The house was lovely, clean, and was exactly as pictured. The huge kitchen was definitely an asset. The best part for the kids was the pool. The only negative was the mosquitos were horrible in the afternoon and early evening.

Amazing property with private pool and dock (large crabs were caught) but if you plan on cooking them you’ll need a bigger pot

The good points of the home:
- private pool is awesome. It’s not heated but that didn’t bother the kids. Nice to have pool towels provided.
- sheets and towels come with the rental
- tp and pt came with the rental
- close to shopping and restaurants
- quiet neighborhood
Areas of improvement:
- the AC does not work , like at all. Luckily we were there Memorial Day so the outside temp wasn’t too high but it was cooler outside than in. I had to run out and purchase fans. The owner didn’t seem surprised by this or all that concerned.
- bath towels are tiny
- not enough tp was supplied for long weekend with 5 people using the bathrooms. Had to go purchase some.
- not everything in the description of the home was true to life

Nice place and neighborhood

Doug’s place was exactly as described. It’s like a little oasis. The outdoor space was perfect. We floated in the pool, relaxed by the fire pit, grilled up some local seafood on the grill, and enjoyed meals out on the deck.
The area was clean and everything functioned as it should. Doug was very friendly, responsive and accommodating. I was so impressed with his swift responses.
The beds and pillows were very comfy. And the living space was clean and comfortable as well. This house was the perfect stay for Mother’s Day weekend. Even Luna the dog loved it.
Met some friendly neighbors as the were floating past us on the canal.
We even got to see some fun wildlife including great horned owl that visited us the first night.

My experiences at this property is absolutely wonderful this is my 2nd stay here.

The house is nicely laid out, pool is nice to have. There were not enough sheets for the beds, blankets/comforters missing from
almost every bed, ants in kitchen, dishwasher had dirty dishes in it, garbage full with recycling and garbage mixed in from previous renter. The cleaning crew did NOT clean the toilets. It was quite disgusting!!! Generally speaking the cleaning was not good. Dog hair all over the couch. The neighbors are not fans of renters. Apparently the house was a big party house and pissed off the whole neighborhood. Oh. And a leftover cake was in the freezer. Not worth what I paid !!!! Will not rent again.

Enjoyed the stay very much. Not much wrong to talk about

We just stayed for the 3rd year. The house is great for 4-6 people. The pool is definitely the highlight. Also, my boys love crabbing and fishing off the dock. They don't catch much but fills the time. Beach/San area with chairs if also great. Make sure you bring bug spray, though, because the mosquitoes are vicious in the afternoon/eve. The only non ideal thing is the TV. It is a Roku (?) system and we've yet to really figure out how to watch what we want. The owner is great to work with and very responsive.

House is fantastic for spending time with family and friends. The pool, fire pit, and decks allow for great gathering places outside with canal out back ( even caught a few crabs) and open kitchen/ family room for hanging out indoors and making meals. Even my dog loved laying on the deck and watching the ducks swim in the canal. Very close to beach/ boardwalk and restaurants/ shops, while also being removed from the crowds. We will definitely be making this VRBO a regular stay!

Property is designed and decorated to be a true getaway. Everywhere you look you are reminded to relax. We will definitely be returning again.

Check in was easy, the place was not clean. Comforters dirty. We walked into wet clothes in the dryer, a full load of dishes in the dishwasher to put away on our off season $4k for 10 days.
Stains on rugs, couch. Kitchen is ill equipped. 4 mugs, just large plates, no small bowls/plates . 2 wine glasses. The cookware was so disgusting it had flakes falling off it. No knifes that work. This is NOT a working kitchen. In your invite PDF, tje grille is “tricky” NO it’s not tricky, it does not work. Two burners at best work, and you’ll need to buy your own thermometer as they don’t have one and the grille is does not actually work.
SO, we end up buying cookware/knives from home goods to get buy.
No dish drain… so you Jane to run the dishwasher for. I reason because they do t stock the house wotj what they should at this price point.
This is a definite skip until they make the proper changes.
Oh.. I failed to mention. When it rains, it floods. We couldn’t get out for two days.
Thank goodness we had had food we didn’t need to cook on the grille.

We were so pleased with this property-its 100% been our most enjoyable vrbo stay to date! This home looks great in its listing but the pictures don't do it justice. Cozy, well decorated, and thoughtfully appointed for anything you could want or need for a quiet stay in Ocean City while still be close and convenient to everything. The outdoor spaces are lovely and well maintained. The space was clean and bright and did I mention so tastefully decorated (my husband is sick of hearing me say, "oh, I really love this" all week). We sadly didn't get to use the pool because it was a chilly few days at the tail end of summer but we fully plan on booking here early for next summer!

The home was beautiful but not perfect. Exactly what I hoped for since I was traveling with 2 dogs. I loved the neighborhood and walked my dogs everywhere. The view from the property to the bay was stunning. Gorgeous homes in the area and very quiet , safe neighborhood.
We found we were able to take the dogs to the beach at the national park which was really nice and clean. There was also a small park a short distance from the home for dog exploring. I was worried about the canal behind the property but had no problems at all. Very happy my dogs somehow weren't interested in the canal and were safely contained in the yard.
The home was really nicely set up , perfect for the 3 of us and the 2 dogs. Loved the pool but it was a little too chilly when we were there. Still beautiful to sit by. The beaches and the area was easy to navigate. If any issues they were small like not having crab tools in the kitchen to crack crab. I think a keurig would be nice so I could have brought a few cups to bring and brew. Overall it was a great time and we really enjoyed our stay.

Great house and convenient location. Our family had a great time.

