The comfortable and gracious home and its tranquil setting on the lake provided the perfect location for the annual summer reunion of our far-flung family of three generations. We have been to many nice places in various parts of the country over the past dozen years or so, but this was the best.
The house was lovely and roomy. The bedrooms for three adult couples were comfortable, especially the master bedroom which included a long bathtub with waterjets as well as a large walk-in shower. The room with bunkbeds for the grandkids included two large regular beds for the older ones.
The kitchen was well equipped and because the weather was so good, we ate all of our meals at the long table on the deck facing the lake that comfortably seated the 11 of us.
The lake felt very serene—there were no houses on the other side of the lake and quiet, with relatively few motor boats passing at a distance. And there were no bugs.
We spent a lot of time on the dock, where the two young grandsons (8 and 10) learned to use a spinning rod and caught several sunfish and a bass. They and the others used the dock for sunbathing and then swimming. The water was clear, refreshingly cool, but not cold. The kayaks and canoe were a real plus, especially for a quiet paddle in the morning mist that we had for a couple days. We rented the Boston Whaler, which seats 7, and a big tube that we towed for the kids to ride.
We also used the motor boat for fishing; trolling as well as casting.

I know. About lake Nantahala for awhile and know it was a clean lake. To be honest the lake house was perfect the grandkids loved it better than the beach. So many options to do on the water. The house had a variety of lake toys that were perfect. The house was great and roomy and we had porches to eat on etc. Iit really was better than a beach vacation. We will definitely be back! The communication and response was top notch! Thanks for sharing the house !!!

Wonderful vacation. Property was exactly as described. Location on the lake was very convenient. House was well stocked with everything one would need. Communication with owner was very easy. Very comfortable for our family of 10.

Overall, I give this home a 5/5. The home is beautiful, lots of covered outdoor space the way/hang if it rains, host was very helpful and responsive, and the home was well kept. For those reasons, I give the home a 5/5 rating. My big negative point though is in regards to the inaccurate listing. On the listing, it stated sandy beach and from the pictures, you can see a much larger grassy backyard. We chose this house because it stated sandy beach as we brought several young children and we thought this feature would serve us well. When we arrived there was absolutely no sandy beach but rather a large rock wall and no grassy backyard as the picture shows. It would have been nice to know that before hand, but my whole family still enjoyed the place and had a wonderful time.

If you are looking for an outstanding vacation experience, this is definitely the place to stay! We had our family of 13 stay for a week, and there was plenty of room for us all. Absolutely everything we needed was provided. The home is beautiful and the lake and view are stunning. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped which made it enjoyable to cook each evening. There are 2 very nice grills and a fire pit, which was great. The kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and wakeboards were used often. We spent long days in and on the water (which is pristine). We had the use of the owner's boat, which was the highlight of the trip for the kids and grandkids. We also enjoyed the hot tub. The owner was very responsive and did everything he could to make our stay perfect. It is not an exaggeration to say that this is among the very best accommodations at which we have stayed. If you are paging through VRBO listings looking for your next vacation, stop looking and book this now. You will not be disappointed!

House and lake were nice. Area is remote. Lake traffic not crowded. Take your food provisions with you for your stay. Restaurant is nice. It's a dry county so if you want alcohol, get it before you get there.

Well maintained secluded and beautiful property. The owner was fantastic.
Highly recommend

Fabulous house. Somewhat secluded from any real restaurants or anything like that but the house truly was great. Check out the breweries in Andrews! Lovely people there and had a blast playing “Singo” with all the locals at the bar there last night. Great trip!

Bradley was an excellent host. House was clean and well equipped for a large family. Lots of water toys and a great dock for swimming. Amazing views and scenery from all the decks. We would definitely come back!!
Cons: Propane tank was empty on the grill. Owner had a new tank delivered in just a few minutes. The driveway is steep, but manageable.

We had an amazing time in this gorgeous lakefront property! This is our 4th year renting at Nantahala and this property was the BEST yet! We will definitely be back! Thank you to Bradley for his prompt responses!

What a spot!
This place is amazing! The house is nice and very accommodating. Bradley is a terrific host. But most of all, this location is simply amazing! The lake is pristine. The shoreline across from the house is national forest. The stars at night are incredible! We stayed for 3 nights and never got back in our car until it was time to check out. Never wanted to. Highly recommend this sweet little corner of the universe.

Amazing property for a large family vacation.
Fantastic location on the lake. The water was warm and clear. Something do to do for everyone.

