We live in Florida, this is our Dublin home. We visit it every year. It is a modern flat (built in 2006) in a very well maintained building. We are 2 blocks from the entrance to Trinity College and you can walk to every major attraction in central Dublin from our flat. The building is located on a side street between Pearse Street and Townsend Street and boasts a roof garden which has views over the rooftops of much of Dublin.
You enter into a marbled floor 'T' shaped entrance way which, with its 2.6 metre (8.5 feet) ceilings, feels very spacious. All rooms are accessed via this entryway. There are 2 good size bedrooms. The master bedroom has an extremely comfortable USA king size bed with ample wardrobe and drawer space. It also has its own patio. The master bathroom (en suite) is quite large with a shower, toilet and wash basin. The second bedroom (quite large for a European second bedroom) has two large very comfortable single beds and ample wardrobe space. Upon request, these beds can be locked together and, with a topper, provide a second USA king size bed. There is a 35 Euro charge for this. The bedroom has access to a second patio. The second bathroom has a bathtub/shower combination and is also quite spacious. The living room has a 32” LED flat screen TV, a Blu-ray DVD player and a stereo system. A comfortable sofa and an additional chair provides seating for 4 people. There is access to the second patio. The dining area, with its leather chairs, accommodates 5 people. The kitchen is fully equipped to serve 6 people. It is a 'Bosch' kitchen with an electric oven, stove top and microwave oven. There is a powerful extraction fan over the stove top. The large frost free refrigerator and the dishwasher are 'built in'. There is a separate laundry room with a Miele washer and Meile dryer.
There is free, high speed internet service for your ipads and laptops. SKY satellite TV delivers over 100 channels, several of which are international.
The 'fifth' person is accommodated via an air mattress in the living room at an extra charge of 65 Euro per visit..
The flat is located on the first floor (second by North American definition) of the building. There is a lift (elevator). An intercom service from the flat to the front door allows for remote door opening.
The Luas (tram) service (both the 'red' and the 'green' lines) are a 10 minute walk from the flat. The Dart train station is 2 minutes away. There are several pubs and restaurants within a 2 block walk of the flat and many more within a 4 block walk. Trinity College (home of the book of Kells) and Temple Bar (pubs) are a 5 minute walk. Grafton Street (shopping) and St Stephen's Green are a 10 minute walk. A 15 - 20 minute walk will get you to the Dublin Castle, St Patrick's Cathedral, Christchurch Cathedral and the GPO building (famous for the 1916 rising). The Garden of Remembrance and the Guinness Factory are a 30 - 35 minutes walk.
There is a large Tesco supermarket in Temple Bar - 4 blocks away and smaller supermarkets closer.
If you plan on renting a car to see the countryside (you do NOT want one in Dublin), please ask us for our recommendations. We also have a parking space in the basement, this may be available at a 12 Euro per day extra charge, should you bring your car into the city.

The flat is centrally located. We were able to walk to all the major sites and attractions. David was extremely easy to communicate with and the flat instruction book was the most comprehensive I have ever seen. I would definitely recommend the flat to anyone who wishes to stay in city center.

Nice accommodations.
Very busy bus and train activity.
Close to shopping.

The flat is very close to Trinity College, and public transportation. The description of the property fails to mention that one of the city's train lines goes by across the street from the flat, and city buses park for the night below the flat so it can be noisy as any city can be depending on location. If you are a country person or sensitive to louder periods outside then this might not be the flat for you, however, if you are a city person, you'll be fine. The interior of the flat is as described and well stocked with towels and linens. We stayed for over a week and had no issues with the included amenities. There is parking available at a cost, but the spot is very tight as it is between a wall and piping work, just keep that in mind when renting a vehicle. We were four adults staying in the flat and the majority of us would recommend staying no longer than a few days due to the noise level or wear earplugs at night.

The property itself was very clean except for a few areas. Very spacious and well equipped, location was great also for our needs. I would say communication was very clunky at best. Once you book on VRBO your directed to

Really nice, clean place. It was a little confusing how to get the keys but it worked out just fine so it wasn’t a big deal. I had no phone access so trying to get on the wifi to text someone I was coming from the airport wifi was a little confusing, but it worked out. In the future I would probably just make sure I paid for my phone to work so it wouldn’t be so stressful! I had a party of 3, and I am a night showerer. There was a note that there was limited hot water in the evening but I had no problems! Everything was fin, a very convenient location, easy to walk to Trinity College and Temple Bar every day (maybe 10 minute walk, very easy). Also very close to the train to go outside Dublin, and very close walk to Molly Malone statue (where we took bus trips outside of Dublin). Great place! Would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay. I think I have never been in such a well equipped kitchen in a holiday appartment. The flat is nice, clean, simply delightful!

