When arriving the bearmat was disconnected. When entering the house know there is no air conditioning so if you are sensitive to heat I wouldnt reccomend staying. The floor of the living room was heavily scratched. The deck of the balcony should be checked because some boards are loose and could be a tripping hazard. The hottub had to be reset many times over the course of our trip but was fine over all. The place is very worn down, with doors, cabinets, and tables being scratched up too.The couches were fine and comfortable, aswell as the master bedroom bed and the lower solo bedroom. The bunk beds were creaky and painful after long periods of rest The screen door also had issues with even functioning. The bathrooms were very nice but I do reccomend putting a bathmat in the lower floors bathroom because it could be a slipping hazard. The bottom floors tiles are not set in place and you can hear them shifting and feel them slightly moving. One bonus is they do have netflix and hulu on the tv, and the hot water and water pressure were very nice. Over all i would give this a 3 out of 5 stars, it can be an enjoyable stay but the cons overway the good, good if you just need a place to sleep and shower. We did have a bear break in to the garage while we were sleeping and it seems like it has happened before. It tore up trash and a garage door, and we were told to just leave it alone, which attracted the bear.

The house was fine but upon arrival the hot tub did not work, the propane on the grill was out and the communication with the vacasa manager was terrible. They were unresponsive and dismissive of our requests to get things fixed. I spent hrs on the phone with vacasa only to have them revert me back to the local manager who continued to ignore me. For a trip that costs thousands of dollars they refunded $190 for a hot tub that didn't work. Not worth it - would never stay here or recommend it again or recommend working with vacasa ever. An overall bad experience for what was supposed to be a relaxing 4th of july week.

We visited Lake Tahoe for a ski trip and Fawn Lodge was perfect for us. It was very spacious and the large open living/ kitchen space was perfect for hanging out. The hot tub was a huge perk too! There were a few maintenance issues - the garbage disposal didn’t work, the door frame to the master bedroom was broken so the door was very difficult to open and close. Beds were comfortable and the house overall was clean and pretty well stocked with plenty of towels and extra blankets and space heaters. The carpet could use a deep clean and it would have been nice if the windows would have been cleaned to help us enjoy the view, but the house wasn’t gross or anything. We would definitely stay here again!

This house was a great place to stay with lots of space for all guests. However, there were two broken doors in the master bedroom which need to be fixed, and the floor was a bit scratched up. Jacuzzi is a great feature especially when it’s snowing outside.

A lot of things were broken in this property.

We had flown cross-country, when we landed we were informed that our reservation was canceled a hour and a half before check-in. I understand the weather was awful, but there answer was we can reschedule in the next 30 days. After almost 2 hours on the phone with vacasa we able to reestablish our reservation starting a day later they informed us they were not able have the place cleaned. When we arrived the place was trashed, the prior renters were slobs, we found the place a little run down,

The house in general was great & allowed dogs. The only downfall was the trash was not picked up from the previous stay, beer cans left in garage & outback on the ground, the master bedroom door was hanging off the hinges so could not shut the doors, early check in was a joke / didn't get it, the kitchen essentials to use are extremely old / worn out, and the big couch is pretty much ready for the trash.
We did love the house overall and location was great. Neighborhood was nice and peaceful. Perfect location for family to stay.

Accommodation COULD be amazing.
It is currently very tired, needing some TLC, especially the hot tub and outside areas which are untidy, dirty and in a state of disrepair.
Had an issue one night where the door to the property could not be locked as it was broken.
Not worth the price that it is listed at - unless they spend some money on it.

This property is exactly as described. Very family friendly, pet friendly.
Unfortunately the people before us left a bit of a mess with trash and dog feces, but overall the stay was wonderful and we enjoyed our time there!!

Nice and adequate residence. It’s an older house but kept clean indoors. Very functional & practical. TV & other home technologies were nice. The deck could be more maintained. Overall good experience.

There were more cons than pros at this rental. We rent in Tahoe often and this was the worst lodge conditions. All the beds were uncomfortable especially the bunk beds, you could feel every spring. Hardly enough blankets for a winter lodge. Only 8 forks total and the cutlery was just old. No foil or zip locks or mixing bowls, just cheap old cook wear. Couches were a joke, just old and gross leather, couch pillows just had a nasty texture. Hot tub smelt like something died in it. This was the only thing they came out to fix the next day but then it took forever to reheat the new water that we ended up with one day's use out of 3 days. Dishwasher was missing wheels for the dish basins plus no dishwasher soap was provided. The only pros were the refrigerator and stove were nice. Overall you can get a nicer place in Tahoe for the Price they charged. It just seems like they don't care about the property other than doing basic cleaning for the next renters, which is probably why we found bedding and other items still in the washer and dryer. The dryer hardly works. I don't typically leave reviews unless the quality was top notch or the lowest of the low this rental is rock bottom.

