Comfortable condo in easy reach of the town, just about walkable with skis, and that you can ski back if you are up for the adventure

Adequate bathroom to bedroom ratio - but this unit has not been upgraded since it was built. Cheapest toilet paper and paper towel products, no facial tissue (Kleenex), no kitchen towels or oven mitts, heat not evenly distributed throughout the three floors of the unit (freezing on 1st and 3rd floors at night), shower head oddly low in the master bath, carpet beyond its useful life, post bed missing horizontal post, pillows and bedding not plentiful enough or new enough. Location good for Northstar - but unit disappointing.

I wrote into "[email protected]" as I didn't want to review the property without allowing Vacasa to respond but have not heard back since Saturday.
"Instead of reviewing the property I wanted to write in personally as we had a undesirable experience during our stay with Vacasa at another property over the 4th of July last summer (2022). I left a review on that location and didn’t get a response from Vacasa but noticed the property was taken down and relisted a couple days later with a different property number.
We arrived at Silver Star Resort, Thursday 1/6 right at 4 pm (check-in time) to find out that the unit had not been cleaned. Beds slept in, towels on the floor and so forth. This was a trip for my teenage daughter and some friends before going back to school. We ended up missing our dinner reservation because they couldn’t shower etc. The cleaning crew came about an hour later.
The following things also weren’t right:
• Wireless Network: What is listed on the ap / reservation doesn’t exist, had to find another network but wasn’t reliable. Had to re-log in every 30-mins or so which made working very difficult.
• NorthStar Transportation: Number listed on the ap / reservation (530-562-2257) picks up and says, “Vail Resorts, you have reached a non-working number”.
• NPOA Rec Center Passes: Could not be found
• Parking Passes: Could not be found. I asked the cleaning crew about them, and they couldn’t answer my questions. I ended up getting a parking ticket which I have to pay a fine.
Thank you for your time and look forward to your response."
In addition I agree with some of the other comments / reviews concerning lack of heat traveling throughout the unit and it was a bummer the washer / dryer was out of order. We also found a large bowl of food left in the microwave from the prior occupants.

Nice house but is a bit cold at night
The house is clean and nice with a lot of restrooms. The only problem is can be very cold at night, probably there is something wrong with the heating.

Very good house
Location was great; near enough to Northstar Village. House was clean and was pretty well stocked in the kitchen. The stairs to the top bedrooms probably need repair, as a couple are a little wobbly. The thermostat was quirky in that we alternately were cold then hot. It is a nest system and the last night into the next day when we checked out, either it stopped functioning or someone purposefully shut it off remotely. We had no heat that last night. I would rent this again if I needed all the bedrooms and baths.

Northstar gem
This is a very comfortable condo that easily fit seven people for a week of skiing. The kitchen was well furnished and the living room had plenty of room for all of us to watch movies or play games. We appreciated the 3.5 bathrooms, which allowed lots of folks to shower after the slopes. The shuttle is a bit of walk, but we managed it with three kids and two seniors, so it's doable. When there is ample snow on the ground, you can ski back to the condo (though you have to take skis off once to cross the path to the rec center), which we did several times.

Great place

Virtual Conference Vacation
Four elementary teachers had a great time staying here while we attended a virtual conference. The wifi was strong and we were able to spread out in the four bedrooms. It was quite warm during the first part of the week and no a/c, so upstairs needed fans in the windows. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay. Communication was good and we loved our morning walks up the hill to Starbucks!

The place is a good size, reasonably clean, and has an incredible location within walking distance of Northstar with competitive pricing. But it has the following issues:
1) A new washer dryer in the middle of the dining area reducing the utility of the dining table. We were not informed of this until right before we arrived and it was not fixed the week we were there.
2) A broken washing machine partially taken apart in the middle of the main bathroom rendering it totally useless.
3) The floor with the kids bedrooms was freezing. We were told there were two portable heaters. We only found one and could not get it to work. We found out one of the two air vents on the first floor was closed after 4 days.
4) There is a small door in the closet of one of the two upstairs bedrooms. It is locked but has a clearly visible light that shined into the bedroom at night all week. One of the closet doors is off it’s track and could not easily be moved.
5) The upstairs bathtub and shower curtain are both stained. The shower curtain is also missing a couple of the hooks that hold it up.
6) While I appreciate the concept of having a smart thermostat for energy efficiency, having the temperature automatically fall to 62° at 11 PM at night was a major issue. The heat does not travel well to the lower levels and there was no working space heater. Someone therefore needed to wake up after 11 PM each night to reset the thermostat to a higher temperature.
7) One of the steps going to the top floor is wobbly. This is particularly of concern as there is nothing but air under it until the lower level.
8) We complained all week, mainly about the broken washing machine taken apart in the main bathroom and the new washing machine in the living room, but nobody cared to do anything about it.

