About this house rental
Enjoy the best of all worlds in this sunny, tranquil, waterfront seven room home.
This lakefront haven is situated just 4 miles from the Bourne Bridge and Cape Cod Canal…without the traffic! Located on the shores of Ezekiel Pond (3rd cleanest lake in MA) in South Plymouth by the Bourne and Wareham town lines, the home features three bedrooms (with a brand new queen mattress in the master), a kitchen, two dens (you can enjoy one den while the kids enjoy the other), a sunroom with dining table, one large bathroom, and an expansive deck overlooking the water and dock just 15 feet away. (Two bedrooms and 2nd den are in the finished walkout basement with windows, and the master bedroom is on the main floor where kitchen, bathroom den and sunporch are located).
Hardwood floors upstairs, ceramic tile downstairs, large kitchen with breakfast bar, and a bright open floor plan with plenty of windows and natural light. Complete with central air, gas grill, WiFi, and a new washer/dryer. The best feature of all is the large 26 ft long deck, which sits high among scattered trees and is just 12 ft from the shorefront. The back of the house is west facing, meaning it receives maximum sunshine and overlooks incredible sunsets on the water.
The peaceful, crystal clear, 36-acre, 24-foot deep lake is great for swimming, kayaking, fishing and is the third cleanest body of water in Massachusetts. The gradually sloping sandy lake bottom is great for children. There is also a beautiful sandy beach on the lake with picnic tables, available only to those staying on the pond. If you prefer the ocean, Scusset Beach State Reservation in Bourne is just a 15 minute drive. This home comes with a canoe and kayak, and there is a hammock waiting at the edge of the water.
Plenty of stores and restaurants just ten minutes away on Cranberry Highway, and a country store (Sandy Pond Campground) just a half mile from the home. Close proximity to Onset and Plymouth waterfronts/downtowns, with a wonderful selection of restaurants and bars. The house itself is located on a very quiet residential road.
Attractions within 5 miles of the cottage: biking and hiking through Miles Standish State Forest; golf courses including the Atlantic Country Club 1 mile away; Water Wizz water park; Buzzards Bay; the ocean at Scusset Beach; the Cape Cod Canal bike and walking paths.
Enjoy a family cookout followed by a beautiful sunset while relaxing on the deck after a day swimming, kayaking, walking nearby nature trails, or or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake and all the Plymouth area has to offer.
*Rentals are from Saturday to Saturday. Discount given on two week rental or more.

Excellent spot, quiet, great views of sunsets over the lake,Just a Great Spot!

I believe reviews are subjective to a person's expectations and standards. Here are some facts: The A/C downstairs does not work. The description states there is central air. True for the main level not the downstairs. There are 2 dehumidifiers downstairs. Both throw off heat and make it hotter than it already is when in use. It is very musty downstairs. One dehumidifier is connected to a pump to empty the water out the window. The pump does not work. The downstairs window areas are full of cobwebs and lots of dead and alive insects.
There is a sign that the tub is broken and to not use.
Water pump behind a bedroom wall is very loud.
There are notes stating to not leave the dryer unattended. Unsure what will happen if left unattended that wouldn't happen if attended, so we did not use the dryer.
The grill is rusty and dirty. We did not use the grill.
There is a note stating to keep the main door to the deck closed to keep the bugs out because they can come in the top of the screen. Yes, the top and sides of the screen door are ripped.
It is a great pond.

We had a really nice time staying at this property. The lake is very clean and perfect for swimming. The surrounding area has plenty to do. Onset Beach is beautiful and a great place to swim and look for little sea creatures. There are many hikes in the area as well as restaurants and beautiful views. The Knob hike in Falmouth was really pretty and you can go for a swim afterward. Main Street in Falmouth is near the hike and has many shops and restaurants. Plymouth is also a nice place to visit. We looked forward to coming back to the cottage each day for fishing, walking, and swimming. The view from the deck was a nice place to start and end our days.

We have stayed on Ezekiel Pond before, but did not experience the hospitality that Mike provided.
The location of the cottage provided a perfect breeze on hot days that didn’t need the use of A/C. The cottage had plenty of room for the four of us. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, & thankfully there were limited channels on the tv to watch. This made sure we played games, talked to each other, had laughs, & read books.
Speaking of books. Mike provided three of his books that he authored. At first, I was going to read one of my books when the family went to bed, but thankfully, I started to read one of his. When you have down time, read his books (I did not get paid to add this 😁).
The pond is clean, warm, & we enjoyed using the canoe and kayak on sight. I felt more confident in the canoe even about 50 yards from the dock because even if we capsized, the water would come up to my neck. Both of my kids loved being in the water. It was the perfect spot to play wiffle ball & had amazing views of the sunset. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We had the opportunity to meet one of the neighbors, Paul, & he made you feel like you been there for years.
When we were not at the cottage, we were close enough to travel the Cape. We went all the way to Provincetown & all the towns in between. We love Sandwich. Check out Cape Cod baseball games. Were close enough to Boston & went to Fenway.
Thank you Mike for your hospitality. We have memories that will last a lifetime.

