The sun worshippers in your group will be in heaven on the expansive second-story deck that runs the length of the house. Under this area are both a covered porch (perfect for rocking or napping) and a screened porch.
Inside, the light-filled, two-story sitting area is accentuated by soaring ceilings and warm hardwoods. Nearby, the open floorplan's dining area comfortably seats eight at its table and is adjacent to the breakfast bar. Just beyond, the chef's kitchen cooks with stainless appliances, plenty of counter prep space, a farm sink and a wine cooler. It even boasts water views on two sides!
The bright King Owner suite, located on this level, features a four-poster King bed and private porch access as well as an unbeatable view of the Atlantic. The private full bath affords a deep, jetted sunken Jacuzzi and a spacious tiled shower with bench seating.
There are three additional bedrooms upstairs. One is a Queen suite with its own full bath, private sitting room and deck access. The second Queen bedroom also features private deck access. This was a our third summer in a row on the island and the best one yet - we loved A Soft Landing and found it to be very comfortable and well suited for our family. The back deck, beach access and screened in dining space were particular highlights. The only significant issue we had with our stay were the golf carts. The four seater cart only had two seatbelts - one for the driver and one in the back, which made it nearly unusable for us as we had two small children with us who had to be buckled in at all times. The six seater cart was very slow and also the battery, even when fully charged overnight, wouldn't last more than an hour before the light came on, causing us to have to return home from our outings when we had intended to stay out. We really want to return next year and rent this home again but would have a difficult time doing so if the golf cart issue isn't resolved. It is the only reason I gave four stars below. Otherwise this is a special spot which we were grateful to call home!

We are longtime renters of “A Soft Landing.” It has been a while since we have rented it and the changes they have made are very nice. The interior has always been lovely, but the updated look is especially nice. It distinguishes itself by the lovely, professionally designed interior. The new golf carts are so very appreciated as well. Finally, I don’t know what is responsible for the better temperature in the primary bedroom, but sleeping there was so comfortable. The bedding and pillows were very comfortable. In fact, I slept better there than I do at home! Finally, this was the cleanest we have ever found the property. The cleaners did an excellent job.

The home is very inviting, and has some of the most incredible light and views, especially on the top deck. Love all of the natural light. The home is pretty well equipped with bikes, two golf carts, and very spacious bedrooms. So great to be able to walk out to the beach, straight from the back deck, The lounge chairs were a nice inviting, touch. The home needs a couple small improvements (TVs, Roku, toilets, cabinets, cart maintenance, hot water heater, broken window) but 9 out of 10 for a rental. We will definitely stay here again and we thank wwp for always making our stay special!

This is the second time we have stayed at "A Soft Landing." The location cannot be beat with the beach a short walk away. Gorgeous sunset views and a beautiful back porch and deck for lounging. Nicely appointed property , especially the deck furniture and screened in porch for dinners accompanied by the sound of the waves. The property was slightly less clean and ship-shape as it was the first time we rented. The kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, it just felt as though the floor - especially the pretty tile floor - hadn't had a good scrub in a while. The back door handle was constantly falling off and a stripped screw made it impossible to fix. In addition, the coffee pot was severely cracked and unusable. There was a backup pod coffee maker, but we would have preferred to make a pot of coffee in the morning. All in all, we love this property and would rent it again and again.The bedrooms are perfect for a family or two and the beds and linens are all very nice. I think it just needed a better pre-arrival floor cleaning and attention to the details.

We have vacationed on BHI for many years, and this is our favorite rental. In addition to a beautifully decorated home filled with the homeowner’s artwork, the location was outstanding and the home’s cleanliness exceeded our expectations. It is the little touches,however, that were just as impressive - from the filled rotating spice rack in the kitchen filled with every spice you could possibly need to the upstairs coffee station with a Keurig and a mini fridge so that you didn’t even need to come downstairs for your morning coffee, it was obvious that the homeowners put a lot of thought into making their home a special place. A 5 star rental for sure.