We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

There was a little hiccuo in the beginning, however Doug handled it very quickly and we had a great stay! The backyard is very entertaining for the kids and the rooms were accomendating.
4.5
We enjoyed our stay at the property. There was plenty of space for 2 families with young children. We especially loved the backyard with the pool, hammock seats and fire pit.
4.5
Amazing property. We enjoyed hanging out at the home. The ambiance was great!

Great experience from booking to checkout. Property owner is responsive and communicative. Backyard area is quaint but the space is so well-planned it doesn’t feel small. Everything is organized and efficient, from the closets to the bedrooms. If you’re looking for a spot that feels like it’s off the beaten path, but is still near and has direct access to classic OC destinations, Doug’s house is a good bet.
4.5
Check in was easy and without issues. House is great. Beds aren’t too comfortable but the nights are quiet. Our kids loved the sand in the yard and the adults loved the fire pit we played on the lawn and it was only a 5 min drive into downtown OC (southern end). Easy access to restaurants and the outlets. Will gladly stay again.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay immensely! Upon entering we immediately were thrilled with our choice of a vacation home. The downstairs is roomier than the photos would have you believe and has beautiful wood floors with area rugs. Considering the sandy beach-like space by the dock, the floors were surprisingly clean and free of sand. The kitchen was well-appointed and clean, as was the first floor half-bath. Two sets of French doors open to the deck (beautiful!). Upstairs, the master bedroom with ensuite bath was beautiful and clean; the other queen room was smaller but perfect for a couple (we didn’t use the bunkbed room). We chose this house not only because the inside looked charming but the outside offered something that few rentals have: a beautifully landscaped yard, deck and pool. We rented at the end of September and while it was a bit late in the season to comfortably use the pool (because the nights are cooler and don’t retain the daytime warmth) we knew we may not be able to use it this season. Still, it was great just relaxing by the pool because the grounds are so nice. The photos of the deck, dock, pool and yard don’t do them justice – there is a large grassy area for yard games/activities and a choice of seating areas depending on your mood. At night the landscape lighting creates a beautiful setting for the firepit. The ignition switch on the grill is tricky but that’s easily remedied by turning on the gas and lighting the grill with a wand lighter, just like we do at home. We did not experience the issues others have noted; to us, this means that when necessary fixes are reported to the owner, they are promptly addressed. That’s exactly what you want in a vacation rental. We’re already planning our return stay!

The house, area, amenities and property offer so much. Everything is also very up to date and aesthetically pleasing, as much as it was too actually enjoy. The owner also responded very quickly whenever we had questions. Our 4 year old was also completely occupied the whole time
4.5
The house is a petite beautiful, well appointed 3 bedroom on the canal. We loved the open plan of the downstairs. The upstairs felt tiny and a bit close quarters but there were only 3 of us. We thought it would be more roomy than our townhouse in DC and it is a bit elsewhere but not inside upstairs. The outside is very pretty. It was precarious for our small adventurous toddler. He’s never left alone but there are so many steps and drop offs, the pool deck, the dock, the deck. We liked the area but the fencing of the property doesn’t help for this and made our time outside nerve-racking unless he was strapped in. For a dog that won’t swim it’d be helpful. Overall it was what was promised. We picked it for the pool because our son loves the pool but it was way too cold even on the one 78 degree sunny day we had while there. It was mid-September so the beach was nicer and just about 10-15 mins to Assateague. We didn’t use the pool except tried the one day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We ate on the deck, used the grill, sat on the hanging chairs, enjoyed the water view. The property needs a bit of love though and is looking a bit worn out. The carpet needs replacing. Of the 3 rooms the lights only worked in one of the bedrooms, the master. I told the owner that we would make due for our 3 days, but hopefully this is fixed. Many kitchen things are worn out or tired. The grill is special, kind of broken, there is a deck door that is broken which would be the nicest one to open. There was blood on a pillow and a bath matt and the pillow cases were too small & didn’t cover the pillows, the beds were only looked properly made, severe mold on the shower curtains. Many little things that just needed a walk-through to notice. Doug was very responsive on the things we reported. We were just there 3 nights and he allowed us to check-in early which was very nice. We enjoyed our stay overall in this very nice setting.

Could have been cleaner when we arrived. Whole place needs a good scrubbing.

The property had everything we needed. Dock, private pool, fire pit, water view. The rooms were comfortable, the kitchen was easy to cook in. We would stay here again. Located close to shopping and dining.
4.5
We loved the house and location. It is so quiet on the bay side.

The House was super clean and very well done. The pool was small but very nice and clean and the landscaping was extremely nice. The neighborhood was very quiet and not crowded. I do have some complaints that kept me from giving this house a 5 Star. First: The beds were extremely uncomfortable, everyone in our group complained about the beds. Second: there is a lack of cable television, I don’t expect every channel but it’s nice to at least have espn and the basics. This house has very little channels and zero cable in the master bedroom. Third: the owner left the fridge full of food and drinks, I’ve been staying in rental homes for vacation for over 14 years and this is the first time we had to navigate around someone’s groceries. Fourth and finally the place is a bit small and I would only recommend it to a 1 family vacation rental. This is a very clean and nice vacation home. If new mattresses were installed we would stay again in a heartbeat!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Doug's home. Everything was up to date and comfortable. He thought of everything for his guests. We hope to be back!

We had planned a guys weekend to come to OCMD to play golf but didn’t want to leave the wife’s at home. So we decided to make it a little mini vacation. My friends have a house right up the road where the others stayed but we wanted our own space. The house was booked the first night by someone else but no worries Doug tried hard to get us a early check in. We arrived and the house was clean and had everything you needed. The backyard was a nice size with a little pool, deck, sand and grass. Perfect to sit outside by the water with the wife and dog. We only stayed a couple days but would defiantly come back for a longer stay. Hopefully next year.

It's a very nice house in a great West OC location. Outdoor space is also very nice. The owners were very easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again.
