About this house rental
Enjoy long-range spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains at “Point of View” cabin in Banner Elk, NC. This cozy home is located near the very top of Beech Mountain, one mile away from Fred’s General Store, and two miles away from Beech ski resort. Beech Mountain is the highest town in the eastern United States at 5500 feet. The home includes three bedrooms (King bed, King bed, 2 single beds, and a pull out Queen sized sleeper sofa in lower family room.) Awaken to gorgeous mountain views and relax by the sizzling hot tub. Go hiking, skiing, zip lining, rafting, shopping, fishing, tubing, and more. Then, cozy up by the gas fireplace, play a game of foosball, view the stars, play a tune on the old piano, or enjoy grilling a meal on the expansive deck. Point of View is secluded and private, yet close to town. Without the road's privacy gate, the street would be a tourist haven as the views are breathtaking along the way. Grandfather Mountain, Boone, Foscoe, Valle Crucis, Sugar Mountain, Blowing Rock and Linville are close to the home/Banner Elk.
Point of View surrounds you with comfort on all three levels. The lower level has a family room that contains a queen pull out sleeper sofa, private level entrance, stairs to middle floor, and one full private bathroom. The main level has a large family room, dining area, kitchen, fireplace, bedroom (king), another bedroom (two singles) and one bath. The upstairs is the master loft (king) with a sitting area that overlooks the family room and mountain views. It has a large bathroom and separate small balcony/deck.
Point of View offers free wifi for guests as well as clean linens. Taxes are included in rental rates.
Sorry, no pets, no smoking and no large parties/events are allowed in Point of View.

My oldest and dearest friends met at this beautiful home for a long weekend. The view was amazing and the proximity to Banner Elk and Beech Mountain was super convenient. Would stay here again! Everything was as described.

This property exceeded our expectations. First of all, the view is fantastic. We loved the use of the hot tub. The gated neighborhood is absolutely charming and felt safe. We loved taking morning walks in the neighborhood. We are a family of 6, and the home had PLENTY of room for all of us. There was a cabinet filled with games and foosball in the garage that our family loved. I think the only complaint and it is VERY minor is that I somehow missed there is no AC. There are box fans in all the rooms and we let the air flow in through the windows and sliding doors as there are screens on all- it feels amazing once it cools down. You do need to enjoy sleeping with an overhead fan on if you like it cool at night while you sleep. Only at night was that an issue. Truly, that wouldn't keep us from booking again here as the weather is truly amazing and felt wonderful. We travelled beginning of August. Oh, I was super impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was! The best of the houses we have stayed in so far. I felt like I could cook anything and I would have all the equipment I needed to do so.

The photos of the property tell the story. Stunning views of the mountains from the open floor plan with lots of windows. The main living area is wide open, with lots of room for everyone, and very comfortable - and every spot affords an incredible view of the Blue Ridge. We look forward to going back!

My family of 5 including 3 adult children thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is spacious and very well appointed and the views sweeping. The hot tub was great. The home is in a quiet, beautiful gated community. This was a great location for us to get to some challenging hikes (Grandfather Mountain), play pickle ball (Buckeye Recreation Center), enjoy local food such as bbq and rainbow trout and experience the North Carolina mountains. I would definitely recommend.

Great stay - Clean and well-maintained property. Fantastic location. Looking forward to staying there again.

This property is a really special place, and located perfectly only a few minutes from the Beech Mountain Ski Hill. The view over the surrounding hills is breathtaking, and the house is in great shape. I love the open wood design, and all the natural light. We cooked breakfast and dinner there every night, and the cupboards were well-stocked with all we needed. The hot-tub worked perfectly, as did the gas grill.

We really enjoyed this property, the views and local wildlife. Great proximity to Beech Mtn.

The house was located so close to the town. Was perfectly stocked.

We had a great stay at this cabin. Very close to beech mountain skiing and a great little area of shops and food right up the road. And the view is worth it!

Wow! This property is gorgeous. The views are incredible. The property manager was very responsive as well as the owners. I would definitely
book this house again.