Nice unit. Not quite ski-in.
Unit was almost ski-in. Definitely not ski-out. Could have been a bit cleaner and better described. It would have been nice to have 2 twin beds on first floor swapped with a queen bed on third floor. Our son and daughter-in-law had to sleep in twin beds, so that their 2 year old and 5 month old we're on the same floor. I tried for weeks to speak to someone via phone or VRBO texting. There is a disconnect between VRBO and Vacasa. Never got answers to my questions. Only found out upon arrival that there was no firewood and that washing machine was broken. Vacasa did offer us a credit of $25 per night and provided us access to a laundry room on the upper side of the village. Unit was kind of drafty and you have to lift up on the front door to get it to latch and stay closed. Ice maker in frig clogs up. Ceiling heaters in bathrooms need to be cleaned. Just needs some maintenance.

Great Layout!
This place had a great layout with plenty of restrooms and space in the entryway to store and put on ski clothing and boots. The kitchen was large and well-organized. It worked well for our two families. I would only like to see the washer/dryer fixed, more comfortable sheets on the beds (they were quite scratchy), and some sort of heating for the top floor of bedrooms. It was really cold our first night until the condo warmed up the next day.

Well stocked kitchen with a great location.
The Silver Star retreat is a great rental that could easily be a 5 star rental with some minor improvements.
We were very happy with the home and location. The number of bedrooms and beds sold us. The balcony with a grill was a nice plus.
The kitchen is very well stocked. There was a coffee maker, blender, crock pot, toaster, microwave and numerous glasses, plates and utensils.
There are 2 parking passes, and 2 club or HOA passes to the pool. During COVID restrictions, a pizza place is open within walking distance.
There are trails behind the unit. 1 leads to North Star.
We had issues with the washer and toaster, which when contacting the manager, he was very apologetic and professional.
I would gladly rent again in the future, or recommend to friends and family.
Pro’s included: 4 bedrooms with 2 queens and 4 twin beds – ample sleeping for our party of 7.
Lots of cooking and eating utensils – a very well stocked kitchen.
User friendly Wi-Fi and TV unit. One TV in the family room, but more reason to hang out with family and friends.
Balcony with a grill.
Absolutely beautiful surrounding. Walking distance to North Star Resort.
We never saw or had issues with bugs, fly’s or mosquito’s. Not even while on the balcony.
My Con’s or recommended improvements include:
The washer didn’t work, which is being repaired. The toaster latch knob had to be held down to make toast; being replaced after our conversation with the manager.
A second sofa couch would be nice for additional seating. There is one couch and two chairs. The couch is not large.
Ceiling fans throughout the unit would help. Especially in the bedrooms. There were 2 small portable fans. The thermostat is set on a timed schedule and unable to regulate on your own.
Replace heavy winter comforters with lighter comforters during the summer months.
The ice machine kept backing up in the spout on the door. It was plugged and frozen when we arrived. I cleaned it out, but you have to be aware to keep it clear of ice.
No set of pot holders. There were dish towels which we used for hot oven pans.
My last con is a pet peeve of mine. There was hair in the shower. It can be tough to clean and make everyone happy, but there are hot spots that stand out, and that happens to be one.
Overall, a very comfortable unit, close to North Star resort and surrounded by beauty. You can sit on the balcony and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature’s beauty.
My family truly enjoyed our stay.

Compact condo served 6 adults and 4 children well.
We were 6 adults and 4 children and this condo served us well, for as
compact as it is. There were enough linens, plates, glasses, silverware in the kitchen. There could have been more pots and pans, but we always cook in. There was so much fire wood - we were really impressed. The condo just barely got clean at check in time but it was clean. The sidewalks were cleared around 8:00 AM. It did take some time for the streets to get plowed - but it was a very unusual snowfall.

Compact condo accommodates familys of 10
6 adults and 4 children were nicely accommodated in this compact condo. It was clean when we checked in at checkin time. There were enough linens, plates, glasses, silverware. Could have had more pots and pans but we always cook in. There was a washer and drier that we constantly used. we loved that there was loads of firewood. The walks were cleared at 8:00.
