About this house rental

Pelican's Perch is a single level cottage with 3 bedroom/2 baths, located on the west end of the island (6 streets from the Midland road beach access). The house has been newly renovated with updated decor, 1 Serta Icomfort king bed, plush queen bed, and 2 plush XL twin beds; sheets are provided. There is a screened in porch to keep you away from cousin skeeter (that's southern talk for mosquitoes) and to keep you out of the sun. There are two tvs with YouTube TV, a roku, an apple tv, dvd, and plenty of movies. All bedrooms, living room, and screened in porch have ceiling fans. It is close to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, boat ramps, piers, lighthouses, a movie theater, putt putt, and ....of course...the BEACH.

It is a short 1 mile drive/walk to the beach and only one street away from the intracoastal waterway, Yacht Drive. Yacht Drive offers lovely views of the Intracoastal waterway while walking or biking. There is a public walkway/dock overlooking the intracoastal on 4th, 5th, and a small park on 14th street.

Oak Island has miles of beaches, Plenty of beach accesses, public boating access facilities, scenic walkways, two fishing piers and lots more. There is also a city center with 5 public tennis courts, soccer/ball field, skateboard park, and new playground. They also hold small festivals and outdoor concerts. NEW SPLASH PAD open from 10-6, daily. It is located in Middleton Park Annex behind Town Hall. A small private airport is just off the Island and offers plane island tours and parachuting. There are several marinas close to our home that offer boat, jet ski, and paddle board rentals. They also offer sunset cruises and deep sea fishing. Don't miss the sunset at one of the marina restaurants, while sipping a cocktail. If you don't feel like going out, stay at home and cook in our fully equipped kitchen or grill out in the backyard! Enjoy your meal, the breeze, and fireflies out back on the screened in porch.

Just minutes up the road from OKI, you’ll find the historic town of Southport (#1 America's Happiest Seaside Town in 2015) where you can grab a coffee, take a break on one of the many swings, stroll the oak lined streets, and/or shop for unique gifts and antiques. Take a day trip on the ferry from Southport to Bald Head Island where you can rent a golf cart (no cars allowed on the island) and tour the island. Or, take the ferry to Fort Fisher and visit the Civil War Museum or the North Carolina Fort Fisher Aquarium. Pack a picnic lunch, feed the birds, and search for starfish among the mossy rocks.

Historic Wilmington, NC is a little over 30 miles away. With a colorful past, including lots of pirates, this is a fun city to tour, on foot or by carriage! Visit the USS North Carolina battleship while you are there! Lots of neat shops and restaurants are on Chandlers Wharf!

It's a 45 min drive to North Myrtle beach if you want to do some outlet mall shopping or see a big crowd.

This property was FANTASTIC. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying in their beautiful home. The beds were very comfortable, the house was extremely clean, beach supplies were available without having to rent anything on the water. I hope we get to visit Oak Island again! We would definitely rent this same house!!

The home was absolutely beautiful and cozy! It truly felt like home away from home. The hosts were so accommodating and responsive to all of my messages/questions. The location of the home is perfect. Not too far away from Oak Island or Southport and in a quiet, sweet neighborhood. I am looking forward to staying here again!

Our family of four had a wonderful stay! The house is exactly what is in the listing. We avoided paying to park at the beach by utilizing the bikes included at the property. We would drive to the beach and drop a couple of people off with all of our stuff for the day, then one or two would go back to the house and drop the car off and then ride the bikes back. Beds were super comfy, house was very clean, and the street where it is located was quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved staying here! The property is beautiful and so close to the beach. We had a great time both exploring Oak Island and staying in watching movies, grilling, and celebrating new years. Games and DVDs for the kids and a luxurious sun room for the adults to relax. Would come back any time.

Clean - comfortable - nice back screen porch. Everything was great except for the fact that the TV remote was smarter than I was! Another plus is that this side of the island is a bit quieter than the east side. Great for walking or riding bikes! Would come back here anytime I have the time!

This is our second stay at this property and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a beautiful home, clean, close to the beach and plenty of room for our family of 4. Wei my had one glitch with the TV (which wasn’t urgent) but the property owner fixed it immediately. I highly recommend this property, it’s outstanding! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we hope to be back again soon.

We enjoyed our stay at OKI this was our first time at this beach and it was a perfect last minute get away for our family. The house was very clean and decorated nicely. Owners were very responsive when we had questions. We did rent a golf cart to get us to and from the beach, highly recommend

This piece of property is exactly as seen in the pictures on VRBO. We were all very impressed. Clean and very well maintained. If we are ever to come down again would most definitely stay in again. Great location, close the beach in a quite area. The house was beautiful and clean. Plenty of room for a family. The owners provided beach items and even bikes if you wanted them. Additionally they provided recommendations on activities and restaurants. Oak Island is a great place to relax and enjoy the amenities of the beach. I highly recommend this property.

We loved our weekend getaway! It was perfect for our kids. They loved all the toys. The screened in porch was delightful. The appliances were very nice and updated. Very nicely decorated and lots of space for everyone. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay. The house was in a great, quiet neighborhood not far from the beach! The home was exactly as described. They provided some beach chairs, umbrella and some toys. This was a great help! We had a small issue and the owner was prompt to respond.

A perfect place for my mom and I to spend a girl's weekend at the beach. The house was spotless and had lots of thoughtful amenities; the furniture and beds were very comfortable (my mom slept better than she does at home!) and the kitchen was very well-stocked. We wanted to stay an extra night but will just have to come back!

This was our first visit to Oak Island and my family enjoyed our trip and found Tranquil Harbor to be perfect for us! The home was located in a quiet neighborhood. It was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The notebook with recommendations for restaurants, points of interest, and beach access was very helpful. Our trip was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tranquil Harbour. The house had a super cute beach decor. Very well kept up and was exceptionally clean. Enjoyed the screened in back porch. The shower and tub in the master bath was awesome!. The location was very desirable to the beach, grocery store, shops, hop on down to South Port as well. We highly recommend staying at this house.