Great spot on the lake
The house was perfect and the access to the lake was great! Kayaks and canoes provided,
which led to hours of fun. Swimming off the dock was great, too! The only challenge is the driveway—pretty steep. Low clearance vehicles will have a challenge. The owners give good tips on how to manage it, though.

Amazing home and location, and a super responsive and friendly host!!
The photos don't do this property justice. It felt like something out of a book or movie! Absolutely idyllic.
The hosts have thought of everything you could want/need on a trip. They were super responsive and willing to answer any questions and also just help in any way possible. It was a nice change of pace from some of our other experiences!
Even though the driveway was steep, we were able to get 3 SUVs and a truck down there. Plus there was a park spot across the street, so it wasn't too bad all things considered and definitely doable.
We would definitely come again! The property and service were both beyond belief! Brad went above and beyond to try and help us find fishing guides as well! A++ hosts!

Enjoyable stay
The house offers plenty to do both for adults and children. Kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards, an awesome fire pit with fire wood. We went into Bryson City for the train ride but otherwise stayed and enjoyed the house. Lots of games, books, and areas to rest. Very enjoyable!!

Beautiful views
We had a group of 12 adults and one child, it accommodate us perfectly, we all loved the house.
We only had problems with the drive way it was very steep and difficult to park 3 cars. Other than that I would definitely stay in the house again.

Great time on the lake with a mountain view
This is a great property and has something to do no matter your age. If you can’t find a water toy to play with among the “fleet” you must not like the water! Great time with our family. Only drawbacks are the proximity to Franklin and the steep driveway but you know that going in and you work around it to be on an elevated lake (think cool) and an unobstructed Mountain View. It doesn’t get any better than that. Thanks Brad!

The Perfect Proposal
Magic happened on this property. Maybe it’s the fresh mountain air or the mystical, clear lake, but this lake is magic. The same can again be said for this property. I set out to propose to my girlfriend with a very specific location in mind. Well, it’s specific in the sense that I could picture where I wanted it but didn’t actually know if this location existed. Digging around on VRBO, I found several rental properties of note. Honestly, most of the properties I’ve seen riding around the lake are drop-dead gorgeous. Any one would have made a swell place to propose to someone, but they didn’t quite sit right with me. They weren’t the place I envisioned. Then I found Mr. Bradley’s house. The moment I saw the cover picture of the dock, I knew there was no point in scrolling anymore. This was the place. This dock (and I still maintain this after boating around the entire lake looking at properties) is the greatest view of the lake, and ultimately became the spot where I asked my girlfriend (now fiancé) to marry me. I invited 12 of her family members along with my parents and my brother and his wife (the 4 of them didn’t stay), and we had an incredible weekend. Wakeboarding, hiking, fishing, swimming, campfires, games, you name it. Her family has never really been the traveling/vacation type, and they absolutely loved it. I want to rate this place more harshly just to seem like I’m not just gleefully checking the 5 star option because I’m so high on happiness right now. However, even when looked at objectively, our stay was flawless. Mr. Bradley’s instructions were very clear and everything was really just laid out for us in preparation of our time there that weekend. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. I’m just hoping I get to come back with my side of the family one day. Ps- I’m sending Mr. Bradley some of the pictures of our setup at the dock for the proposal, complete with fairy lights, flowers, vases, candles, and rose petals. Maybe you’ll get to see them in the pictures listed.

AMAZING!
Perfect get away to celebrate my dads life and being in remission from an aggressive lymphoma! We fell in love with this lake 6 years ago and wanted to bring our extended family from PA to enjoy it's beauty and life together. House much more impressive in person than the photos depict. Spacious, comfortable and homey with well stocked kitchen. Pictures don't show, but it has a large pantry which we filled on arrival. I was worried the fridge would not be large enough for all we brought, but it is a generous size and worked fine for 14 people. Very much enjoyed eating all our meals outside on the deck and the large round table was great for card games for 10 in the evenings. Abundance of games and books for entertainment as well as pillows and blankets for sleeping. I'm a mattress snob, but the beds were very comfortable- THANK YOU for that investment!! We rented a pontoon boat for leisure and rented the house boat for thrills! LOVED the high quality variety of life vests, paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks. We did not have any Wifi or cellular service during our stay (due to a Frontier issue) which is really a blessing to me. Just be aware if you absolutely have to have it, it might not be working. Many thanks for offering your home to others to destress from the crazy, fast paced, demanding world we live in. Can't wait to come back soon!

