location great. Very quiet and laid back. Great value. Good restaurants near. The noise and touristy bustle close but not obtrusive. Overall, fantastic. I will shall return but without the corncob pipe.