Michael provides a very nice cottage on a pleasant pond where we have rented previously.
Hope we can do again !

A lovely home with all the necessities. The downstairs a/c did not work but the dehumidifiers did the job. The deck facing the pond was a favorite spot to sit, whether for meals, chats or reading. Beautiful view of the sunset as well. The pond was just cool enough to be refreshing and stayed shallow for a long time, which was great for kids. A hammock to lie on while feeling the breeze from the pond was delightful. Everyone who saw pictures was surprised to find it was in Plymouth, MA! So why only a 4/5 you ask? As a senior who is not so spry but still loves playing with the kids, I found it almost impossible to get out of the pond safely. There were rocks along the edge that were not very secure. The dock was too high to negotiate without having a ladder or steps of some sort. Without that issue it would have been perfect.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay last week. The cottage is sweet, plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 children. The shallow entry into the lake was excellent for 2 small non-swimmer kids! And the fishing right off the dock was a lot of fun for the adults. Kitchen well appointed. Location very convenient for all things "Cape Cod". We will definitely be back!

We loved the beautiful view of the lake, and it was in a nice quiet location. Michael the owner was incredibly nice. The first floor/basement was nice but musty, and one of the dehumidifiers needed constant emptying. This was a bit of a challenge for us as we are in our sixties.

Michael's place was a convenient spot for day trips to local attractions and museums, or just an afternoon on the Cape. The pond is beautiful and quiet, the perfect place to unwind. We had enough room for the whole family and the WiFi was excellent (since a few of us had work to complete). Michael was quick to respond and was a great host.

I needed a place for my family that consists of me, my commuting husband, busy 22 yo daughter, and 17 yo son. There was plenty of room and the kids had the whole downstairs, which included a den. My son had a friend stay one night and they enjoyed the canoe. I floated out front in the crystal clear water. My husband was able to commute to work and my parents came for the day to play cards on the rainy day we had. Mike was extremely attentive when I pointed out a broken board in the dock. He immediately informed his handyman who fixed it the next day. I was spoiled by having a washer and dryer. We went home with clean clothes! As for the reviewer who said it wasn’t big enough, I would suggest just bring your own linens next time so you don’t have to wash them all at once. Or have the kids use sleeping bags. It was such a low stress vacay because everything was provided. I’m rebooking for next year, for sure. Oh, as long as the hammock is still there. It was my favorite spot. We had coffee on the dock each day and played games on the deck under the beautiful umbrella. The grill was an added bonus. We did grocery pickup from nearby Stop and Shop so we could eat healthy food we grilled. Ideal for us. Thanks, Mike for the comfortable bed, too.

AC combined with the pond gave a welcome relief to the hottest week of the summer! Pond is great for kids. We enjoyed the biking paths at Myles Standish State Park and the Shining Sea on the Cape.
Nice location away from the crowds.

I made the mistake of overlooking the fact that this home is not professionally cleaned between visitors. I was stressed about cleaning once I got there (and there wasn’t even a mop bucket or scrub brush) and spent the week stressing about getting all the laundry done and everything cleaned before our departure. (The washer and dryer were small so you couldn’t fit much in at a time.) Overall, this home needs a really good deep clean, which other reviews mentioned. The cleaning issue was my oversight and Mike was quick to respond to my concerns about this.
The kitchen was nice, but was not well stocked (no measuring cups, whisk, only 4 bowls.)
There were only 4 wash cloths in the bathroom, (so that was a second trip to Walmart for us!) and the shower stall was small.
The lake was nice and my children enjoyed fishing and the canoes! Sunsets over the lake were beautiful!
Another review mentioned the pot smell. We experienced that one day and there was some young neighbor kid shouting profanities till we asked him to stop.
The dock no longer looks like the picture and it was difficult for me with an injured knee to get in and out of the lake since the rocks were not stable.
Ok, done complaining, it was a nice location overall.