Beautiful house, perfect lake
We were very happy with our stay. We had a hiccup when we extended our reservation, but Bradley fixed the situation more than adequately. The house was exceptional, with a perfect location on the lake.

Beautiful views and wonderful home
The house is lovely and well equipped. Plenty of places to be together and to spread out. Our family enjoyed the dock, the canoes and kayaks. We most especially loved finding the islands with rope swings.
Bradley was a very responsive host and got back with us quickly about any concerns or questions.
Things to note- driveway is very steep, lots of stairs, closest grocery store is about 30 minutes away and no cell service. Not a complaint at all, just an FYI.
We had a great time and would return.

Great family vacation house!
Tastefully decorated, comfortable, well-outfitted house with gorgeous views-really nicely set up for a multi-generational family vacation like ours. Comfy downstairs area for the kids, and good wifi. House is in great condition with all sorts of options for water sports and general relaxation. Owners quickly remedied a check-in snafu, which was much appreciated, and were otherwise very responsive and provided lots of thorough info about the house and the area. We’d love to return - Lake Nantahala is a hidden gem!

Gorgeous location, beautiful home
Our Family helped us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in Bradley’s gorgeous home on Nantahala Lake. Everyone agreed after 13 summers of Family vacations on Lake Michigan, this was the most fun we have all had. We hiked to waterfalls, went on a zipline through the mountains and and white water rafted. We rented a pontoon and tube, tried waterskiing, used the kayaks and canoe at the house, rented a small sailboat and spent hours diving if the spacious dock and swinging off the rocks on a rope swing. Hours were spent in the hot tub, cooking on the grill for dinners around a big table on one of the open air porches and roasting marshmallows around the fire pit.
Most of the time was spent outside but the indoors were very comfortable for playing games and working on puzzles. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds for 5 children and 6 adults. Winding roads along rushing rivers, high rock walls and lush green forests were fun to drive and the peaceful untouched atmosphere was great for relaxing. Lastly, the lake and the Mountain Views were spectacular.
We are coming back next year!

Beautiful
What a fantastic house! Not many steps to the lake which was fantastic!!!! The only thing it needed was a swim ladder on the dock. We used the jet ski dock to get up. Other than that it was fantastic and an absolutely terrific house! Will stay again!

A perfect trip
This getaway was just perfect. So much to do for everyone, relaxing on the porch overlooking the lake, water activities, everything we needed for cooking out, great time cooking s'mores at the fire pit, beautiful sunsets, inviting jacuzzi on porch, and a quick drive to local activities on the Nantahala and in Highlands, NC. A perfect trip.

Spring Break
What a wonderful place to visit and location for getting away from it all. The house was as advertised and Bradley was extremely communicative and helpful throughout booking and the stay. Very remote so downloading offline maps for GPS is a must! But the Wi-Fi is good enough for light streaming, phone calls, email and text. The amenities are clean, modern and everything works. Plenty to do on the property and a walk through the neighborhood is quiet and scenic. We rented the Boston Whaler to compliment the trip. Solid boat, seats 6 safely and handles great! The motor started on the 1st or 2nd try each time. Great for this kind of lake. Would recommend adding a CB radio or including walkie talkies for the boat rental since you only have 1 bar of basic cell coverage on about 1/4 to 1/2 of the lake over near the dam. If boat help is ever required, you're out of communication and luck most parts of the lake. Make sure you have a backup paddle!
We enjoyed grilling our catch and also the multi-level sunset views during the evenings. The firepit was clean and wood provided. We used it each night to enjoy smores with the kids and dark skies with lots of stars. A great mountain lake getaway!

Beautiful house and property. Love the lake view.
The house is absolutely gorgeous and was great for my 83 year-old mother as everything she needed access to was on the main floor. A great family trip and Bradley was great to work. Highly recommend.

Perfect house to bring parents and spend a week. 2 first floor master bedrooms and big kitchen well stocked. Table for 8 and 3 on island. Lake is beautiful, trees and morning fog. Great views. Kayaks and canoes to use also a plus. Tips for this property not bad just FYI.. in middle of nowhere bring food and all you need. Fun curvy roads but slow and dark. No cell service but can call over WiFi , house phone or talk to host on ring dorbell😊. Driveway super steep but also steep walk if you park on road. Yard as many lake houses steep and lots of stairs. Also note TVA lowers lakes 20’ for winter. Great clean house will return.