This was our third time staying and it didn’t disappoint! The view is incredible and can’t beat the location. We loved heading to Fred’s for breakfast and super close to beech mountain for skiing. We enjoyed the hot tub view and waking up to beautiful sunrises! Hope we can return again next year!

Property was beautiful with amazing views. We had a little difficulty regulating the temperature but overall it worked. Could have been a little cleaner, there were drink cans on the balcony of the upper bedroom, and personal items in one of the drawers there. Really enjoyed the views and having the lower living area for kids to play.

Was a great place to stay over Christmas

My husband and I as well as our 2 adult children and their significant others stayed for 4 days and it was perfect! Absolutely beautiful setting and the house was perfect for our group. Thank you!

what a wonderful mountain home. Spacious, good quality beds/mattresses, well equipped kitchen. Nice hot tub, deck, great views.
The location was great, close to restaurants, Beech mountain.
As an aside Ive rented other mountain homes that smelled musty - not this house. Pleasantly rustic, and Very clean and fresh/ well maintained. Would totally stay again.

This wonderful house has everything you could need for a weekend or a month. But the View is the most amazing perk! It is beautiful and unobstructed and did I mention the night sky? We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and the open floor plan. It's simply a great place to stay in the beautiful North Carolina hills!

This is the second time we have stayed at this house. Both times have been wonderful. The views are great and while not secluded, their are no neighbor sounds. The location is great.

It was a great view.
Nice wooded house.
Beds are a little worn out.
No AC so make sure you understand that.

We had a great trip to Beech Mountain and this cabin was a big part of that. It rained every day we were here, and yet the house was comfortable for our party of 7 which included a 4 year old and a 1 year old. We had room to spread out on different levels or come together for a meal.
Everything was in great shape when we arrived and very clean.
If you are interested in a rustic looking cabin that is cleaned and well taken care of, this is a great option.
*note, the view is probably great, but it was covered by fog for the majority of our trip. When we could see pieces of the mountains and it wasn’t raining, the porch was a great place to be.
4.9
This property has the most amazing view! We were saddened by the haze from wildfires but that wasn’t anything to do with the property. Rooms had plenty of space, owners were quick to respond. Overall a great stay! Hope to stay there again!

Fantastic location with lots of space for personal time and social time. Very close to the mountain, perfect for a ski trip!

Great overall experience clean property. We enjoyed the view and the hot tub!

Awesome location right in the middle of sugar and beech mountain. House was spectacular with Amazing views from the GIANT windows, hot tub and house overall were spotless. Beds were comfy and kitchen had all the cookware needed as well as some condiments, foil and misc baking items which was helpful to avoid a run to the store.
Only item to note is that if visiting during the winter, definitely have 4WD because the driveway has a big hill that was icy during our stay and even with snow chains, our 2WD didn’t make it back up the hill until the ice melted.
4.9
Perfect for our group. The view was my father in laws favorite( from Texas). Although we had ice, chains and 4wd made it super easy to navigate and the kids had a blast on the property and up at the communal sled hill

This is our second year in a row coming during MLK weekend & we got lucky to have it snow again while we were here. We absolutely are in love with the view this cabin offers. I do recommend chains for the driveway in the snow we were luckily able to park in the neighbors drive way but other than that this cabin is located in the best location and has all amenities you need!

Wonderful location, comfy beds and cozy home fully stocked. Great experience. Will definitely be back

We are no strangers to Beech Mountain. I’ve been spending summers up here for 30 years. This was my first winter experience on the mountain, however. While the warm spell of weather disappointed us, nothing about the chalet did. The home was beautiful and well appointed. The views are even better in person. The location is great, being very close to Fred’s, but tucked away and quiet, with deer wandering the neighborhood. The heat worked well (baseboard and central). I think our favorite part was coming in after a day hiking or evening tubing session and kicking our feet up in front of the lovely gas fireplace.

