This property is in a beautiful location with stunning views out over Poole harbour. With extensive outside space perfect for a family gathering.

We chose this property for the location near to a wedding. The view and property itself were lovely but there was a lot to be improved upon . Small things really ,to bring this place up to an acceptable standard.
Between the windows in every room there were a lot of dead insects, cobwebs etc and they had been neglected for a long time.
Damp on the kitchen wall with flaked paint on the work surfaces.
The downstairs rooms were OK with the exception of the main sitting room which smelled very badly of damp/mildew.
The main bedroom has a large upholstered headboard which had dust clumps along the top , the bedlinen was very shabby .Two tiny thin cheap towels per person was inadequate . Under the bed was fuzzy with dust and pretty grim.
The main bathroom window was broken there was no seal on the shower so water leaked on the floor , a hopeless wooden bathmat was provided and it was not safe for the more elderly in our party.
Some of the beds were very comfortable but in two rooms the beds were very very squeaky!
The cheapest possible garden benches were plonked in the garden and in a property such as this there really should be something better ( again these benches are not suitable for older people) Sunloungers were promised but nowhere to be found.
The main issue outside was the huge amount of broken glass, directly outside on the lawn and in the swing area. There were also a lot of cigarette ends strewn about the place.
A bossy notice saying that guests would be charged extra for not cleaning the barbecue was fair enough but no cleaning brush or barbecue specific cleaning materials were anywhere to be found ...
Another little thing which would be so easy to remedy was that the cheapest possible hand soap was provided in slightly grubby pump dispensers .
We had a lovely stay in spite of these small issues but this should be a luxury holiday cottage and the only luxury was the view .

Magical location to see the New Year in with friends
10/10. Incredible location. Exceptional welcome basket on arrival. Only thing to note is spacing out showers if large numbers of guests are staying to give the immersion tank a break.
We will be back soon!

Stunning Location!
I booked this property with a group of friends because of it's fabulous location. I already knew the area well and it did not disappoint! We took along a few paddles boards and enjoyed being able to get straight out onto the water in the early morning mist, sit around the fire pit in the evening and enjoy the local walks. The house itself is old and full of character with plenty of room for a large group.

Tranquility
Location: paradise
Cleanliness: could do with a good clean, under beds, for example
Kitchen: well stocked but missing garlic press and vegetable scraper
Garden: gorgeous but the garden furniture an embarrassment and really took away from the cosiness and homely feel of the cottage both outside and inside. Would highly recommend this retreat, it is a unique property providing a tranquil bolt hole from the rat race, a gem.

Special family time
Our family had a wonderful stay at Ower Quay Cottage and rarely left the property during their stay.
It's rare to find a house in such a beautiful location. Even though we know the Isle of Purbeck well and have our own house near Church Knowle this was a new discovery.
The house is vey well equipped and very comfortable inside.
We all enjoyed spending time outside, on the grass and beach and watching spectacular sunsets.
Unfortunately the outdoor equipment and furniture could do with replacing as one of the benches is cracked, fire pit on the way out, and the gas BBQ very temperamental.
I'm an avid gardener/garden designer and would love to give the garden the care it needs.

unique holiday house
We all (from 8 to 81) had a wonderful holiday. The children could safely run free outside and enjoy the swings, beach, climbing trees etc. The adults marveled at the beautiful outside space and were very comfortable inside too. The shallow water was ideal for the inflatable boats we took and the fire pit was great, especially when there were fireworks in Poole.
Wild life was constantly interesting. I feel grateful that such a place has survived!
Thank you Emma

Peaceful getaway
Ower cottage is quite possibly the most beautiful place to stay in for a tranquil relaxing break. The views from the garden/ beach are magical. From watching the tides go in and out to observing the birds. The beach and garden are perfect for children to play in. Close by there is Studland beach, Corfe Castle and Swanage which offers lots for children to do. Or simply just walk out of the house across the heathlands and don’t take the car. The walks are beautiful.
The house itself is stunning. We had a party of ten and there was more than ample space, with the children occupying one sitting room setting up camp.
The welcome basket was the best we have ever been given, especially the home made apple cake! Emma the host was very helpful and made sure we had everything we wanted.
We will most certainly return.

