About this bed and breakfast
Newly constructed, this traditional wooden cottage or "case" is located in a calm residential area on the hillside of St. Jean Village on the island of St. Barthélemy. The guesthouse was built to welcome family and friends and is perfect for couples looking for an authentic, charming, comfortable and affordable St. Barth experience.
The small village of Saint Jean is centrally located and just minutes to the most beautiful beaches of Saint Barthélemy by car, as well as supermarkets and pharmacies. On foot, down the hillside, guests can walk to the beaches of Saint Jean, Eden Rock Hotel and restaurants, Nikki Beach and the many boutiques of Saint Jean.
The wooden guesthouse was recently built by local craftsman in the typical St. Barth style, with an exposed wooden roof and wooden shingles, and the doors and windows were refurbished from a old traditional house that was recently demolished. The main structure is painted in white and earth tones and decorated with remnants of the family boating history.
The kitchenette and bathroom are on the main level off the central living room. There is a small table for breakfast and light meals, and a daybed which can be made into a double bed. A spiral staircase leads to a large comfortable bedroom with oversized queen bed (180cm), OR two single beds (90cm x 2), walk in closet and washing machine. The house will be comfortable for a maximum of three adults. Children are welcome (although we caution about a loft like opening and a spiral staircase) and we can loan a boogie board, mask, fins and games/toys to children under 11.
All house linens and beach towels are included. Linens and towels are normally changed once a week. There’s a private washing machine in the cottage for guest use. Additional personalized housekeeping services can be arranged in advance. If you have special needs or specific requests, just let us know.
The cottage is situated in a small tropical garden with partial views of the sea. We are currently in the process of replanting the private garden following hurricane Irma. Guests will find an outdoor table and sun shade as well as a sitting area.
This is a new property for rent but you are welcome to consult our other two properties on VRBO for reviews: La Petite Vigne, Amboise, France and Vinemesa Cabin, Beulah, Colorado.
We’re happy to answer any questions you might have about the cottage or the status of the island.

My husband and I visited Saint barths and stayed at Abigail’s cozy cottage! The cottage had everything you need and was just up the hill from the Eden rock and other amazing, fun places! We rented a car to explore the island & were happy to have a designed parking space. We loved everything about our stay and hope to be back soon! Best trip ever!

This cottage, exactly as advertised, makes a perfect place for two or a cozy three to enjoy an affordable St. Barths vacation that prioritizes access to the outdoors, choosing any luxuries you like, and self-catering the rest of the time. The downstairs bed and the upstairs convertible are both comfortable, the kitchen is very well-organized and functional, the bathroom has excellent water pressure, and the WiFi is good. Most important for us was the central location, which made for easy car travel to all of the island's beaches and commercial centers, as well as the five-minute downhill walk to St. Jean. The hosts were responsive to our every request, answering us quickly despite the fact they were off-island during our stay there. We highly recommend this property and look forward to visiting it again in the not-too-distant future.

The location was easy to get to, quiet, and very convenient to the grocery store, beaches, bakery and the airport. The villa was very roomy, clean, comfy and had everything we needed to feel at home. I enjoyed drinking my morning coffee outside with a daily visitor, a local turtle. This place is charming, cozy, and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We will be back next year and hope to stay here again.

We had an outstanding stay at this beautiful cottage. Abigail and her husband were kind and gracious, and the communication was great. The location was terrific for moving about the island- it was exactly as described. We had two delicious meals at Le Piment and two at Kiki-é Mo. A spacious refrigerator and effective cooktop were just two features of the very functional kitchen.. We slept very well in the extremely comfortable bed! Finally, the shower had excellent water pressure. We feel quite fortunate to have found such a fantastic place for our first visit to Saint Barth. Thank you!

I drove all over the island and concluded the location in St Jean to be very desirable from my perspective.
Be prepared for an uphill hike from the coast if you are on foot. After a couple of days I viewed it as beneficial once my legs were used to it.
The cottage is peaceful and quiet at night with some intermittent street noise during the day.
Be prepared to rely on your computer for home entertainment as there is no tv, stereo or radio.
The bedroom and bathroom are on two different floors.
Outdoor seating/dining is very pleasant
Overall an enjoyable experience with some adaptation to the uniqueness of the cottage.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at the cottage. The description was very accurate, as it was very clean and comfortable. The location is a very short walk to St Jean Beach which we made use of. Francois was very cordial and asked if we needed anything which we did not. I would highly recommend this cottage and would definitely stay there again, if in St Barts

We had a wonderful stay! The hosts were excellent and responded quickly to any questions. The AC works great, kitchen has everything you need, and it was so nice to have a washing machine. Really loved the style of the cottage and so nice to be only a short walk to St. Jean Beach.

This was the perfect guest house in the perfect location on the island of St Barths. The kitchen is quaint and has everything you need to cook in if you want. There are also some of the most amazing restaurants in St Barths. We did a mix of eating in and out. We loved exploring the island during the day and checking out all the beautiful beaches. I’d recommend getting a car to explore the whole island but do know that the best beach (St Jean) is just down the hill from you. We enjoyed our evenings sipping wine in the private garden. The bed was also very comfortable.

This cottage is so special! It is so well built and thoughtfully decorated. The garden is lovely and much fuller now than the pictures represent. Everything is there waiting for you, it is so well-equipped. The little details are an absolute delight! As noted in another review, the bedroom being downstairs was actually fine as the way it was built was specifically to provide light.
The location in St. Jean is really perfect. We had a car for a couple days, but didn’t need it to walk to the beach or great restaurants and shops nearby. We truly enjoyed a week here and wish it was a month!
Abbigail is so kind and was very responsive to any questions or requests. We had so much privacy even though the cottage was part of a larger property.
WiFi was strong as well.
The value of this cottage is also to note. It was one of the most affordable in SBH, but really exceeded all expectations. We stayed in a place 4x the week prior and think we enjoyed this spot more.
Thank you for sharing, Abigail & Francois!!

This was an amazing experience for my wife and me. The cottage was perfect in every since. Centrally located to everything. The very warm, and friendly house hostess helped in enjoying the Island through sharing the authenticity of St. Barts. It is a repeat !!
