This is a great property. For outdoor activities they have it all. Amazing views (especially sunset), sandy beach great for hanging out in, all the toys like kayaks, paddle boards, and life jackets, fire pit and with chairs, and a great shade tree. Inside was fully stocked as well — the kitchen, the games, the linens like towels and sheets, showers, you name it. Perfect set up for talking, a separate table for games and puzzles, and a table large enough for a big family to eat together.
The location is perfect with shopping, mini golf, and restaurants options all around.
Dennis, the host, is thoughtful and responsive. He communicated well before our trip, during the trip, and after.
We are looking forward to next year!

We just finished another great week at this house. This was our third year at the property and as usual, it was wonderful both inside and outside. The inside was very clean and had everything our family needed for a fun stay. The large yard is perfect for playing games and the sandy beach is great. Our 4-year-old granddaughter loved playing in the lake, and my husband and I enjoyed our morning paddle board rides. We've already signed up for next year!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! (2nd time; we were also here in 2020). Dennis is great to work with & answered any questions quickly by text or call. You literally need to bring nothing but your food & drink. Our grandkids (age 1-4) loved the sand play area & the shallow sand beach. We had fun kayaking, boating & playing lots of yard games in the expansive, flat lakeside yard. Firepit evening time was also very fun. We shared mealtime prep among our adults & had plenty of space to work in the kitchen with full view to the living area & gorgeous views to the lake & yard. Our grandkids did not want to leave! We would definitely recommend this home & hope to return again.

Great family getaway in a beautiful, clean cabin on a quiet, clear lake. Our family enjoyed time on the beach and utilizing the kayaks, firepit and the local park. Looking forward to returning in the future.

This was our bookclub's 5th stay at this cabin and it gets better every time! Dennis is a consummate host and the cabin (house) is beautiful and so well appointed! Can't wait to go back in the fall!

An airy, bright home on a sandy, shallow lake. This spot had everything we could have wanted, inside and out. Great communication with host. Loved it!!

This was hands-down one of the cleanest, best equipped properties I've ever stayed at! The host was very responsive to all our inquiries and provided clear instructions on how to use some of the 'bonus' elements of the home like the fireplaces. Best of all, the host has carefully fit at least two separate beds into each bedroom, so we had 9 people gather together without having to share a bed. It was ideal for a my group of knitting friends! If you are planning a retreat or similar, I strongly recommend booking this property - you will be glad you did.

Our group has an annual winter getaway, and this place was perfect! We loved all of the space to visit as a group and little spaces to get away from everyone. The kitchen made all of our meal planning easy. Appreciate all of the great communication with the owner!

We had an awesome time in Merrifield over nye weekend. We loved, loved, loved the property. Dennis was a fantastic host. We had many questions in which Dennis was very accommodating and went through step by step what we needed to do to work the TV, fireplaces, and water. We even had some questions on New Year's Day which he answered promptly also. There were 8 adults and we all said we would stay here again. Kudos to Dennis.

Over all nice place to stay. Not enough parking for a house that holds 12 people That have multiple cars. Also, when we arrived there was a pile of laundry on one the beds not sure if it was dirty or clean.

This was our fifth stay at this beautiful cabin. It is exquisitely appointed and perfect for a long weekend of relaxation. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed an early fall weekend with friends at Dennis’ cabin. The cabin was just as advertised: spacious and rustic, in a beautiful lakeside setting. We prepared and enjoyed big meals together in the cabin’s well appointed kitchen and dining room. We loved taking the kayaks and paddleboards out on the lake and took in a gorgeous sunset around the campfire, at the lakeside fire pit. Try as we may, we couldn’t exhaust all the games and other fun opportunities the cabin had to offer in one weekend! Dennis is the perfect host, and went out of his way to make sure we settled in comfortably. I realized after I got home the I accidentally left my purse in the cabin, and Dennis made it a priority to have it sent to me as quickly as possible! I was so relieved and appreciative. This cabin is the perfect getaway and we hope we can return sometime in the future.

Truly amazing—-especially dealing with Dennis, the owner! This group of gal’s relied on Dennis for so many things since we are not the most technologically savvy, and he was there immediately to assist! Beautiful place and we couldn’t have been happier!!!

I text the owner (texting was his request). Back door-unlockable! Kids bunk bedroom had 26 wasps. My husband & 2 adult sons used hornet spray & plugged entrance they could easily see (through deck door frame). Dark bathroom short 1 bulb. Grill was totally disgusting! No apology-just thanks & drive safe. All 3 BR had queen beds 36" high & only 1 of the 3 had a step stool to get into bed. This is a very nice home & with just a little TLC it would be fabulous. I have used Vrbo for 20 years & never had anything like this. If you are going to rent it PLEASE: check medical clinic & hospital info provided-not all is accurate. Bring fans for each bedroom as it gets quite stuffy even with the air on. We totally enjoyed the shallow water, beautiful beach. Beautiful view of lake from home. Not all photos on website are accurate ex. the large seating pit on back patio is replaced with 3 chairs-we were looking forward to pit for us all to fit. No longer is there a pull-out bed in den, furniture changed.

We had a great time! Property was very nice with long grassy yard and sandy beach with shallow water, which was great for our young grandkids. The house was lovely and we enjoyed watching the Pileated Woodpeckers from the large windows overlooking the water.

