About this house rental
Located in an exclusive Palo Alto neighborhood, our home shares a fence with the HP garage, a private museum and national landmark that is the "birthplace of Silicon Valley". We are a 5-minute walk to University Avenue and a 5-minute drive to Stanford University. This home is perfect for tech execs, visiting Stanford families or travelers who want to enjoy the Bay Area. Our family has lived in Palo Alto since the 1940s, so we can answer just about any question to make your stay more enjoyable.
This home is on the ground floor of a three-story Professorville home. We're surrounded by beautiful homes on tree-lined streets (a walker's paradise). We offer private driveway parking. Because you can walk to University Avenue, there are no parking or permit hassles. In our neighborhood you'll find cafes, boutiques, wine bars, the best restaurants and indie/vintage movie theaters. Major tech companies and Sandhill Road are minutes away.
The entire house was remodeled in 2017, with new furniture throughout. There are three bedrooms (1 queen and 3 doubles, sleeping a total of 8). All have Casper mattresses. (If you haven't heard of them before, trust us when we say you'll have a great night's sleep). There is a fireplace in the livingroom, a wetbar with wine fridge, a private deck with Adirondack chairs and chaise lounges, and a fully-stocked kitchen. (I was a chef in New York City--so if you need something exotic, I'm bound to have it.) There's also a washer/dryer and access to our electric car charger. We've published a 24-page full-color guide book with restaurant reviews (including kid-friendly spots), a must-have map for travelers' necessities, and a list of things to do in Palo Alto. We'll tell you everything you need to know, from the best places to hike, activities for art lovers or artists, farmers' markets, nearby parks, where to find a great dry cleaner or who brews the best cup of coffee.
Professorville is a registered historic district in Palo Alto. Here you'll find homes that were built by Stanford University professors starting in the 1890s. Today it is home to some of the world's biggest tech executives. Over our fence line is the historic HP garage. You'll see more of this private museum from your bedroom window than anyone outside this gated property.

Fantastic and historic location. We had not paid attention to the lack of a/c. But that was an oversight on our part. Jacob and Lisa were excellent hosts. Very warm and welcoming. Would love to stay again.

House was perfect, quiet, well located for going back and forth to the hospital and the mall! As well as walking to all Palo Alto downtown locations.

Great location close to town and accommodations were perfect.

Comfortable beds, great gift snack basket and plenty of helpful restaurant and activity suggestions. There was plenty of space for teens to have their own rooms, and it is such a walkable location.

This property was perfect for our family of 5. It is located in a beautiful, safe, leafy part of Palo Alto and it was really pleasant to walk from the apartment in any direction along tree-lined residential streets. It is an easy walk to supermarkets, bars, shops and the Caltrain station at Palo Alto. We took the Caltrain up to San Francisco several times which was straightforward and it was lovely to get back to the comfortable apartment after a day sightseeing.
The property was well equipped with everything we needed during our stay.

This is an amazing, tranquil oasis right in the middle of Palo Alto. My daughter was checking into her sophomore year at Stanford and we were so grateful to have such a comfy, homey place to come back to each day. Jacob was extremely helpful and attentive. The house is fully equipped with everything anyone could possibly need. We highly recommend this wonderful home and we look forward to returning soon. Thank you Jacob and Bettina!!!

Quiet and cozy
We really enjoyed our stay at the treehouse; it just as nice as the pictures on the website. The house is in a lovely and quiet neighborhood yet close to many restaurants.

Great place
Worth noting - this is the converted ground floor of a larger house (with separate entrance) - the owners may be above you if they are in town
That said, the owners are lovely, accomodating, understanding, and truly help you have a great time! The quality of the rooms, bedding, and everything is high. This is a great place!

Perfect downtown PA location
I couldn’t pick a better spot for my family to spend a week in downtown Palo Alto. Close enough to everything for a quick walk, but far enough away from the bustle that it was very quiet and peaceful. Also several parks and playgrounds nearby for my kids. Hosts were wonderful, very helpful and friendly. Will stay again!

Idyllic Autumn stay in Palo Alto
Jacob and Lisa surpassed their status of Superhosts - they 100 % ensured that we were comfortable and felt welcome. We stayed for almost a month and loved the neighborhood — easy walking access to University Ave, Stanford, Whole Foods etc. The apartment is bright and well appointed and the beds are super comfortable. We would highly recommend and look forward to a return visit.

Fabulous stay in Palo Alto!
Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) loved this quiet spot in Palo Alto! Everything about our trip was great - the lovely check in basket, the well stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and fabulous location. We enjoyed walking to get take out from local restaurants, groceries from Whole Foods and running in the neighborhood. Would definitely book again if we have occasion to be in the area!

Perfect home from home in Palo Alto
We really loved our stay. There is so much to mention, but here are just a few points: the owners welcomed us in person, walked us through the apartment, explained the neighbourhood and even gave running route suggestions, the location is ideal for morning coffee walks, long runs, work in the area or even walking to Stanford or the hospital, the rooms were cozy and really well-equipped, the details were gorgeous (decorations, details on the bedside table, dishes, magazines, gas fire-place). We didn't want to leave!

Beautifully furnished in a great location.
My family of five loved our stay at the Palo Alto Treehouse. The location is very convenient to downtown Palo Alto and to Stanford. The owners are very responsive and helpful. There was plenty of room for us including three children, two of whom are teenagers. The bedding was very comfortable and the furnishing as pictured.
We'd definitely stay again when our travels take us to Palo Alto!

Cozy Home Away From Home
My family had an enjoyable stay here while our own home in town was hosting an open house. The Treehouse is intimate and well-situated for a walk to downtown Palo Alto, one of our absolute favorite places! Jacob was super friendly and very responsive to any questions we had, although we unfortunately never had the chance to meet Lisa. The kitchen was well-stocked, the bedrooms were well-appointed, and we appreciated the use of the washer and dryer during our stay. Admittedly, there were times we could hear some noise from upstairs, and the living room windows looking right out onto the street took a little getting used to. However, those were small issues - we definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a convenient, comfortable place in the Palo Alto/Stanford area!

We just finished our 4 nt stay and loved it. The owners did a great job finishing the space and decorating it as well. Everything you need is in the rental or just a couple blocks away. The owners were very pleasant and wonderful hosts. Will definitely come back again for the location, the quality of the unit and the owners all made it an A+ for us.