2nd year staying in the home for our christmas vacation. 1st year it was a amazing trip.. 2nd year was tons of emotions as we paid for this rental a year in advance. we got word the day before we left to check in that a previuos renter could not leave due to weather on the roads and they had not been equip to leave since they did not follow the rules when driving in snow and using chains or a 4wheel vehicle. since that was the case the owner called and advised us that we would have to stay in another place until they could get the renter out. So we had to try and get a new rental hours before we left for our vacation. We had to opt for a hotel as all the other places had been booked or to high in price or you had to book 2 days min... I was told that I could cancel the house rental but the homeowner would not give me a refund until we had been checked in the new hotel. ( i should not have to wait to get redund if they can not allow me access to rental house. ) but we said ok we will text you when we are checked in hotel and request full refund since we do not have date on when the renter will be allowed off the mountain roads. we got all the way to NC Banner Elk and I was told that they are able to leave now and that we could either keep the full refund request or they would allow us to get the house rental and still check in on Christmas day I asked the owner if the hotel charges me a late cancel would she refund me that fee since the prev renter caused this issue and forced us to find a new rental hotel. she said YES I will do that and work with you all. We cancel the hotel and texted the cancel confirmation to the rental owner. as we had been leaving to head back home days later I asked the homeowner when I would be getting the cancel refund back and they said ( what are you talking about? ) you checked in later that day as you should have - this went on for hours trying to text screen shots of the conversation with the owner that she agree to refund us the cancel fee since we should not have had to find a new rental due to her renter not getting out of the house in time per the phone calls with us . overall this house was AMAZING day and night views. I would send people to rent this rental but just be on caution when you go during snow months as you might run into this same issue that we did and that caused may issues with us coming out of town.. all my comments will not fit as this will allow many words

The home is great. Magnificent view overlooking a long mountain range. Quiet and accessible neighborhood. A lot of space to spread out. We especially loved the rustic interiors of the house. Well stocked kitchen. Nan, the property manager was very responsive via phone and efficient. Communication with the owner before the stay, though, took 48hrs for responses (ours during holiday season so wonder if that impacted a little). Both the owner and property manager were corporative and responsive when we had little concern about pulling out of the driveway after a winter snow storm. Overall, we had a wonderful time at this property. Highly recommended!

This warm and inviting mountain home had everything our family needed. We had plenty of space to spread out with everyone enjoying their own privacy. The furnishings were nice and home was very well equipped. So hard to leave!! Look no further!!

That good weekend , the best mountain view

I love this property so much I've stayed their twice! The location is amazing, not too far up the mountain, less than a mile to some amazing restaurants, close to the Wilderness Alpine Coaster, Grandfather Mountain, and a very easy drive to Boone and Blowing Rock! I enjoyed the sunrise each morning, and ending the day with beautiful sunset views from the hot tub.
The communication from the hosts was excellent, check in was easy, the kitchen is well stocked, and the home is spacious. I ended up only have 4 people for each stay, but my second visit was supposed to include another family as well, and the layout of the home would have absolutely accommodated that. We will definitely be back on our next mountain adventure!
4.9
We stayed a month (late Summer, early Fall], and we would be comfortable staying longer in the future. Home was great, but the best part was the helpful and accommodating owners.
4.9
The setting is perfect. Good location for us for a Wedding at the Overlook Barn. Plenty of wildlife everywhere. Hot Tub was lovely. Carpet looks a bit worn, but overall a nice VRBO. We only had one bag of trash. When we went to put it in the garbage can, the can was full from previous tenants. We shoved that bag in so no wildlife would be tempted.
4.9
This is our first time to North Carolina and we had a wonderful time at this beautiful home! Everything went very smoothly and the home was very clean!! The morning view from the balcony with my hot pumpkin spiced coffee ( purchased from the local store and the home has a coffee maker) was such a great way to start a new day!
4.9
Everything was perfect except for trash issues. There was trash left in the cans from the previous renters. We arrived late the first night after going into town to find a bear in the trash. The bear didn’t leave all night and was there the next morning with her four cubs. I picked up all of the trash and put it in bags. I notified the property manager and was advised that someone would come get the trash. Nobody ever came. This was the only hitch in what was a wonderful weekend.

Breathtaking!
The view was breathtaking! The house was clean, and had all the essentials and then some! Definitely our favorite place we've stayed at on Beech!

Beautiful place!!!
Beautiful place and stay. Everyone enjoyed their stay and didn’t want to leave. We will be back.