Our family was in need of a summer escape on a lake l. We stayed at Grand view last year, but wanted to try something a little different this year. This place had it all for a family retreat. Plenty of space, a fire pit, great lake (sandy bottom), and beach, boars, games, and more! Our host communicated well and was very gracious. Would love to return again.

This was our second year staying at this property. We have kids in the family ages 1.5 - 6 years old and all had a ton of fun. The house is beautiful and the water toys at the property helped us have a wonderful few days of fun.

Beautiful home and location. Host was very responsive and easy to work with.

My family and I just spent an awesome week at this beautiful lake place. Every part of the stay was wonderful. There were private, spacious areas for everyone to sleep and great gathering spots for us to be together. The home was well stocked with all the things we needed for our stay.
The big yard was the perfect place to play, and the lake was sandy and shallow. My granddaughter loved it. We swam all week. I can’t recommend this property enough! We are already booked for next year!

This is a truly amazing & idyllic cabin & property. The home is absolutely gorgeous with lots of windows & light & scenic views. The backyard is beautiful & spacious & great for kids to run around & play yard games.
The real gem of the property, however, is the beach & swimming area. Having been to lots of different cabins & lakes, the beach here is absolutely unmatched. It’s sandy & shallow all the way past the dock, gradually getting deeper so adults can go by the dock to swim, but it’s also an amazing & safe swimming area for young kids. We had 2, 5 & 9 year olds on the trip & didn’t have to worry about dangerous dropoffs or mucky sand or seaweed. The volleyball net in the shallow water was incredible as well, we played lots of games & loved all the kayaks & paddle boards too. You could spend all day out there & never need to leave the property!
Dennis was an extremely helpful & friendly host. He went above & beyond to help ensure we had a great vacation & got the most out of their cabin. He & his wife really thought through every detail of their place - from Moe the robot mower keeping away geese & bees to the 4k tv with speakers throughout the house, this really is an exquisite property.
My family had such a great time here & made some amazing memories & Dennis’ place will always be our default cabin for future vacations! I can’t recommend it enough.

Our entire family enjoyed this beautiful lake home- fishing, swimming, water volleyball, s’mores by the fire pit and relaxing by the lake watching all the birds. The house has everything you need and is a wonderful getaway. Dennis was a very responsive host!

We had a great experience with this property. The owner was great with communication during booking and before the stay. The house was well laid out for our group of 8. Enough beds and space for everyone. Great kitchen. Awesome sound system throughout the house. Great lakefront beach and dock. Plenty of games and activities to do indoors and out. Close proximity to plenty of golf and other activities in the area. Can't wait to go back!

My college friends and I had a wonderful relaxing weekend at this beautiful cabin. We enjoyed snowshoeing, sitting by the fire and playing games. The owner, Dennis, did a great job of explaining how everything works and how to start a fire. We hope to come back again:)

A very snowy weekend, but enjoyed the cozy wood burning stove and the beautiful views from all the windows. The place had everything we needed and the communication was awesome.

My husband and I spent nearly a month at this beautiful property, and enjoyed multi-day visits from friends and family during our stay. We couldn’t have been happier with the entire experience. The home is large, beautifully constructed with an open concept, well maintained, fully equipped (kitchen, baths, bedding, linens, etc.) and provides easy access to snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and more. Beautiful wood-burning fireplaces in both main living area and den for cozy days/nights at home. Highly recommend for groups of 2 to 10+!!

We all had a great time! Was perfect for our annual girls weekend, even though the weather was -10/-20! Very cozy and warm with the fireplaces! The host was very responsive and friendly and available at any time!

Overall a really cool property. You get less out of it in the winter since you can't really use outdoor amenities (and it wasn't shoveled), but I'm sure the price is substantially lower to reflect this.
Get ready for a fairly dense check in letter and house tour process for when you arrive, recommend you read the letter before arriving since he will ask if you read it. This was slightly irritating after a long week, but that could just be me.
Owner had to send someone to light our stove heater, and informed us he had not been notified we were coming, otherwise he "would have cleaned". That was a bit concerning but other then that, everything seemed fairly tidy and we enjoyed it for our stay!

There were 4 adult couples and we stayed 3 nights in late December. It was a perfect house for us, 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and a huge amount of common space overlooking a winter scene on the lake. Much of our activity was inside, reading, board games, puzzles etc and the space was perfect. We have stayed at several VRBO's and this kitchen was far superior to many we have stayed at, both for the space and appliances as well as spices etc. I would like to spend time here again.

Dennis is very responsive to questions and with information sharing in regards to renting his property. We enjoyed a 3 day 2 night stay celebrating Christmas with family. The open concept living room/dining and kitchen allowed us all to be together and enjoy company, game playing, social drinking and meals. The rooms allowed for some time apart and the TV room allowed for some quiet solace from the larger group. It was nice to have bulk amenities like shampoo, conditioner, body wash and full set of towels, bedding etc for each bedroom and bathroom. It was truly was a nice home away from home getaway.

My family loved this setting for celebrating multi-generational Thanksgiving. The fireplace set the perfect ambiance while the ground outside was covered with snow. Lots of bird watching, puzzle making, and generally good lounging. Cozy beds and well equipped kitchen. Would stay again!
