Foresta is located within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park. Now known as an “inholding”, Foresta (Big Meadow) started as a pioneering area. Two ranches (McCauley and Meyers) provided beef, pork, dairy and vegetables to the Yosemite Valley hotels. In the twenties, it was sub-divided and given the name of Foresta. Created as an “artistic” community, musical gatherings were held by the creek. After the Great Depression, many lots were sold for back taxes. Approximately 75 homes were in use, either full time or seasonally, before the 1993 A-Rock fire destroyed most of them. More than half of the homes have now been rebuilt. Fire has been a defining force in this area, showcasing Mother Nature's endless cycles.

Perfect location inside Yosemite with easy access to all key areas such as the Valley and Tioga Road. Quiet, well-equipped cabin ideal for escaping the crowds and enjoying the beauty of the park.

The cabin is truly in the perfect location to access all that Yosemite National Park has to offer. The hosts offered clear directions and good communication.
The amenities are OK - no shampoo etc.
Would recommend for a weekend or a few nights if your plan is to be out and about in the park! 8/10

Highly recommend this cabin if wanting to stay in the park, but also enjoy some peace from the crowds. It is close to the valley but has the feeling of peace of privacy in the mountains (with A/C!). There are a few close neighbors, but we never heard them. We brought in groceries and enjoyed breakfast/dinner out on the porch each day.
Only recommendation is to print off the directions the host provides or your own because it’s a bit hard to find the first time, especially with no service.

The place was perfect for what we needed. We did a lot hiking and exploring so this gave us a great place to come back and relax to. It was quiet and away from the crowds. The shower has amazing pressure but make sure you close the bottom all the way to keep water from leaking out. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Yosemite. The house was a short 20 minutes from the Valley which was great! The house is quiet and equipped with everything we needed. The only downfall was the high temperatures that Yosemite was experiencing. The window unit AC had a hard time keeping up. Thankfully the nights cooled off and we slept with the windows open. We would stay here again! Thank you!

We booked this place for our first stop on our honeymoon. We are from Chattanooga. Tn. We loved the location. It is in nature and away from traffic and crowds. We took amazing pictures on the road that takes you to the place. Everything was in driving distance. It really set our honeymoon off to a great start.

Not too far from Yosemite and Curry Villages for groceries and food outlets (maybe 20 mins four to door) and easy journey. Very quiet location. Great space inside. Good, well kitted out kitchen with big fridge, freezer and microwave. Good shower and plenty of hot water. Plenty of towels too. Bed was good size but very soft mattress which may suit some people. Everything you need for a few days inside Yosemite park.

This property was as advertised. There was easy access to all areas of the park. No waiting in line each day to enter the park. It was hot when we visited so it was nice to have an air conditioned cabin to come back to.

This property was the perfect place for visiting Yosemite. It was quiet and secluded, yet still quiet close to Yosemite Valley and Tioga Rd. There is a little maintenance needed, such as a tricky shower door and a mattress that could be replaced, but it was still a great value, especially with the bonus of air conditioning, something hard to find around the Yosemite area. Overall, I think I'd stay again.

My daughter and I stayed there and loved it! We can't wait to return, perhaps this Autumn. It was a joy to experience the beauty of Yosemite and to leave the crowds behind at the end of the day and return to this charming cabin. The peace and quiet there were wonderful. It was comfortable and well stocked with cooking pots and pans, dishes, etc. Our overall experience was a 10!

Located inside the park, this quiet cozy cabin was the perfect spot for my husband and I. The place was very clean, bed was comfy, and location was only 15 mins from the valley, while still being away from the crowds. Loved having a little kitchenette as well so we could cook our own meals. Highly recommend to anyone exploring Yosemite!

Love Yosemite but not the crowds? I get to the park 2-3 times a year, for 25 years now. Foresta is a gem, well off the beaten path for most visitors - but 15 minutes from the valley. Quiet!
Wonderful hikes, literally outside your door. Foresta Falls are about 20 minutes away, and they'd be the centerpiece of a park anyplace other than Yosemite. Continuing on that trail takes you out to overlook the Merced River canyon. Another hike (on First and Second Streets) takes you on a loop around the top of the hill with views of El Cap, Half Dome and Big Meadow. Big Meadow itself is about a ten minutes walk.
As a birder, I appreciated the nice mix of birds, and the fact that you could hear them without all the noise of the valley. A well-stocked kitchen meant that it was easy to make a meal worthy of the location. I'll be back!

My spouse and I spent three nights and it was just perfect. space is good, kitchen has everything we needed and the location was the added bonus. Since it's still within the park there was no enter / exiting everyday, which can be a big time saver. It was easy to find and after all the crowds all day, it was lovely having a quiet, private space to retreat to each evening. Thank you for sharing your space - we really enjoyed it!

Everything was just as advertised. We are seniors and everything was very comfortable. It was our first trip to Yosemite. I had a double hernia the day before we left so I relaxed a lot on the great deck. we did tour the park one day, but left on Sunday even though we had paid for 3 nights . Wanted to sleep in my own bed and heart home. I highly recommend this cottage in Foresta.l

Perfect for us… easy access to Valley and Tioga Rd… gorgeous surrounding scenery. We could cook simple meals and enjoyed walks to nearby sites (old barns, Foresta Falls). Annie was a delight to work with.