Perfectly located by everything while on a quiet street. This place is close to two pubs with great food and around the corner from a bakery that has the best pastries. The unit is a quick walk to Temple Bar, a grocery, and any spot worth visiting, but the best part is it’s not swamped with tourists so you get some privacy. It is also very clean and well kept. It comes complete with modern appliances, washer and dryer (separate machines and the dryer dries well, which is rare), and overall very spacious.
If you are touring further away, highly recommend using public transportation as you can literally go anywhere in Ireland without a car. The unit is close to Dart (train) and several bus lines. You can even take an express bus to/from the airport for 7€.

My daughter an I loves this special little slice of heaven. 2 good sized bedrooms and full bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, TV (didn’t use), stereo, WiFi, balconies! All at a GREAT price! Very close to pubs, restaurants, shopping, attractions - all the things. Owner was very easy to work with and easy to communicate with. Check-in and check-out instructions were easy to follow.

Very easy access flat, close to many city sites for walking or getting a taxi. Had everything we needed for our last weekend in Ireland. We made it for dinner our last night to O’Neill’s Victorian pub down the street and had a wonderful meal.
Thanks so much

Really nice and comfortable flat in a great location, almost all the sites in Dublin are within walking distance.
There is a railway very near to the flat but it didn't affect us in anyway as it doesn't run overnight.

The Hyde Court apartment was ideal for our 21-day stay in Dublin in July. Mr. Plummer was a cooperative and pleasant host. The apartment was a half-block north of Trinity College in the center of the city and within walking distance of most of Dublin's primary tourist attractions, including the city's main bus and railway stations. It was clean and well appointed. The television and other appliances/services worked perfectly. The neighborhood was a bit noisy due to ongoing construction, but quieted down at night. My wife and I are experienced travelers in Europe and we would place Hyde Court at the top of the list of our previous stays in England, France and other countries. David S. Awbrey

The flat was very convenient and easy to find. Very near the centre (just a few yards from Trinity College) and near public transport (but see below). The flat is one of the best equipped we have stayed in - all facilities available and easy to use. Only (small) downside was the DART railway line which runs past the window until quite late. Very convenient when you want to use it though! Small tip for anyone coming from UK via the Irish ferry (an easy trip BTW) - get on the Nolan bus at the ferry terminal. This goes to Georges Quay which is literally round the corner from the flat. Ignore the drivers, some of whom don't appear to know where they're going!

Our stay was excellent. The property was perfectly located. The apartment was clean, everything we needed was provided. There even was a manual detailing how to use everything which was very helpful.

Couldn’t have asked for a better location. Walkable everywhere in City Centre and in the middle of two Dart stops with the LUAS a few blocks away. Very responsive host and comfortable roomy space.

It was a great two bedroom two bathroom apartment and perfect for the three of us. The master bedroom had a nice king size bed, and the second bedroom had two twin beds. There was a nice full bathroom in there, Astor bedroom, and a second full bathroom in the hallway.

Hyde Court was a fantastic little find on VRBO. We thought we would take a chance staying in the city! Because we normally don't rent a car, we tend to use a Visitors LEAP card to get around. This location was positioned within just a short walk from two centrally located DART stations, and within a walkable distance to O'Connell Street, Trinity College and Grafton Streets and of course to the famous Temple Bar district. The unit itself was well appointed with comfortable beds, and two bathrooms. The kitchen had everything you need to either heat up a take-away to preparing a full meal and all in good working order. The furniture was comfortable and a great after a long day out. The balconies were a nice touch. With the rails located just meters away from the flat, it was surprisingly quiet. We certainly would stay here again!

This apartment is perfect if you want to be within walking distance to everything, but without being in the middle of all the noise. It’s an easy walk to Grafton Street, The Castle, etc. We even walked to the Guinness Factory. There is a train directly across the street, but it doesn’t run through the night, so it didn’t affect our sleep. It was very nice to have a nice kitchen, the beds are comfortable, and the balconies were a nice place to relax. We enjoyed our stay very much.

This apartment was in a great spot to explore Temple Bar, Trinity College, and sights along the River Liffey, all within just a few blocks. We appreciated having comfortable beds, two bathrooms, and a nice washer/dryer. Lots of helpful information and recommendations from the owner.

10/10 stay
My sister and I had THE BEST time in Dublin and a big part of it was to do with the accomodation. It’s location is perfect, had all necessary kitchen items & a book with clear instructions for any queries (which was very helpful). Watching the sun go down from the living room with the trains going past was one of our favourite things. Will definitely be back in the future with family/friends.