We had a fabulous week!! Love being on the beach! There was a storm one evening and we sat on that wonderful porch and watched God show off for hours. It was amazing! The kitchen is well stocked and there is a huge kitchen table where we had wonderful meals at night. We had a few issues with the golf carts. Wendy Wilmonts staff was very attentive and had it fixed promptly. The location of this house is great. It is on the middle of the island so accessing East beach, the market, and the ferry was very convenient. We ate out a few times and we’re not impressed with the quality or price of our meals. We have been coming to BHI for 15 years and the inflation was quite evident. I will bring more food from home next year. Overall, I highly recommend A Soft Landing!!

Good space. However, many things lacking for what would be expected in a 10,000$ rental. Kitchen appliances and dishes etc are very haphazard and unorganized. Many dirty. Only 7 forks supplied. Need a full silverware count. TVs worked ok but were basic and sound was poor especially in the main living area. Water pressure was very low and water temperature was Luke warm for showers. Reports there were beach chairs, boogie boards and beach toys in listing. But on arrival only two beach chairs were not ripped at the seat. Boogie boards only one was useful the other was coming apart on the edges and cord was broken off. No beach or sand toys. I filled out a request on our first day to ask for additional beach items and no one responded. Dishwasher did not clean well even with pre cleaning the dishes in sink and we used the heavy clean setting. Washer would stop halfway through the cycle and then you hard to restart it. Overall a good location and good space in the house but would not rent again due to inside amenities lacking. This rental needs some help inside.

We love the renovations the new owners have made to the property and, best of all, the new golf carts. That was long overdue! With that said, we arrived a full hour after check-in and they were still cleaning the house upon our arrival and continued cleaning for another 45 minutes after we arrived. Several light bulbs were out. My husband had to transfer a bulb from one of the bedrooms to the master bathroom. The light at the entry has a couple of bulbs out. The bath mat outside the master shower was soaking wet. We had to wash it immediately upon putting our suitcases down. Also, the beach access walkway had plants growing up through it. There was a deflated balloon in the kitchen/dining area. It seemed since the cleaning crew was short handed that the cleanliness wasn’t what it normally is.

Hi. This was our 2nd year in a row in the same home.We love the location. Layout is also excellent. I do think that the interior needs a refresh. The salt water has beaten many of the handles etc. In fact one broke right off. The stove needs to be repaired. The left burner does not work. The new carts are great. Big addition. Same for the living room furniture. Maybe a fresh-up would be a great addition. We may rent it again, as the family likes it. But will also look around. The location is a major benefit.

This was our 7th season on the Island. Still a special place. The house location is fantastic. It needs some repair. The dishwasher is not actually fixed to the counter.The new oven and microwave are nice, and the refrig needs updating. The fact that the home has excellent wifi, and an added bonus of movie channels was a plus. The front door needs some repair as does the deck doors just because of the impact of the salt air. The carts should be retired. We understand that the owner has ordered a new 6 passenger cart That is good as we had to get a loaner one. Wendy and her team were very professional and responsive. Overall we really loved the location. Great view. Deck is a great place to hang out and the grill is brand new. So we would definitely rent it again. One other note....the air flow into the bedrooms is not right. They get warm. Even keeping the temp as indicated between 72-75 was not working properly. Some had to use fans in the rooms to coll them down. They probably hit 80. They need upgraded A/C or cieling fans or the vents need cleaning.

We had nine people in our rental and one of our golf cart batteries died with three days left in our week. The property manager was very prompt coming to take the old battery away to be fixed but no replacement cart or battery was provided. It completely crippled us and we couldn't go anywhere together because we couldn't all fit in the six seater. This is a problem because our contract said we would be provided a six and a four seater cart. We would like to discuss this with you. Also, there were several necessary hints missing from the house or not working properly. We think it would be beneficial for you to know those things for future renters. Property management company was very professional, greeted us upon arrival and sent staff immediately when we had a flat tire on one of our golf carts. However since the property is for sale the owners had rearranged or taken away some of the furnishings (crib, some seating in living room, beach towels) which we had counted on from years past. Given the price increase this was a bit disappointing.

Some things happened while we were there, but some were pre-existing conditions and it would have been more professional to tell us upon check-in versus leaving us to find the dryer not working after washing our clothes and then not knowing what to do with them. Still a great house and a great time!