Very nice property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nice seating areas overlooking the pond and of course the hammock, one of my favorite spots . Great sunsets !! The weather was hot and being able to take a dunk in the pond was a bonus. We would love to ret

My family and I just finished what we all agree was the best vacation we ever had. We visited Mike’s VRBO at the Ponds of Plymouth. This rental has everything that is needed for time away. It is close to all the world-class amenities and history of Plymouth, which there is a lot of. Fine dining is just a few miles away. While the best American history museums are within minutes. If you want the ocean, beaches and fishing are also so close.
After a day of sightseeing is complete, we relaxed with the beautiful sunset, which sets right in front of the deck. The sunset is simply extraordinary. You can also swim and kayak, as the owner provides kayaks and canoes. The fishing off the property is the best. My family caught 3 lbs bass (3 of them). We also caught several other large-mouthed basses, two small-mouthed and countless perch. At dusk, when the dragon and fireflies descend on the pond the fish jump almost non-stop for at least a half-hour and they bite on almost every cast.
The cottage is relaxing and welcoming. The kitchen has everything needed, the beds are comfortable and the place is clean and fresh. I hope to go back next year.

My husband and I had a great time at this cottage with our kids! It was a nice relaxing getaway, with very private beach area; secluded, but still close to restaurants and stores.

Although there are lots of other properties on Ezekiel Pond, our time there felt very private and secluded. We played in the water every day, took out the boats, listened to the birds and watched the hummingbirds at the feeder. Even though there is AC, we never turned it on because the house is well shaded and catches a lovely breeze. Close to stores and take out and beautiful hikes and beaches.

This is a good place. The pond is clean, shallow, and lovely to swim, kayak and canoe in. We saw jumping fish, dragonflies, red squirrels, chipmunks, hummingbirds and many other birds. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the water greatly, from sipping morning coffee to dinner on the grill to watching the sun set straight across the pond. The roomy, updated kitchen had what we needed to cook simple meals. We all found our beds comfortable, especially the one in the upstairs bedroom. The couch and chairs are also comfortable. The lower floor smelled musty when we arrived but running the a/c helped. There's a certain amount of family clutter around the place that is homey but a little dusty. The neighborhood is pretty densely settled, so you see and hear the neighbors and their lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and even dirt bikes from time to time. (That said, the neighbor we actually met was friendly and helpful.) There were too many loud motor boats for our taste on Sunday afternoon, but during the week it was 90% quiet and peaceful. We were the only ones on the pond in the canoe or kayak more than once. The air is good to breathe. Its nice and dark at night. We loved hiking at the nearby Wildlands Trust property Halfway Pond. Mike and Alison were communicative and welcoming. We left feeling renewed and relaxed, with good family memories behind us.

The property is very nice. The deck, sunroom and kitchen were great. Also, having a grill on the deck was very convenient. The neighbors provided an excellent fireworks display on the 4th. It is one of my favorite things. I would rent again.
2.0 / 10.0
This property has the potential of being a great vacation spot but the neighbors to the left are obnoxious pot heads that put a huge damper on our vacation. The rental needs a deep cleaning which includes the 3 years of dust ignored. They need to get an exterminator to rid the basement of mice and they also need to provide adequate linens if "linens provided" continues to be advertised. Also, new kitchen pots/pans might be useful not providing ones that should have been discarded ages ago. Also if the property owner is aware of the delinquent living to the left of him he should make sure his property is secured rather than suggesting renters have damaged items of property during their stay. In my personal & professional opinion if you list as "family friendly" for your rental you need to ensure your rentals surroundings are also completely family friendly. Thank you!

We pulled in on Saturday to such a perfect week!!! The house was clean upon arrival all ready for us. Close enough to everything we wanted to enjoy. Would definitely stay there again!!!!!!

We approached our new vacation spot with a bit of hesitation after hitting a dirt road just before getting there. However, we soon realized that the road was a perfect transition to the relaxation spot we had been looking for. With the rustic feel of an escape home, the 3 bedroom house allowed for my wife & I to take over the master bedroom. The main floor also included a sizable kitchen, living room and a 4 season porch/ game room whose many windows allowed for a palatial view of the lake. Our young adult children went downstairs to find 2 bedrooms with a separate living area which allowed for their own space. This is the first time my wife & I were able to find a comfortable, well laid out vacation home with central A/C ( A need for me due to severe asthma). Stepping out from the porch will bring you onto a large deck with summer chairs, table and grill, bringing you even closer to Lake Ezekiel. We brought home many memories and stories of our adventures on the lake in the supplied canoes and kayak. Thank you to Mike & Allison for allowing our family to take part in such a special place!

Quiet neighborhood and beautiful kitchen leading to a four season porch and a great deck looking out over the water - great sunsets! Swimming is great in the pond and it gradually gets deep, so perfect for the kids to play under your watchful eye from the deck. Good bass fishing on the pond and just minutes to many Cape Cod beaches. we loved having a salt water day and then coming back to play in the freshwater pond. Thanks for a great stay!