Dublin short stay
We stayed in David's apartment for 3 nights in early December. From the initial contact, right through the booking process and key pick up David was a pleasure to deal with and sent the most comprehensive "how -to" instructions that we have ever received through VRBO.
The apartment is exceptionally well located within a short walk of St Stephen's Green, O'Connell St, Temple Bar and Dublin Castle. We walked all over Dublin during the three days we were there and never needed to use public transport or taxis.
The two bedrooms and two bathrooms were perfect for the 3 of us, and would still be ideal for 4. The bedding and towels were of a good quality and the beds were very comfortable.
There is seating for 4 in the living room along with a tv and dvd player and the attached kitchen though small is well appointed with all the necessities and a dining table.
We read some comments regarding the trains before we booked. During the 3 nights we were there while we were aware of the trains they were not an issue for us and don't run during the early hours.
There are plenty of guide books in the apartment and the "apartment book" provides many great suggestions.
We had breakfast around the corner on Pearse St at the Paella Bar which was great and had a dinner at O'Neills Victorian Pub which is a stone's throw from the apartment, and has wonderful food and a tremendous atmosphere.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at David's apartment and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Central Dublin. We believe it is excellent value for money.

Great location! Super clean!
Very clean apartment right next to Trinity College. The bus lines are close by and a short walk to Temple Bar and many other places. We would definitely stay here again! The host has very complete directions on getting to the apartment and how everything in it works. Read the book, it's in there! :)

The apartment was wonderful. Its in a great location and we were able to walk to so many sites in Dublin. The apartment was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped for us to cook & eat in, and there is a wonderful bakery on the same block. We would definitely recommend it. Thank you for a terrific place to stay while we were in Dublin!

Overall favorable
Overall, it was an extremely comfortable apartment. Definitely had the most comfortable mattresses in our three weeks travels in Ireland. Although we never really cooked, the kitchen was full, and we appreciated the washing machine and dryer.
The location was a close walk to most sites.
The cons were:
The flat faces a raised train track, with very noisy trains going by regularly day and night.
Check-in was difficult. Our key was not left in the assigned place, and the manager’s phone was turned off. With the help of local people in the deli, we finally reached the manager’s husband, who then came by to let us in/leave our luggage, and clean. Perhaps there was confusion with the on-site manager about when we were to arrive. The staff in the deli key pick-up site said the key is always left with them the night before, and this was unusual. This might also explain why the flat was hastily cleaned and towels left wet in the dryer. There was no soap provided for showering.
Despite the above criticisms, I would still recommend this flat.

Clean comfortable convenient flat
Great flat for a family of 4. Near to Trinity and walking distance to Temple Bar area. There is an overhead train close to flat but we didn’t notice it after the first day. Owner David very helpful.

I stayed at David’s place with my three children. We had a wonderful week
I was travelling alone with my three kids and rented David’s apartment for a week in Dublin. The information that he provided at the time I made the payment was extremely helpful. Because I don’t remember details of everything told to me, it was helpful to be able to review the emailed handbook. David was also kind enough to answer all my repeated questions. And also my concern about the neighborhood safety as a lot of our friends who are Irish had told me to be careful and that it can be a bit unsafe in Dublin. It was a pretty safe neighborhood. There is a police station nearby. I never felt unsafe walking around. Granted we were usually home by maximum 8 or 9 pm and it didn’t get dark until 10pm. There is no tattoo place underneath the apartment anymore. I just saw a crèche. Lots of cafes and places to eat nearby. Close to all the major shopping areas. The DART train noise was not bothersome to us as you could hardly hear it if the windows were closed. We had the patio doors open during the day as temperatures were in the 80sF and that’s when you could hear it but it’s a pretty quiet street during the day and particularly in the evenings and night.
The key collection and return were hassle free. I messaged the cleaning lady Maria and her daughter was downstairs waiting for me to hand me the key. I was able to drop off my bags earlier as I had to go pick up the kids from their camp drop off. The appliances all worked well.
I would be happy to stay here again if we are back in Dublin.
I also used the car service that is recommended in the black folder. Like the others I found the gentleman picking us up extremely polite and friendly. I had sent the kids down with their bags while I did the final walk through and he had the bags all loaded and them sitting in the van out of the drizzle.

Enjoyable Dublin Visit
This flat is in a great location if you’d like to access city centre and the key tourist sites by foot. The space is comfortable and clean, and it worked well for a family of 4. We enjoyed the flat and our visit a great deal!

Great location
The very central location (10 min walking distance to the centre of the city) comfortable beds and the two bathrooms were great!
The help book provided on the apartment was very useful too. The outlook and close proximity to the train line was not not so good for us though. We were aware of the train line prior to booking but didn’t realise it was right beside the building and the apartment looks straight into the rail bridge. Unfortunately the block next door had drilling going all day as there is a large building under construction. This is obviously out of the owners control but something to be aware of if you are looking for a quiet place to stay. The local pub on the corner was great and Bread 41 around the corner was fantastic for breakfast, pastries and coffees.

Great spot in Dublin
This apartment was very comfortable and well-appointed. It is conveniently located within walking distance of most Dublin sights. Our communication with the owner was easy, timely and very informative. The 2 bathroom/ 2 bedroom plan was desirable and worked very well for us. We were 6 days in Dublin and it was great to have a roomy, relaxing place to call “home”.