Everything was seamless for a ski trip. The hot tub was huge, perfect for our group. Only thing that could be improved is stocking the kitchen better with more cooking items, and a better coffee maker.

Every bad review on here is accurate and Vacasa has not done anything to fix it. The doors are falling off, the carpet is dirty, the couches are gross and uncomfortable, the kitchen is not well-equipped for cooking. Additionally, the beds felt dirty and I have a serious concern about bed bugs after staying here.

It's true, the furniture is outdated, the carpet is a little stained, the bedroom door is hard to close, and yes they need more towels.....but it didn't hinder us from having the best time ever! The home is large, tons of room for everyone and we were super comfy, and thrilled to have a jacuzzi. Location was super close to town and the lake. We will be thrilled to be able to stay here again. Thank you for having us.

Not sure if its the owner, vacasa, Expedia or who the problem is, but someone is a BIG problem to be advertising things they don't plan to provide or follow through with. The only reasons we went with this property, and paid 3xs as much for it, was because it stated (on multiple sites) that up to 4 dogs were welcome and that dogs could stay at no additional charge, and that they had a hot tub. We paid for our trip and received an email stating only one dog could join us--and for an additional cost. I called customer service and spoke with the rep as well as his manager. They stated that "for whatever reason the owner of the property changed this" and that they were allowed to do so and that I could only bring 1 dog and had to pay an additional $25 per day for our dog. But they were "sorry" for the inconvenience of me having to board my other 2 dogs with our local vet for $350! Then we received a text message the day of our trip saying "due to Covid" the hottub was unavailable. Sooooo.....it's ok to share somewhat cleaned toiletries and utensils but not a chlorine filled hot tub? We got there and my mom had a very hard time with the steepness and the stairs, so this is not somewhere you would want to book for elderly people or ones who have difficulties walking. Plus I was glad I didn't bring any more dogs than my 1 because there wasn't an enclosed yard so we had to take him out on a leash every few hours. Also, when we went to leave, I gathered up all of our sheets and towels, like asked, and saw that our mattress had big stains all over it-so gross. It's a big house and clean enough at a glance, but I definitely wouldn't stay here again.

cons: no air conditioning so it was quite hot in July. broken screens, broken furniture, hard and uncomfortable beds, broken garage doors, toaster doesn't work, broken bathroom door, hole in comforter, carpet is disgusting, way to expensive for what you get.
.
pros- other than the gross carpet it was pretty clean. roomy, has fans(though they're of little help in the summer), has washer and dryer, has plenty of dishes and condiments, somewhat quiet neighborhood, easy check in and out.

The cabin itself was super nice! Working heater so everything was warm, the upstairs looks amazing. There were some doors tho, like the master bathroom toilet door that weren’t working, they were broken. The trash receptacle was full and there were no extra trash bags provided, and the driveway wasn’t groomed before we came, so our truck had difficulty getting out of the driveway. Besides those cons, the cabin was super nice and had all the basics, I’d definitely stay here again.

As much as I love the space was able to operate the hot tub…. The whole cabin is old. Many doors are falling apart, rooms are only clean looking from afar.. but when you get close its dirty. We ended up buying our own sheets because we don’t trust the sheets since we found some few insect eggs on the bed themselves. Overall, I wouldn’t stay again. I love the fact that its very homey and big but thats it.

Plenty of room for us and our dog. We were there during the heatwave and with no AC, the lower back yard grass was a nice cool place to hang out.
I would have given 5 starts except the bar to remove the hot tub cover was broken. The cover is *very heavy so all we could do was shove it to one side, but that only gave access to 1 of the seats with jets. It's an awesome tub. Too bad we could not fully utilize it.

My husband and I took our adult kids (19 and 22) and thier significant others to Tahoe for summer vacation. We pick Tahoe Vista area because of central location to Incline, Kings Beach, Truckee and Tahoe City. This house was very spacious in the living and kitchen area. However, the decor and amenities were VERY outdated! The bedrooms had tube TVs, closets were filled with junk and broken items. The BBQ works but had broken legs. The deck had several broken chairs left out. Sleds were laying in the in the front yard even though it's summer time. Carpet on stairs was gross. It worked fine for us, but if you are looking form clean, cute and tidy VRBO for your stay.. keep looking.