Comfortable and clean in a quiet wooded neighborhood within the park. A short drive to Yosemite Valley. This gave us the flexibility to be inside the park, escape the lines at the entrances, and be early enough to find parking at the trailheads or shuttle stops.

My spouse and I loved staying at this property. We stayed for four nights. It’s close to all major attractions yet peaceful and not crowded like the valley. We are early risers and we’re able to see the park each day before it was too crowded. Everything you need is in the cabin. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We definitely plan to return for a week long stay.

Clean and well kept property that is within 20 minutes or so of Yellowstone Village, but at the same time it is far from the crowds. The road down to the property is long and a little curvy and toward the end becomes a dirt road. Still easy to get to, but you just have be patient. The property is one larger room with kitchenette, table, bed and some chairs, and of course there is a bathroom with shower. There are other homes nearby, but folks kept to themselves and privacy was easily maintained. We didn't spot wildlife while there, but given the setting I am certain that it is abundant. We went for a walk along the dirt road (past the closed road sign) and it was lovely with a neat little stream running along side it that was pretty full in late June when we were there. We successfully used the grill that was available for use, and that was handy. All in all a great place to stay while in the Park. Do buy your groceries before you enter the park as your options are very limited once inside the park boundaries. When we return to Yosemite, this is where we will try to stay.

Yosemite was fantastic experience and this house was a great place to crash which was located well to get to different parts of the Park.

It was a last minute decision to see the waterfalls in Yosemite. The cabin is located inside Yosemite so you didn’t have to deal with the traffic at the gate. It’s a simple drive to the cabin and there was beautiful scenery including waterfalls you can see on the drive there. The cabin had the essentials. It was nice they had a grill that we used to cook up a tri-tip for a picnic by the river with friends.

Place a renovated cabin, comfortable, good bed and kitchen. Nice art. We loved the quiet, enjoyed sitting on deck, BBQing. Interesting day of hiking just by walking out from cabin.

This rental gave us a quiet getaway above The Valley, but was still Very convenient for early morning starts down where everything was open. This location would have been even better if Tioga pass and 120 to San Fran were open - but it did probably make it less busy, which we enjoyed. The cabin itself was great. A large bathroom, an adequate and well stocked kitchen, a place to relax, a comfortable bed, and a place to sit outside. We would stay here again if we ever had the opportunity.

Absolutely fantastic experience. 16 minutes from the call just off 120. Drive to the valley was so beautiful, we loved it. Completely stocked kitchen. We had the best time. Thanks so much Rick and Annie. Hope to stay with your property again!!!!

Enjoyed our stay in Foresta. Cabin is small but has everything we needed. Used the grill to cook dinner as restaurants are 1/2 hour away. Stores in Yosemite had a small selection so recommend buying groceries before you arrive.
Nice trail to hike nearby.
We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin. It didn’t seem the kitchen had been cleaned for a while, dust and grime on stove top and counters. I feel if a host is going to charge $150 or more to clean a unit it should be spotless, especially given the small size of this particular unit. We definitely left it cleaner than we found it.
Even with the cleaning issue it was still a good stay.

We had a great stay! The cabin was clean, comfy and quiet! It is only 25 minutes from Yosemite Valley. Very convenient to a lot of great sights. Annie is great to work with. We highly recommend this get away spot!

I selected this location when looking for an option to visit my brother who lives/works in Yosemite. Was looking for more space than a hotel offers and better price point. This was great. Allowed us to cook some (nice since there aren’t a ton of options in the park). Enjoyed sitting out on the deck too.

The cabin is located inside valley (no reservation required separately to enter park) and about 20min drive to curry village, tunnel view. Very ideal spot and highly recommended . The host was very communicative and responsive to our questions. We loved our stay very much and would definite return if opportunity presents itself .

Perfect rustic getaway
This little cabin was perfect for our first time in Yosemite. Easy short drive to the village. We were worried because it was very hot and stuffy when we first got there but once we let the AC unit run (and with the help of dropping temps at night) it was super comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed and the hosts are very communicative. We wish we could have stayed longer!!

Wonderful quiet getaway
This cabin was the PERFECT space and location for us! We were in Yosemite celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and it could not have been more perfect! Quiet and secluded but just minutes away from Yosemite Valley. There were plenty of towels and great water pressure with lots of hot water! The kitchen was well equipped- plenty of dishes, pots and pans, spices, coffee, and a small cooler with ice packs! We enjoyed sleeping with the windows open every night and thoroughly enjoyed having this cabin as our base while enjoying all different parts of Yosemite.
Annie is a treasure- she made us feel extremely welcome and was helpful with so many things :) Excellent communication through the whole trip- we will definitely be back!

This was the perfect place for our stay in Yosemite! So close to the Valley with some hiking right near by as well.

Would definitely recommend for a trip to Yosemite
Highlights: Internet access, Inside Yosemite National Park, Only paid entry fee once,
Close to popular hikes and views,
Good amenities, Excellent directions
The Grove is the perfect place for a trip into Yosemite. It’s outside the hustle and bustle of the main parts of The Valley Tourist areas, but still close enough to be easily accessible. If you have Verizon, this location might be the only place in valley where you can get a signal. (Even though you won’t be on phones much with all the beautiful scenery around, it still made it easy to access apps like AllTrails for downloading maps.) The cabin could use some updating, but my wife and I agreed that we would definitely stay here if we were to visit Yosemite again.