Perfect setting for a weekend with friends
8 of us rented the cottage for a weekend in September. It is in an isolated position with a beautiful view over Poole Harbour. There is a good variety of walks from the property (we walked to Studland and back for a pub lunch) and it is only a short drive to pubs/restaurants within the area. The cottage is fully equipped and due to the layout it feels very spacious. The outside space is ideal for al fresco dining.
We would thoroughly recommend this property.

Perfect family holiday location
An absolutely stunning waterfront location. Ten of us, six adults and four children, had a fantastic family holiday. The garden with swings, barbeque and tree house etc and the private beach made it a magical time for the kids especially - one day they preferred to stay at the house to play rather than go to the Studland beaches. The house is very well equipped and it has that lovely "comfortable" feel. It was great for hide and seek on the day it rained! It is very much off the beaten track so be prepared for peace and quiet (if the kids allow it). Thanks to Laura and James, the owners for providing such a perfect holiday retreat. Oh, and the Dorset apple cake upon arrival was also very welcome too! Cannot wait for our next visit.

The Pictures Dont Come Close To How Amazing It Really Is 😍❤
Booked this property for me and my family to stay for the easter break and was absolutely amazing. Great directions to get to the cottage and very secure. Greeted at the door with two smiling faces again amazing - pamper basket and amazing dorset apple pie!!! The house is very homely and very child freindly, the pictures dont come close to how amazing the place is, every room and every view from every window.Even the bed sheets and towels smelt fresh and clean (big big thing for us).Cant fault one thing about our stay here or the holiday as a whole. Perfect in every way. Im sure we will defo look to stay here again.
Thank you again - was just amazing xxx

Couldn't have asked for a nicer spot
This property is maintained to a very high standard. All 5 bedrooms were beautiful with very comfortable beds, kitchen has everything you need for cooking for 12 at home and the fires are so nice on cold nights. Towels, bed linen are all provided, as well as a welcome hamper to get you started with eggs, milk, biscuits etc.
We came on Easter weekend and they had some nice little Easter touches like an Easter wreath and decorations. The surroundings are also a great place for an Easter egg hunt!!
I would definitely recommend this place to friends.

Away from it all
A weekend away for a party of 11, ages 73 down to 20 months. The children loved having to drive through 3 gates to get to it, and immediately claimed one sitting room as their own. We kayaked and rowed, wandered the grounds and the shore and had a lovely afternoon on Studland. Morning coffee in the garden (apple cake supplied in our welcome basket); delicious suppers rustled up by the dads in the well equipped kitchen. Plenty of room for all of us to pursue our chosen activities and a warm welcome - thank you Laura's husband for making sure the Waitrose man got through!
We hope to return for a longer stay in the near future

Wonderful house, perfect location.
We had a great welcome with homemade Dorset apple cake and friendly greetings from James. The instructions for getting to the house were clear. This was helpful as part of its beauty was the rather remote location. This is one of the best equipped properties we have ever stayed in. There were nine of us and it was a pleasure to cook in the kitchen and eat in the big comfortable dinning room. Everyone spent time in the garden watching the wild life and the ever changing estuary . We highly recommend Ower Quay Cottage.

Stunning! One of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed
Some friends and I spent a weekend here in May. I completely agree with the review below this, the pictures do not do it justice or catch the extent of the beauty of Ower Quay Cottage. The house itself is beautiful and full of character, whilst providing everything you need. The location is simply amazing. Waking up every morning to the sunrise across Poole Harbour, watching the local wildlife around us was a highlight. Equally, sitting around the firepit as the sun set over the bay with a glass of wine was also a wonderful and memorable experience. Thank you to Emma and Laura who were so efficient and who made us feel so welcome. We hope to stay again next year.

The pictures don't do it justice!
Stayed at the cottage with a group of friends for a weekend. The photos don't even come close to showing how amazing the house is. In the middle of nowhere with great views and the sea in your back garden. Couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. Hosts were so helpful with any questions we had and even left us a welcome hamper. We were very fortunate with the weather as it was perfect for BBQs and being in the garden. Amazing venue.