This house has stained linens from the 80’s, filthy carpet; chipped toilets; a used bandaid on the deck; broken deck chairs (By the way, I guess it's BYOChairs because there are literally only two chairs on the entire deck and both were torn apart...apparently by a bear...that's what they told us.); a trash strewn yard and deck (also the bear's doing??); a dirty, broken hot tub; decaying bathroom drywall; smashed "fake rock" deck speakers (circa 1992?); a dilapidated deck umbrella; the list goes on and on but I think you get the idea.

Plenty of space for large groups! Big kitchen and big dining area to entertain your group without getting cramped! Should note that there are several sets of stairs which was no problem for our group but may be an issue for some. Will definitely rebook!

The Fawn Lodge in Tahoe Vista was the perfect getaway home for my family of 6 & dog. The house is lovely, open, airy, with a gorgeous kitchen, very comfortable beds, sweet deck with hot tub!! The neighborhood was beautiful, all the neighbors friendly including a sweet bear. Take me back!!!

Beautiful house
This rating is for the home itself, NOT the condition it was in. The home is gorgeous and the view in the backyard surrounded by pine trees is gorgeous! A short walk from the home and you will see a gorgeous lake of Tahoe as you come down from the hill where the home is located. Just gorgeous! The home itself could have been newer. There were TV sets in the room from the 90s (maybe 80s) but we didn’t care since we only used one room. Everything was antique in the home. The porch chairs were broken and the hot tub only had 1 of the 3 sets of jets working but it was still fine. The kitchen was nice and big, there was only one shit glass though. We cooked on the grill outside but the grill was dirty so we had to clean it first which was also fine.
The biggest hazard was the modem being on top of the cable box. The devices were so hot I burned my fingers and have no doubt it was a fire hazard! I untangled the wires from under the living room TV and set up the modem so that it was no longer sitting on top of the cable box. All in all, I’d give the house a 5 due to its location and general vibe, but it could certainly use an upgrade. It was also awesome that we could bring our dog, that was definitely a plus!

Nice home - fixed issues from previous reviews
This was a spacious house with a hot tub and was pet friendly. It is in a great location and was perfect for our ski adventure base.
At first, we were concerned with many of the reviews stating that things were broken and that the cabin wasn't stocked with kitchenware, but it seemed fine to us. The kitchen had pots and pans, sheet pans, glass wine glasses, etc so I think that some of the previous reviews have been corrected. We didn't find anything broken on the house itself and, either way, our stay was great so if there were maintenance items they didn't hinder us having a good time!
The jacuzzi was a nice touch after a day of skiing and seems to work well, keeping temperature up to 103 for a relaxing dip. I also really like the open common space for everyone to congregate. Lots of fun. I felt the beds were comfy and we slept perfectly fine on them. The kids slept fine in the top bunk beds and loved it. Previous reviews mentioned carpeting, but there was only a very small amount throughout the house so maybe the majority of the carpet had been replaced with wood floor.
All in all, I feel this cabin is definitely worth a stay and the owners/managers have fixed many of the existing issues.

The house is being repaired from years of looks like living in it , some doors are not working and blinds don’t work , very dated. Friends bed had socks at the bottom of it. Need better cleaning service at this location

It had everything I needed and was very clean. I felt extremely comfortable and safe. Neighborhood was nice and very quiet. Location was also perfect.

Great Location/Home
This property had the best location for what we needed. Short drive to coffee/restaurants, short walk to a lake view, near trail heads, etc. The neighborhood was sleepy which was perfect for us. The only thing I would call out is that this is run by a property management company and there are a few minor things that could up fixed (sliding door in bathroom, closet door that doesn't latch, patio blind that doesn't roll up). Nothing that will hinder your stay - just something a handyman fix.

Excellent location and Space
The layout of this house was great, great open space for dining, cooking and living. The main complaints is that it needs some updating. There isn't a single glass cup (opening a good bottle of wine to only find plastic cups was very disappointing). There isn't a single serving bowl or sheet pan in the entire place. Sleeps 8 but there isn't even 8 forks. There are tube TV's in almost every closet, the garage was dirty and full of junk. This could be an amazing rental but needs to be cleaned up so it feels like a rental and not a junk drop.

Needs a lot of repairs
This house needs a lot of repairs. It hasn’t been up kept well at all. It’s in very bad shape. The dryer doesn’t work well at all, the majority of the doors in those house don’t close, the carpet is in really bad condition and smells bad, the jacuzzi only has one working jet. It’s a beautiful house but it needs a lot of repairs.
